‘Ouija’ Board Planchette Reveals Vengeful Spirits! (Trailer)

Even though it has been playing in theaters for weeks, Universal Pictures has just now said “yes” to putting the trailer for Ouija online, along with some images and the one-sheet.

In theaters October 24, the movie looks sort of like Final Destination, only they’re being haunted by what appears to be an angry old lady.

The pic stars “Bates Motel” and The Quiet Ones‘ Olivia Cooke, with Douglas Smith and Bianca Santos.

In Ouija, a group of friends must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board.”

Stiles White directs the supernatural thriller that is produced by Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller (The Purge, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th) alongside Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious series, The Purge), Bennett Schneir (Battleship) and Hasbro.

Disappointing trailer. Looks like they’re targeting the tweens for this one.

  • gary

Better not be PG 13 …. otherwise looks okay…. ..another Grudge…

  • Khy

I knew there would be bitching. I don’t see what’s bad about it. Looks like a good time to me. Nothing groundbreaking but it should make for a fun Halloween season outing.

    • Patrick Cooper

I agree. Looks like a good time.

    • Kagutaba

      Ignorance is bliss.

      • Khy

Thank you for that vague-overused statement.

    • marklola12 .

get a life anyone can clearly see your one of these sad idiots who stay on comment sections to make comments on everyones posts like you know better than them lol

      • Khy

Lol and look what you’re doing. Glass houses…

    • allexx

      That’s because you’re an idiot.

      • Khy

That hurts so badly coming from someone who doesn’t know how to spell their own name.

  • J Jett

this looks really good! plus it has Shelley Hennig (TEEN WOLF), Emma Cook and Lin Shaye in it!! i’m in.

    • tyler

      Lin Shaye? …. SOLD!

  • The Devil

Looks like a bad joke. When is the public going to get a supernatural horror film of quality and true terror? This will probably be somewhat entertaining, but come on. Give us something truly terrifying that has actual character development and less weak expository dialogue, more than mere jump scares and simplistic startle-fests, more than cheesy ghosts, more than recycled and regurgitated possession plots, more than 90-minute crapfests. The Exorcist was groundbreaking for its time. What about our time? Where is our groundbreaking supernatural horror film? All we get these days is horror drivel good enough for stoned teenagers falling asleep in their chairs. I adore the concept of horror films, but I haven’t seen a good one in ages. Someone, please do something about this. No more crap. Just no more.

    • Khy

Then stop seeing them and shut the fuck up. While I’m tired of bad movies I’m more so tired of people like you who do nothing but bitch and whine about “Oh when are going to get any good horror movies? I want GOOD horror movies!” and then when something fairly decent comes out those same exact people don’t support it. Ouija might indeed be a piece of shit, I think it looks extremely predictable, that said, I still might can have a little fun with it. It’s…not…that…fucking…serious. Tired of these damn dramatic “Omg horror is nt as good as it used to be” rants from these uppity pretentious douchebags who hates everything that comes after the year 1973. Get over yourself.

      • Kagutaba

Garbage like this is made strictly for money from tweens and people like you who have no standards. I’m not even sure why I’ve wasted this much time typing a comment that will be lost on you regardless.

        • Khy

Of course it’s made for money. That’s what this is you idiot…it’s a business. Every single movie is made for a profit. And I absolutely love how you can tell a faceless stranger on the internet they have “no standards” all because they have a different opinion than you do over a movie. You’re both a regular Einstein AND a Miss Cleo aren’t ya? Fuck off dumb ass..

          • Kagutaba

“Of course it’s made for money. That’s what this is you idiot…it’s a business.”

Wow… lol. There really isn’t anything I can say that would help you.

            “I don’t see what’s bad about it.”

That’s all the info I need, thanks.

          • Khy

            You welcome, bye now.

          • Kagutaba

          • allexx

You have no opinion. You’re a moron.

      • allexx

        • Khy

  • Jonathan Larsson

Gah, they’ve got to be kidding. It’s a decent concept, I give them that, but it’s all wasted on a couple of teenagers that you won’t give a rats bleeding ass if they live or die… scratch that; a couple of teenagers that you care so little about that you just want them to die from their first uttered sentence.
Also, Universal should really reconsider their trailer management, because not only does this one give all the scares away, it’s just dull as fuck.

