“Now I’m playing with power!”
As we told you earlier this year, Robert Englund officially becomes part of the DC Universe thanks to NetherRealm Studios’ just-released video game Injustice 2, which allows you to have Mortal Kombat-style battles to the death using a huge roster of DC heroes and villains. A perfectly cast Englund provided the voice for Scarecrow, and he managed to work in a fun little reference to his most iconic role.
At one point during the game, Scarecrow utters the line “Now I’m playing with power,” a direct nod to the very same line Freddy Krueger spouts off during the infamous Power Glove scene in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. All these years later, it’s pretty cool to hear Englund pay tribute to the video game kill scene in a real video game!

Injustice 2 was released on May 16th.
Injustice 2 continues the epic cinematic story introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime. In the midst of the chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s existence at risk. This long hard fought battle will end friendships, form new ones, and have more enemies.
The voice cast also includes Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator) as Brainiac.
