Jordan Peele has been a busy man in the wake of becoming one of the hottest creative talents in the world thanks to Get Out, and the horror film Us isn’t the only thing he’s bringing to the table next year. We’ve just learned via Deadline that Peele’s sci-fi/comedy anthology series “Weird City” has been picked up by YouTube.

YouTube has given a straight-to-series order to the project, created by Peele and Charlie Sanders (“Key and Peele”). The six-episode series will debut on YouTube Premium in 2019.

“Co-written by Peele and Sanders, Weird City is an anthology set in the not-too-distant future metropolis of Weird. Each episode is an exploration of issues that pertains to present day life, stories that could only be told now through the prism of sci-fi and comedy.”

Adam Bernstein (Fargo, Scrubs, 30 Rock) is directing the first two episodes. Jose Molina (Marvel’s Agent Carter, Sleepy Hollow) will be showrunner and executive producer.

Peele will also executive produce the series.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