  • lhcameron

Im only going to see this for Olivia Cooke lol

    • Khy

      Lol I think everyone will.

  • anthonyd1

Looks like a fun ride. Perfect fun Halloween movie. Remember guys horror movies are allowed to be fun too. They don’t all have to be gritty and have a serious tone

  • marklola12 .

ah this is only something I would watch it I was not paying to watch it….just like 99% of so called horror movies today that are not even scary but they put in a few moments where loud music or noise blurts out loud out of nohere and makes you jump or something jumps out from nowhere…apparently that is what horrid is today and scary movies
i asked one of my cousins why they thought certain movies were scary and the said because stuff jumps out the camera…enough said lol

  • Christopher Pelton

I liked this movie the first time they made it.

    • RidleyScottIsADirector@gmail.c

Someone should’ve told the makers of Ouija that there can only be one Ouija board movie, ever.

      • Christopher Pelton

They can certainly make another one, I’m just saying that the first one and it’s two sequels were kind of crap and since it looks like it’s basically the same idea, because let’s be honest there is only one way to go with a movie about a Ouija board, odds are not good that this one will offer anything different.

        • RidleyScottIsADirector@gmail.c

Well yes, one watching a ouija board horror movie should expect people contacting the dead, and being haunted by the dead. I think you should stop talking.

          • Christopher Pelton

A rehash of an 80’s idea plus a license from Hasbro plus a first time director plus it’s produced by Michael Bay! Yeah this is going to be great.

          • RidleyScottIsADirector@gmail.c

There’s an* intelligent response. You’re an idiot, please stop engaging me in a discussion.

          • Christopher Pelton

Yes because clearly I have the ability to force you into a conversation.

  • tyler

Looks entertaining. HOPEFULLY its rated R – doubtful though.

  • Golic

    cliche’ as fuck!

  • diapers

Will entertain to watch this so long as it is rated R.

  • NixEclips

That looks terrible. Laughed at it.

  • REC03

this looks like the usual over produced, slick Platinum Dunes junk. i will watch only for Olivia who is cute as a button.

    • K-Dogg

You nailed it Rec, totally my thoughts, but she is damn cute, love her in Bates.

  • There are FAR too many fades to black in that trailer!

    • jesse s. pierce

as Mildred implied I’m startled that any one able to profit $5370 in 4 weeks on the computer . Check This Out

      M O N e Y KIN. Com

  • Mark Lepine

this looks like an Are you afraid of the Dark episode. Not a bad thing but the trailer hasn’t caught my eye

  • MinaDoll7

Oh God, why use that shit?! But I am intrigued, though not expecting it to be that good. I never want to use or play with a ouija board, let alone be near one. Here are some freaky “true” stories of people who have messed with it:

    • Christopher Pelton

Yeah those tales were truly terrifying. You’re use of quotation marks around the word true are pretty spot on. Give me about a half an hour and I’ll give you another “true” Ouija board story. It’s bollocks.

      • J Jett

        REC03, LOL. awesome!

  • Boxcar

Man this just looks bad. I honestly can’t think of a better or more specific critique. It just looks bad.

“Don’t Move” – Award Winning Demon Short Film (HD…:

  • Sandy N

Ha ha thats Daren Kagasoff (aka Ricky from The Secret Life of the American Teenager) – that’s who I see in this movie.

  • Gianmarco Calandrini

I can say only one thing, there are a lot of bitchies in this film!

  • Olivia Cooke is an actress with a lot of potential for a successful career, and for me, she was the highlight in The Quiet Ones, an overall so-so or BARELY above average horror flick, but this trailer doesn’t show me anything special. I just see another generic and formulaic PG-13 pile of mainstream horror dogshit.

  • GuyFawkesGirlSquaks

Looks like “Jumanji” in the vein of “Oculus.” I would be intrigued to see it if it had the Final Destination feel to it. Everyone goes to see those movies for the fun of the kills. This movie looks like it takes it self a little too seriously

  • Scorpionsy

this does not look remotely scary to me…and yes it does sound like final destination sort of. Pass!
