How ‘Jurassic Park’ Changed Movies Forever

Jurassic Park

Academy Originals has shared their latest episode of “Moments That Changed The Movies,” this time focusing on Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park.

The video takes a look back at the 1993 classic, the groundbreaking decision to create digital dinosaurs, and the impact it had on the future of movies. What it doesn’t speak to is that Spielberg has talked about doing the dinos in stop-motion or as inflatables (an example would be the “King Kong” rides at Universal Studios). You can learn even more about that on the film’s home video extra features; it’s really cool stuff.

Jurassic Park 3 is on tv right now and its crazy how much better the effects are in the first one. kinda embarrassing actually. don’t get me wrong i enjoy it for what it is but i hope the new one gets back to the quality of Jurassic Park in both script and effects.

Jurassic Park’s special effects still look more realistic than half of what we get these days… isn’t that sad?
