On April 11th, the Revolver Golden Gods took place, giving praise and recognition to the rock and metal community. Famous musicians, such as Dee Snider, Chris Jericho, Gene Simmons, Marilyn Manson, Slash, Amy Lee, and many more, were in attendance. It was a night meant to not only celebrate the achievements of rock and metal musicians and their offerings, but it was also a night for the fans, a way to honor their passion and their love. And it was a night that did absolutely nothing to spread the word and the importance of rock and metal. READ MORE
X-Japan, one of Japan’s biggest rock artists, is releasing Jade tomorrow, a digital single from the bands upcoming English debut album. Described as a mix between Queen and Muse, the song has mostly English lyrics and is actually pretty awesome! I’m fast becoming a big fan of X-Japan and I’m really excited to hear the new album.

“This is a years-long dream of X Japan’s, to release a record in the Americas and in Europe,” said Yoshiki, X Japan’s leader/producer/songwriter/drummer/pianist. ”Music is very powerful, and we believe it can help us bridge the gap between east and west. We hope that ‘Jade’ will be the first step.”

It’s been a bit since we’ve heard any news from Marilyn Manson. The last I heard was the shocking news that drummer Ginger Fish left the band after for 15 years of dedication. Well, to quell the dry spell a bit more, Marilyn Manson was a special model for Yoshiki’s (X Japan) fashion show, ‘Asia Girl Explosion’ (sounds like the title to a really bad porn OR yet another over-the-top awesome gore flick).
“When we came up with the concept for AGE, the first person I thought of was Marilyn Manson,” said Yoshiki. ”He is the fashion icon in rock’n'roll, and I’m very excited he agreed to be part of the show.”
Check after the jump for another photo of Marilyn Manson with Yoshiki as well as Marilyn Manson rocking the runway.

Michael Vampire (vocals) further comments: ‘Hello everyone. I wanted to tell all our fans and friends how honored we are to be supporting X Japan on their first North American tour. X Japan are icons and for us to be rocking out with them means a lot to us in the VE! camp. We intend on bringing an intense stage show and introduce some new songs into the set. We encourage all our covens and fans to spread the word about this upcoming tour. The tour begins September 25th, so evil ones get amped.
So, I’m gonna try a new article series for you readers where I post the track list of the latest mix CD that I made. I still don’t have an MP3 player aside from my Droid (never saw the use for one), so I still resort to making mixes for my car.
There are two things I hope to get from this:
1) I want a chance to show other styles of music that I listen to. I’m not ONLY a metalhead, y’know? I try to listen to all styles of music, from classical to jazz to metal to pop to electronica to traditional folk and everything in between. And this leads me to…
2) I hope that by doing this, many of you readers will find new artists to check out. What’s better than finding new music that you really enjoy? I love finding new artists to check out!
So, after the jump, you’ll find the track list of the latest mix CD I made (in the same order) along with a YouTube video (if there is one) for you to check out songs right away!
