[Trailer] Neill Blomkamp is Back With New Shorts ‘ADAM: The Mirror’ & ‘ADAM: The Prophet’

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Neill Blomkamp came out of the gates white hot with his new Oats Studios venture, launching incredible new genre shorts at a rapid fire pace earlier this year. All has been mostly quiet on the Oats Studios front the last couple months, but that silence has just been broken.

Today, Unity Technologies, creator of the world’s most popular creation engine, has announced that they’ve partnered with Blomkamp and Oats Studios on two short films that are headed our way soon: Blomkamp is directing the next installments in the ADAM franchise, ADAM: The Mirror and ADAM: The Prophet.

The first film, ADAM: The Mirror, will premiere during the livestream of the Unite Austin 2017 Keynote, which begins at 4pm Pacific/7 pm Eastern Time tonight.

ADAM: The Prophet will follow before the end of 2017.

The original ADAM was released in 2016 as a short film to demonstrate technical innovations on Unity. ADAM: The Mirror picks up after the end of the events of ADAM where the cyborg hero discovers a clue about what and who he is. ADAM: The Prophet gives viewers their first glimpse of one of the villains in the ADAM universe.

“Created and produced by Blomkamp’s OATS Studios using the latest version of Unity 2017, these short films showcase the power of working within an integrated real-time environment – empowering the team to build, texture, animate, light, and render all in Unity to deliver high-quality graphics at a fraction of the cost and time of a normal film production cycle.”
