Raze

Stuntwoman Zoe Bell headlines this sly subversion of the women-in-prison genre. After Sabrina (Bell) is abducted, she finds herself in an underground lair, forced to do battle with other innocent women for the amusement of unseen spectators. Each of these reluctant warriors has something to lose, but only one will remain when the game is done. Violent and relentless, Raze takes its video game aesthetic to the deepest and darkest places, rarely surfacing for air.

Angel of Death (V)

Stuntwoman turned actress Zoë Bell (“Death Proof,” “Double Dare”) has been cast as the lead character in the series, which depicts a remorseless assassin (Bell) in the employ of a ruthless crime family. After suffering a severe head wound, she becomes so haunted by her victims that she decides to kill the people who ordered the hits, one by one

IFC Battles For Vicious Fight Flick ‘Raze’

IFC Midnight acquired North American rights to Cinipix’s action/thriller Raze, directed by Josh Waller, Deadline writes.

The film, written by Robert Beaucage, stars Zoe Bell, Rachel Nichols, Tracie Thoms and Sherilyn Fenn, and made its world premiere at last month’s Tribeca Film Festival.

“Raze follows Sabrina, a woman who is mysteriously abducted and held captive in an underground lair, where she is forced to do battle with other innocents for the amusement of unseen spectators. Each of these reluctant warriors has something to lose, but only one will remain when the game is done.

It’s a pretty solid little flick that’s sort of like Bloodsport without the creative characters. I think you guys will enjoy the brutality of it. READ MORE

Raze focuses on two abducted women and 50 other women who are forced to fight each other using their bare hands, all for the sadistic enjoyment of an elite, voyeuristic society that follows one rule — Fight or die.

Zoe Bell To Tattoo Up Some Evil In ‘The Devil’s Ink’

Hot on the bloody heels of recently wrapped horror battle film Raze, Cinipix and Slater Brothers Entertainment are set to produce another gritty action/drama feature, The Devil’s Ink. Raze producer Kenny Gage and Devon Downs have written and are set to direct the film, which will go into production in October.

The cast includes Zoe Bell (Oblivion, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained), RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), Robert LaSardo (Death Race, “Nip/Tuck”), Richard Cabral (End of Watch, “Southland”), Sandra Vergara (Fright Night, God Bless America), Shayla Beesley and Louis Iacoviello.

In the film, “when sexy ex-con Samantha Black (Bell) finds her Venice Beach tattoo parlor at the center of a scandal involving two dirty cops and the sex trafficking of underaged girls, her retribution is swift, bloody — think Cohen Brothers on ‘roids and Red Bull — and hardcore to the bone. Following a cast of bikers, gangsters and felons from the ink shop for which the film is named into the filthiest corners of corruption and depravity, the fast-moving, fight-for your life story provides an unflinching look at the dark side of street life, and a nuanced vision of who exactly modern society’s true villains really are.

You can keep up with The Devil’s Ink on their official Facebook page.

*Updated with the above image:

Borrowing the music from the Tron: Legacy score, Cosmic Toast Studios has released a attention-grabbing teaser trailer for Josh C. Waller’s Raze, a girl fight film described as Fight Club meets Hostel.

I was sold before even learning that both Quentin Tarantino fav Zoë Bell (Kill Bill, Game of Death, Grindhouse, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters) and Rachel Nichols (Star Trek, P2, The Amityville Horror) star!

Unfortunately there’s no plot crunch, but all you need is the casting and below trailer. Dig it and talk! READ MORE

Grindhouse

Grindhouse – noun – A downtown movie theater – in disrepair since its glory days as a movie palace of the ’30s and ’40s – known for “grinding out” non-stop double-bill programs of B-movies. From groundbreaking directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez comes the ultimate film experience: a double-bill of thrillers that will recall both filmmakers’ favorite exploitation films. “Grindhouse” will be presented as one full-length feature comprised of two individual films helmed separately by each director. Tarantino’s film, “Death Proof,” is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife, while Rodriguez’s film explores an alien world eerily familiar to ours in “Planet Terror.” Welcome to the Grindhouse – it’ll tear you in two.

“Death Proof” stars Kurt Russell, Zoe Bell, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Ferlito, Jordan Ladd, Rose McGowan, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Marley Shelton, Tracie Thoms, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Michael Bacall, Eli Roth, Omar Doom; “Planet Terror” stars Freddy Rodriguez, Rose McGowan, Josh Brolin, Naveen Andrews, Marley Shelton, Michael Biehn, Stacy Ferguson, Jeff Fahey, Michael Parks
