[Video] Retro Video Shop Commercial for ‘Ghostbusters’ VHS Will Warm Your Heart

You need a smile today. And we promise this will do the trick.

No matter how much we may love the convenience of digital rentals, I think it’s pretty safe to say that we all miss literally everything about the video store experience. Before Blockbuster took over, in particular, those independent video shops were almost literally heaven on Earth, and we’ll likely forever be in mourning over their collective death.

Thankfully, at the very least, the internet is preserving some of that glory.

The fine folks over on Lunchmeat VHS, for example, just tracked down one of the most joy-inducing retro commercials we’ve ever seen. It’s a 1985 TV spot for the long-dead shop Video Biz, once located in Arlington, Texas. At the time, Ghostbusters was soon arriving in the shop, and they cut together a DIY commercial to promote it.

Enjoy. And kudos on the find, Lunchmeat!
