‘Dismissed’ Clip Debates Heroism

Mumblecore veteran and recent Emmy-winner Kent Osborne (Uncle Kent) and Dylan Sprouse (Disney’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” Big Daddy) star in BoulderLight Pictures’ thriller Dismissed, which marks the feature directorial debut of Benjamin Arfmann, who previously directed the acclaimed SXSW short “Random Stop.”

In the film, an idealistic, straight-laced English teacher (Osborne) is drawn down a nightmarish rabbit hole by an honor roll student (Sprouse) who will stop at nothing to get an ‘A.’

Rounding out the cast will be Randall Park (The Interview), Chris Bauer (“True Blood”) and Alycia Delmore (Humpday).

Here’s a new clip from the film now on VOD and digital platforms.

I’d have to read the rest of the paper or see the film to follow the thesis, but there is an interesting point being made: “Honest” Iago is, indeed, the only one that is totally open about his own opinion of himself. Whether or not that makes him “heroic” is questionable at best, but still, at the least, interesting.
