I recently hopped on the phone with Isabelle and we talked about the challenges of portraying such a complex character as well as what it was like to be exposed to all of the freaky procedure in the film. We’ve got a trailer and some box art Dead Mine, which XLrator Media will released on VOD on May 2, 2013 and will issue on DVD on May 28, 2013. The film stars Joe Taslim (The Raid, Fast and Furious 6), Sam Hazeldine (The Raven) and Miki Mizuno (Guilty of Romance).

UK Independent film Warhouse has been acquired by XLrator Media for US Distribution. Joseph Morgan (“Vampire Diaries”, Immortals) and Matt Ryan (“Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior”, Flypaper) star in the new film from director Luke Massey.
“In the role of Royal Marine, A.J. Budd, Joseph Morgan stars in this brutal psychological and supernatural thriller, in which he finds himself trapped in the Warhouse. Imprisoned, he is forced to fight for his life against grotesque, inhuman opponents. He must kill every day or die himself. His one glimmer of hope comes in the form of a diary, left by a former occupant of the house, WWI Lieutenant Edward Sterling, played by Matt Ryan.”

Zachary Quinto’s production company, Before The Door Pictures, partnered with Sunchaser Entertainment and German producer Christian Arnold-Beutel (The Ledge) to produce the elevated horror feature The Banshee Chapter. Interactive and transmedia director Blair Erickson wrote and directed the film that has now been picked up for U.S. distribution by XLrator Media. feature directorial debut on the project.

Holy Ghost People, the latest genre film from Mitchell Altieri, one half of “The Butcher Brothers” (The Hamiltons, its sequel The Thompsons, as well as April Fool’s Day and The Violent Kind) has been picked up for distribution by XLrator Media, who will handle the film in all North American territories.
I liked the film, having caught it at SXSW, but I’m hoping they take this chance to tweak some of the elements that didn’t quite work (they had literally just finished that version of the film hours before the SXSW deadline).
Starring Emma Greenwell, Brendan McCarthy, Joe Egender, Cameron Richardson and Roger Aaron Brown, the film begins on the trail of her missing sister, Charlotte enlists the help of Wayne, an ex-Marine and alcoholic, to infiltrate the Church of One Accord – a community of snake-handlers who risk their lives seeking salvation in the Holy Ghost. It World Premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

XLrator Media has acquired all U.S. rights to the horror sensation, American Mary, written and directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska (Dead Hooker in a Trunk).
The female-centric surgical horror-thriller will be released on XLrator Media’s newly announced Screamfest label in Fall 2013.
“American Mary follows the story of medical student Mary Mason (played by Katharine Isabelle of the Ginger Snaps franchise) as she grows increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the surgeons she once admired. The allure of easy money and notoriety send Mary into the shady world of underground surgery and body modification.”
The film co-stars Antonio Cupo (“Bomb Girls”), Tristan Risk, David Lovgren and Paula Lindberg. American Mary was produced by IndustryWorks Pictures, Evan Tylor and John Curtis.
In limited theaters July 8: The story follows a girl (Heard) who is admitted to a psychiatric ward, meets other girls there with distinct personalities and discovers a mysterious girl haunting the halls at night.
Official: In John Carpenter’s THE WARD, Kristen, a beautiful but troubled young woman, finds herself bruised, cut, drugged, and held against her will in a remote ward of a Psychiatric Hospital. She is completely disoriented, with no idea why she was brought to this place and no memory of her life before being admitted. All she knows is that she isn’t safe. The other patients in the ward, four equally disturbed young women, offer no answers, and Kristen quickly realizes things are not as they seem. The air is heavy with secrets, and at night, when the hospital is dark and foreboding, she hears strange and frightening sounds. It appears they are not alone. One-by-one the other girls begin to disappear and Kristen must find a way out of this hellish place before she, too, becomes a victim. As she struggles to escape, she will uncover a truth far more dangerous and horrifying than anyone could have imagined.
