[Video] Watch Dokken Perform the ‘Dream Warriors’ Theme Live!

I was there. And it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of fan favorite sequel A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, and we celebrated this past weekend with a truly awesome event in Philadelphia. As we had been hyping for a couple weeks, Bloody Disgusting teamed with Wizard World for the first ever Horror Fest in Philly, which was highlighted by a Saturday night showing of Dream Warriors at Underground Arts that featured LIVE commentary from director Chuck Russell, star Heather Langenkamp, and even The Monster Squad stars Andre Gower and Ryan Lambert.

The movie was followed by a live, acoustic performance from the legendary Don Dokken… and yes, he of course played the iconic Dream Warriors theme song!

I was standing off to the right side of the stage for the entire performance, and as a longtime Dream Warriors fan, it was an experience I’ll never forget. I’ve been to so many conventions and horror events over the years that I can’t help but be a little jaded, but seeing Dokken playing the Dream Warriors theme live was truly special. Dokken may not be able to hit those high notes quite like he did back in the ’80s, but his acoustic spin on the classic song proved he’s damn sure still got it.

If you weren’t able to attend, you can watch the live performance below!

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

Sleepy Hollow movie

Paramount is heading to Sleepy Hollow with a brand new feature film take on the classic Headless Horseman tale, with Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines) announced to direct the movie back in 2022. But is that project still happening, now two years later?

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know this afternoon that Paramount Pictures has renewed its first-look deal with Lindsey Anderson Beer, and one of the projects on the upcoming slate is the aforementioned Sleepy Hollow movie that was originally announced two years ago.

THR details, “Additional projects on the development slate include… Sleepy Hollow with Anderson Beer attached to write, direct, and produce alongside Todd Garner of Broken Road.”

You can learn more about the slate over on The Hollywood Reporter. It also includes a supernatural thriller titled Here Comes the Dark from the writers of Don’t Worry Darling.

The origin of all things Sleepy Hollow is of course Washington Irving’s story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” which was first published in 1819. Tim Burton adapted the tale for the big screen in 1999, that film starring Johnny Depp as main character Ichabod Crane.

More recently, the FOX series “Sleepy Hollow” was also based on Washington Irving’s tale of Crane and the Headless Horseman. The series lasted four seasons, cancelled in 2017.
