Two years ago, filmmakers Howard J. Ford and Jon Ford took international audiences on a journey through a zombie-infected African veldt with The Dead. The Ford Brothers have now raised the survival stakes to new dramatic heights with the September 16th Blu-ray and DVD release of The Dead 2, which we now have the following exclusive clip from.

A ship docks fresh from Somalia which contains one infected worker that passes unnoticed into the very heart of India’s overpopulated bustling streets, setting off an unstoppable chain of events. Meanwhile, American turbine engineer Nicholas Burton (Joseph Millson; Casino Royale) is working in the stark yet tranquil Indian countryside when he receives a call from his love Ishani, a local girl who lives on the outskirts of the slums of Mumbai and who has hidden their relationship from her tradition-minded father. She reveals she is now pregnant and scared for her life as chaos and terror have taken ahold of the cities as the dead return to life and attack the living. Nicholas has to battle his way across their 300 mile landscape filled with flesh-eating – and infectious – undead. With the help of young street kid Javed, he has to rely on his wits and sheer brute force to try and save them all, as the clock ticks off the minutes before the last flight out of a living hell…

Bonus features on The Dead 2 Blu-ray and DVD include The Making of The Dead 2 and deleted scenes.

Looks cheap but effective. The first one was decent, except for the ending (to me, you can’t have an enjoyable horror movie **spoilers** if no one survives. Somebody has to live because for any successful movie the audience needs someone to empathize with and if everyone dies so then, too, does the audience, vicariously. Unless the audience is a bunch it goth/emo kids nobody wants that. Even if the survivor is someone we haven’t met until the very end. There needs to be hope, unless we are intended to root for the villain.) **end spoiler** I hope the sequel is as good with a more satisfying ending.

i liked the change of venue in the last film.. Zombie outbreak in Africa was a great change of pace.. I was really psyched to find out they were doing a follow up film but I was really hoping to continue on that guys from Africa’s journey.. They took us though that whole epic he makes it too his companions kid and things go to sh!t, I was really hoping to see what they were gonna do in a obviously bad predicament… Of course I’m still gonna check this out but I have to say I’m a little disappointed that now its like same premise new country..
