This is kind of a weird litmus test. It’s just an assembly of shots from Jaws (which in their own right would make a decent modern day trailer for the film), with the audio track from one of the new Godzilla theatrical trailers laid over it.
On the one hand, it works. On the other, it’s a sobering assessment that perhaps we’re reaching the end of mashup culture. It feels empty to me, perhaps working more effectively as a treatise against the banality of modern trailers themselves?
