‘Rampage: Capital Punishment’ Trailer Strong On Social Commentary

Rampage: Capital Punishment

Uwe Boll wants to watch the world burn, again.

The German director sucks at what he does, usually, and yet his 2009 Rampage is absolutely wonderful. Maybe all it took was finding something to say?

While it’s a tad severely on the nose, I love the social commentary in the official trailer for Phase 4 Films’ Rampage: Capital Punishment, which looks like Boll’s own version of “Punisher”.

The sequel to Boll’s best-reviewed film, Rampage, launches on DVD/VOD August 19 in the U.S. and October 21 in Canada.

Violent anti-hero Bill Williamson has a plan to change the world by exacting vengeance on the rich and ripping Washington apart. He holds a number of people hostage and uses his captives as his political platform to spread his message and awaken humanity. It’s time to destroy the system and change won’t happen peacefully.

Brendan Fletcher (Rampage, The Pacific, Freddy vs. Jason), Lochlyn Munro (Assault on Wall Street, White Chicks) and Mike Dopud (Smallville, SGU Stargate Universe) star.

  • Looking forward to it.

  • Patrick Cooper

All for this. I love Rampage and really dig Brendan Fletcher too.

I have completely given up on anything with Uwe Boll’s name attached.. The last thing I even remotely liked was “House Of The Dead” and the opening scene in “Postal”. His films are garbage…

    • Umm, you need to watch Rampage. This is actually the sequel if you didn’t know. Also, I haven’t seen “Postal”, but “House of the Dead” was garbage.

I don’t care who Uwe Boll is. Rampage was awesome.

Umm, If you are familiar with Uwe Boll he is beyond infamous for bad movies..He has produced, written and directed more shit than any other writer/director of his time.. He releases up to a half dozen truly horrible films a year.. But when you produce that many films I guess your odds to eventually nail one increases..
with that said I will check out “Rampage” I’ll take your word that he got that one right…

        • diapers

Dude, check it out. I’ve seen a half dozen Boll shit films like Far Cry, and Rampage is a true outlier.

          • Anthony Gulino

yea I just received a copy so I plan on checking it out in the next day or two…. the trailer looks good so I’m hopeful…

          • Watch it yet?

          • Anthony Gulino

Completely got sidetracked with that Scarlet Johanson Under The Skin movie … I’m not sure if I love it or hate it yet…Rampage is on for today..
I’m definatly gonna let ya know either way…

          • Anthony Gulino

Today was the day… got myself a copy of Rampage Uncut and a few hours of seclusion and silence today..
I have to admit I really enjoyed this film…. I was waiting for the inevitable bottom to drop out at any second but the film actually continued to pick up steam as it went along…Impressive!
So this is probably Mr. Uwe Bolls finest hour….
If Boll is infamous for directing bad movies he is at quite another level when it comes to sequels.. His track record might be the very worst of all time..
I really hope he can keep it together for this next installment because for once he nailed it… I’m now actually looking forward to this next chapter….thanks Voohees83 and Diapers I was enlightened today…Ya still might wanna be cautious when you see this guys name stamped on a film…

          • Thought you’d like it.

    • Umm, you need to watch Rampage. This is actually the sequel if you didn’t know. Also, I haven’t seen “Postal”, but “House of the Dead” was garbage.

I don’t care who Uwe Boll is. Rampage was awesome.

i’ve actually never seen any Boll films so i don’t know if he’s a good director or not. going by the comments below RAMPAGE must be pretty good. i’ll check that one out!

  • Werewolf

‘Assault on Wall Street’ was also a really good Boll film. If for nothing other than the subject matter.

  • zombie84_41

I hope they keep making these

  • parsyeb

People who claim Boll is somehow a terrible director need to see something other than his video game adaptations. Rampage, Tunnel Rats, Assault on Wall Street, and the Darfur film are all competently made and deal with edgy, weird-o shit.

I haven’t yet worked up the gall to see his concentration camp film…

    • Mackenzie Lambert

I agree. The further away he gets from video game based films, the better his films are. Postal and Final Storm also merit mentioning.

  • Krug09

I have never seen part 1 but this one actually looks like it could be ok. The House of the Dead was literally the worst movie i have ever seen. At least the room while just as bad was so damn funny therefore entertaining HOTD was just painful. Blood Rayne if thats how its spelt was just a giant useless mess. I have not seen Alone in the Dark.

I liked the first one and hope this one will be enjoyable too… Even though Munroe is awful.
