All of Resident Evil 6′s multiplayer modes are half off, and if you haven’t gotten around to playing Telltale Games’ fantastic episodic The Walking Dead game, episode one will be free and the rest will cost a paltry 200 MSP each. I picked a few of the deals I think will interest you all, check them out after the jump. READ MORE
Just because we’re past Christmas, Hanukkah, and all other gift-giving holidays for 2012 doesn’t mean you still can’t treat yourself to a little gift, right? Today, Telltale Games has put Episode 1 of the incredibly popular and critically acclaimed The Walking Dead series on XBLA and iOS for free! Episodes 2-5 are still 400MS points.
If you’re away from your Xbox (or you can’t turn it on without your parents ripping your head off because, “You’re with the family and it’s family time!”), you can login to Xbox’s website and download it from there.
Now, get to downloading and make sure to make decisions with your gut instinct, because you should always follow that. Or make really bad decisions and screw everything up because it’s a game and you just want to see what will happen. It’s all good. READ MORE
State Of Decay formerly known as Class3 is an open world zombie apocalypse MMO currently in the works for the PC and Xbox Live Arcade. The awesomeness about that is since it’s on XBLA it should be a decently cheap price. The only thing I’m worried about is the length of the game. You hear MMO and you think endless hours and hours of gameplay. But will it be limited because of it’s Xbox Live release? Only time will tell. I do know, it looks awesome and I’m quite excited. And I’m hoping for some awesome co-op gameplay. Speaking of gameplay, check out the Distraction Gameplay video past the break.
Releasing ToeJam and Earl on the same day as Halo 4 was in my opinion, DUMB. So once I come down off my Halo 4 high horse I will definitely be getting the ToeJam and Earl collection. In case you didn’t already know, it’s out today in North America on the Playstation Network. Tomorrow in Europe on the PSN, and globally on Xbox Live Arcade. It includes the original game, and the 2nd game ToeJam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron. Supposedly the Playstation Network will sell them at 5 bucks each, and XBLA will have them bundled together for 800 Microsoft Funk Bucks. Screens past the break.
I’m speechless. I never thought I’d see the day. But it really is happening. ToeJam & Earl are coming to the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Some childhood memories are flooding out my brain. November 7th you’ll be able to get the original game and ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron as part of Sega’s Vintage Collection, a pack that will run you 10 bucks or 800 Microsoft Toe Jammy Points. Both games include Trophy and Achievement support as well as online 2 player co-op for both games. Screens and game info past the break!
For those who don’t know what CastleMiner Z is it’s quite easy to understand. Think Minecraft meets zombie infested survival horror. In this however you have/create a much more brutal arsenal of guns and ammo at your disposal. How can you go wrong? You fucking can’t. It’s also only 1 fucking dollar in the Xbox Indie Games section. The game is so popular that they’ve reached 1 million downloads. No indie game on XBLA has achieved such a feat, making it the 1st to reach 1 million. How long did it take? Only 10 months. If you’re interested check out the trailer below. Or just pick it up, it’s a dollar!
I’m not sure if any of you remember Zombie Driver. I posted about it so long ago I’m not sure if I even had pubes. Ok, well maybe not that long ago. The easiest way to sum up Zombie Driver is think original Grand Theft Auto. Except you drive around in a totally modded kick ass car destroying zombies. Previously released on the PC, but now downloadable on the Xbox Live Arcade. You can pick it up for 800 Splattered Microsoft Zombies. Check out a trailer past the breaks, and more screenshots.
I’m not going to lie to you folks, but sometimes I really hate Xbox’s release schedule. What exactly is he talking about, you might be wondering? Well, in the Chicagoland area where I live, let’s say Deadlight is coming out tomorrow August 1st. Well, it really is coming out tomorrow. HOWEVER, it usually comes out at 5am my time on Xbox Live. Between 4 and 5am is usually when I go to sleep. Which for me can mean I won’t be able to play it until I wake up at about 2pm. Why can’t they release the damn game at midnight!? Sorry for ranting, enough of that. Below is the Deadlight launch trailer because yes the game comes out tomorrow August 1st (probably at 5am, bastards) exclusively for the Xbox 360 Arcade.
If you haven’t already experienced The Walking Dead game yo may want to give it a shot. I’ve got to say, it’s weird and not like any game I’ve ever played. But it’s definitely fun and will mess with your nerves. If you do play it, never let your guard down because that’s when you’ll get wrecked. Below you can check out the accolades trailer where a bunch of sites say nice things about the game and give it some damn good reviews.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD came out yesterday and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. It’s been raining quite a bit in Chicago/Chicagoland the past couple days. Don’t get me wrong, I’m ecstatic about it because we’ve pretty much been going through a drought followed by random high humidity heat waves. When I play most Tony Hawk games I want to go out and skate afterwards. But I can’t, so I’ve been inside playing more Tony Hawk instead. Upon the release of the game, it was also announced they are working on even more levels for DLC. The maps in THPS HD are taken from the 1st and 2nd game, the 1st DLC will contain maps from THPS 3. Check out this video as Tony Hawk tells you all about it.
Hopefully the game will do well enough that they will keep releasing new maps as DLC. If you head past the break you can check out a new trailer, tons screenshots, and game features.
