Salma Hayek (Savages, The Faculty, From Dusk Till Dawn) is set to star in Joe Lynch’s actioner Everly, the new project from Adam Ripp and Rob Paris’s Crime Scene Pictures shingle.
Hayek will star as a down-on-her-luck woman, stuck in her apartment, who must fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss. She’ll be replacing Kate Hudson, who had previously been earmarked for the role. Yale Hannon penned the script, which was featured on the Hollywood Black List.
The film shoots in Belgrade, Serbia this summer. I’m quite glad Lynch (Wrong Turn 2) is working on a new feature while all of the business malarky around Knights Of Badassdom (hopefully) gets sorted out. Everly apparently takes place in one room, I’m not sure why that room needs to be in Serbia – but I’m speaking with Lynch soon and will find out.
I actually like Wrong Turn 2. I think it’s a fun entry with some cool kills. But that doesn’t mean I can stop The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards) from selecting it as his next target! You’ve already read his assessments of House Of Wax and Ghost Ship, so you know how he rolls. Just because you don’t like a movie, that doesn’t necessarily mean every single frame of it is bad! And that’s precisely the point of his column here.

The Chillerama trailer has finally arrived in anticipation of the film’s premiere on September 15th at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
So far it looks pretty fun to me. I’m not completely blown away (and I suspect I’ll like some of the four installments more than others) but I suppose the point is that this is kind of a lark for all involved, a chance to stretch out before their next feature.
From the depraved minds of directors Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City, The Dark Backward), Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs, Driftwood), Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen), and Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Knights of Badassdom), Chillerama is a festival of gore, guts, goofiness and good times.
“It’s the closing night at the last drive-in theater in America and Cecil B. Kaufman (Richard Riehle, Bridesmaids, Hatchet) has planned the ultimate marathon of lost film prints to unleash upon his faithful cinephile patrons. Four films so rare that they have never been exhibited publicly on American soil until this very night! What could possibly go wrong?”
Chillerama is out on DVD and Blu-Ray November 29th. Check out the trailer after the jump.
