Dune (Remake)

Any other Dune fans out there? I remember watching Dune (1984) when I was a kid and loving it but as I got older I thought it could have been so much better, bigger and longer. When I first read the book, I definitely wanted a remake and possible trilogy. Looks like I'm finally getting my wish and seems to be in good hands! (SyFy's attempt was decent but lacked the budget needed for this property.)
Here's some info for those who haven't heard much about the remake. I'm even more stoked that Denis Villeneuve is directing.

Apparently there will also be a TV series. Wonder it will connect to the movies if at all?

I'll try to update when any more news breaks about the film. Feel free to share any info you hear as well.

Saw the the original movie, 95% of it is mind numbingly boring as hell and the whole thing feels like it's 10 hours too long, all this even more so if you watch the director's cut
It was the cow...

With what Villienvue has done with films like Arrival, Blade Runner, Prisoners and Sicario, I feel this is in good hands and people who aren't fans or haven't even heard of Dune will enjoy it.
There is so much in the books that there is no way to fit everything into one movie. Looks like this will be a trilogy.
Dune was released when I was in high school and I can remember there being a slight buzz about it, but not enough for me to run out and see it.
ok. thought Denis was taking a break for a bit. he's called it the project of his life and has been haunted by images from the book since he was like 12.
Watch Jodorowsky's Dune you fools.

i'm all for another dune. i was pleased with denis take on blade runner, so i have faith he can tackle herbert's complex and layered vision.