Most people find developer diaries pretty boring. I however love them. If you really pay attention you can see the heart and soul that these people pour into games. Instead of tearing through a game, a developer diary really helps you pay attention to the detail and beauty in games. These Deadlight Diaries are some of the best I’ve seen. These guys know what they’re doing. Which get’s me even more excited for the game. See what I mean, check out the video below.
Deadlight comes out August 1st exclusively in the Xbox Live Arcade.
The single game that made me buy a Sega Saturn? Nights. Why? Because back in the day flying was a big deal. Now we have tons of games where you fly around like it’s no big deal. But back in the days of the glorious Sega Saturn, a game like Nights opened up the minds of young gamers like myself to glorious new worlds. Well, coming this fall to the PC, Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade NiGHTS Into Dreams will be re-released in HD. Wondrous HD. Lots more past the break!
It’s no secret that electronic artist Deadmau5 is a big gamer. He’s very big on Minecraft and has appeared in some very entertaining YouTube videos (I’m looking at you Yogscast). But now the mouse-headed musician has released a video for “The Veldt” that shows a lot of inspiration and admiration for the XBLA darling Limbo (review). From the unique art style to the character movement, it’s pretty obvious that Deadmau5 was a big fan of the indie smash hit.
The video tell the tale of a boy and a girl (brother and sister?) who walk through the wilds of Africa, taking in the sights. This includes a lion feeding, vultures scavenging, running through the ribcage of an elephant (or something similarly large), climbing a mountain, and much more. It’s a fun, relatively short video that is well worth checking out below. READ MORE
August 1st can’t come soon enough. That’s when Deadlight will FINALLY be hitting the Xbox Live Arcade. Past the break you can check out part 2 of the Deadlight Diaries where the guys over at Tequila Works give you a little more insight on the story and it’s main character. I can’t friggen wait for this game! Anyone else piss their pants with joy?
Alien Fear is an upcoming first person shooter that’s running on Unreal 3. It’s coming out for the Playstation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade and looks damn good for a downloadable game. It’s pretty amazing to see how far games are coming year to year. Alien Fear looks as good as a lot of full price games that are out there. I don’t yet know if there will be much to the story, but you and other commandos are on a sabotage mission. It sounds like non stop action with friends just going to town on aliens. Alien Fear is looking to be released this fall.
I used to skate many a year ago. I was never any good at it. But when I see Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD assets, I just want to grab my board and go hurt myself. The full soundtrack was announced which you can check out past the break. But I have to say I’m quite disappointed that there is only 1 song from THPS1 on there. It’s Goldfinger, and I love me some Goldfinger, but seriously that 1st games music as by far the best. Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD will be out sometime this summer, no official release date yet for the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. The game will run you 15 bucks, which I will happily pay for. Screens, soundtrack, and game info past the break.
There’s a new sidescrolling survival horror platformer in town and that game is called Adam’s Live Nude Slapstick Adventure: The Reckoning. Actually, it’s called Deadlight and I’m pretty sure it will be far more terrifying than anything I could come up with. We’ve already seen it in action, but really, Deadlight’s the type of game you just can’t get enough of, especially since there really isn’t anything else like it right now. Also, it’s being developed by Tequila Works, a studio that I’d very much like to work at because it sounds like they’re the type of company that has a tequila dispenser in the cafeteria. A tequila dispenser. Head past the break for four fantastic minutes of gameplay. READ MORE
So I’ve got some new screens from the amazing looking side scrolling horror game Deadlight from E3. However (and this happens a lot), some of the screenshots released we’re already released months ago. So I apologize. But that shouldn’t really get any of us down, because side scrolling horror? How often do we actually see that? Not often, so we should embrace the hell out of if when it comes along. Head past the break for the screen shots from E3. Also feel free to complain over the fact that this is going to be an Xbox 360/Live Arcade exclusive.
Back in January Deadlight was announced. Since January I’ve been steadily getting more and more pumped for Deadlight and you should too. The Fear Yourself Story Trailer you can watch past the break is incredible, and gives you a small look into what’s going on in the game. It uses gameplay and an interactive comic to tell the story. Almost has a Walking Dead feel to it except for the fact that you’re alone. Deadlight is looking at a 3rd quarter release this year exclusively for the Xbox Live Arcade.
I’ve got to say, I couldn’t be more excited for Deadlight. If you’ve played Shadow Complex, I would definitely compare it to that. But in a dark zombie like way. A 2D’esq sidescroller with incredibly detailed 3D backgrounds make this game super original and kick ass looking. If you head past the break you can check out a developer diary from Tequila Works all about Deadlight. You can tell these guys love what they do, and are meticulous about the creation process.
The first of five planned episodes of The Walking Dead recently became available on PSN, PC and Mac earlier this week and we now know when it’ll be making its way to Xbox Live. Tomorrow gamers will be able to jump onto Xbox Live and download The Walking Dead Episode 1 for an easy 400 Microsoft Severed Zombie Limbs, or $5. In case you missed it, you should definitely head past the break for the launch trailer! READ MORE
TJ and I really dodged a bullet with our co-op review of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. I mean, had we not liked the game Mr. Scratch himself probably would’ve skinned us alive. Thankfully, the game rocks and there’s very little not to like about it, unless you’re not a fan of pure, undiluted awesome. I can’t think of a time when a character from a video game has responded to the reviews the game he’s in received, but that’s what just happened with the video you can find beyond the break. Just beware, there’s some sort of fourth wall stuff going on here. It’s freaky. READ MORE
