Garret Dillahunt Joins the Cast of “Fear the Walking Dead”

Not all that long ago, actor Garret Dillahunt (The Last House on the Left) was campaigning for the role of Negan on “The Walking Dead.” Of course, that role eventually went to Jeffrey Dean Morgan, but in an interesting twist of fate, Dillahunt has just been cast in the companion series!

Via Tracking Board today, Dillahunt has joined “The Walking Dead” universe as a new series regular on “Fear the Walking Dead.

No word yet on his role, but Dillahunt will arrive in the forthcoming Season 4.

“Fear the Walking Dead” stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Colman Domingo as Strand, Daniel Sharman as Troy, Sam Underwood as Jake, Michael Greyeyes as Walker, and Rubén Blades as Daniel.

The #2 drama on cable and #4 cable series overall, “Fear the Walking Dead” is executive produced by Dave Erickson, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, and David Alpert and produced by AMC Studios.

  • Baron Von Marlon

Saw him again recently in Brooklyn Nine Nine. Proper actor.

  • Jeff

Love him. Looking forward to his inclusion here. He would have made a much better Negan imho but kinda glad he didn’t have to waste his acting ability/charm for it.

  • Bart Crowe

Dude was hilarious on Raising Hope. Hell the guy has been good in everything he’s a real “that guy from that thing” actor.

  • dsxy

Quality actor, could easily become a lead in that show.

  • ShadowInc

Great news. Dillahunt is an asset to any project he is involved in.

  • Daniel Kennard

A little Deadwood reunion right there

  • Eric

Could he play Negan in Fear the Walking Dead? Wasn’t there talk of crossovers and back stories recently…

  • GunsOfNavarone

Really like Dillahunt and Fear The Walking Dead is currently knocking spots off TWD which hasn’t had a single good episode since it started back up, so this is great news.

  • Chris

I love this guy! I wouldn’t get our hopes up though. Just because they say series regular, doesn’t mean he won’t die a few episodes in. They said the same about Ethan Embry in TWD, and he was killed off in only one episode.

  • Necro

I truly believe he would’ve been a good choice for ‘Negan’.

  • Blaz138

He’s much, much too good for this show
