‘Bright’ Clip Pushes Comedy During a Car Chase

Here’s the first official clip from Bright, the latest film from director David Ayer (Suicide Squad and End of Watch) starring Will Smith (I Am Legend), Joel Edgerton (The Gift), and Noomi Rapace (Alien: Covenant, Prometheus). In it, Smith and Edgerton are in a highspeed chase, shooting guns and throwing zingers (look out!) at each other. Yup, it’s a buddy comedy!

In the film, “Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been coexisting since the beginning of time, this action-thriller directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, End of Watch, writer of Training Day) follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward, a human (Will Smith), and Jakoby, an orc (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine night patrol that will alter the future of their world as they know it. Battling both their own personal differences as well as an onslaught of enemies, they must work together to protect a young female elf and a thought-to-be-forgotten relic, which in the wrong hands could destroy everything.”

The Netflix original film, arriving on December 22, also stars Lucy Fry, Edgar Ramirez, Ike Barinholtz, Enrique Murciano, Jay Hernandez, Andrea Navedo, Veronica Ngo, Alex Meraz, Margaret Cho, Brad William Henke, Dawn Olivieri, and Kenneth Choi.

The film is written by Max Landis (Chronicle, Victor Frankenstein). David Ayer, Eric Newman, and Bryan Unkeless serve as producers.

    This movie looks awful

When it was first announced I thought it was a joke movie from a show or movie about Hollywood where they make fun of stupid movie ideas like this.

I honestly thought, when I first heard about it, that it sound interesting. The more they show of it though the worse it looks. Pretty sure at this point Ayer got lucky with End of Watch, because Fury and Suicide Squad were shit and this is looking to be at that end of his spectrum

I thought Fury was good, but the only thing that threw me off and bothered me was the laser light show coming out of every gun.

I can’t support any films with Will Smith in them. If I did, I’d be part of the problem.

Looks like another ‘Bad Boys’ only with a splash of Fantasy, and instead his partner is Joel Edgerton and he’s a ‘Orc’ or whatever it’s called. Nothing special about it really!

I wonder what they were thinking with this movie

I kinda wish it was TV series.

This seems like it’s either gonna be a lot of dumb fun or godawful. Can’t imagine much in between.
