‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Trailer Gets Recut in the Style of ‘mother!’

With Darren Aronofsky’s mother! releasing this weekend, it’s pretty crazy that we’re still so in the dark about the film. It’s been compared to Rosemary’s Baby ever since the first trailer hit, which has been played up in the marketing materials, and many have even speculated that it’s a top secret remake of the classic film.

But what if the roles were reversed? What if it was Rosemary’s Baby that came along in the wake of Aronofsky’s latest? This fan-made edit cuts together the Rosemary’s Baby trailer in the style of the mother! trailer, highlighting the links between the two.

Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem star in mother! as a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.

Michelle PfeifferDomnhall GleesonEd Harris and Kristen Wiig also star.

Let them in on September 15, 2017.

I mean, it’s well-edited but, just like modern trailers, it gives away the whole freakin’ movie. :/

No…. It doesn’t. I’m glad to say, cause I saw that damn movie and was not prepared for that final act. I won’t say more then that. Me and my partner both left theater, uttering “wtf”. I loved the movie!

I meant that this recut gives away all of “Rosemary’s Baby,” not “mother!”

Gotcha! But, really you should check Mother! out when it hits theater. I usually don’t recommend films but this one I believe should be experienced.

I wasn’t interested at first but the word-of-mouth had been so good, I might have to check it out in the theaters.

  • Saw the trailer for mother! last night at the cinema and it looks fantastic. Worried it could be all style and no substance but will definitely give it a go either way

Took one look at the trailer, then the cast list at IMDb and concluded it’s a remake of Rosemary’s baby. When you have a character named Him and another called Herald, it’s pretty obvious it’s something satanic.

Even powderpuff girls had a devil villain called “Him”.

Rosemary’s Baby is the first thing I thought of when I saw this trailer, I probably wouldn’t have if the film wasn’t called Mother! but the more I see about it, the more parallels I am seeing (or maybe just assuming).
