Amazon Stepping Up to Save “The Expanse” After Syfy’s Recent Cancellation

The third season of Syfy’s “The Expanse” only kicked off a month ago, but the network announced just a couple weeks back that the currently-airing season will sadly be the last. The last episode of the series will air on Syfy this coming July.

The last episode on Syfy, that is.

THR reports this week that Amazon Studios is already in talks to revive “The Expanse.” The streaming outlet is near a deal to revive the space drama for a fourth season.

At this time, the deal has not yet been closed.

Co-created and written by Oscar-nominated screenwriting duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men), the series is based on the bestselling book series by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (under the pen name James S. A. Corey).

The cast includes Steven Strait, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Dominique Tipper, Cas Anvar, Wes Chatham, Frankie Adams and Thomas Jane.
