Fresh off his adaptation of IT, Andy Muschietti is returning to the director’s chair to helm the pilot episode of “Locke & Key,” Hulu’s horror/fantasy drama adaptation of the Joe Hill comic book series.
Via Deadline today, Nate Corddry (The Circle) is the latest to join the cast. Corddry will play Duncan Locke, the Locke children’s uncle.
Duncan does what he can to ease the family’s pain after his older brother’s murder, and he and his boyfriend, Brian Rogers, help Nina and the kids settle into the old family home in Massachusetts. Duncan doesn’t seem to think that there’s anything wrong with the old family home, but he possesses a few critical secrets.
The cast also includes Frances O’Connor as Nina Locke; Jackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke; and Megan Charpentier as Kinsey Locke.
“Locke and Key” is a horror/fantasy series that revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house has magical keys that give them an array of powers. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.
Comic book creator Hill and Cuse (“Lost”, “Bates Motel”, “The Strain”) are collaborating on the script for the hourlong pilot. Cuse will exec produce alongside Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Cuse’s Lindsey Springer, who serves as head of the latter’s production company. Cuse will serve as showrunner, while Muschietti will direct the IDW Comics drama. IDW Entertainment president David Ozer and Hill also exec produce.
