Trailer Previews Netflix Nostalgia Series “The Toys That Made Us”

Now this is our kind of Christmas gift.

Netflix has been wonderfully tapping into our collective nostalgia with “Stranger Things, and they’re soon providing more nostalgic pleasures with “The Toys That Made Us.”

The Netflix documentary series is all about the history of important toy lines.

The first four episodes of “The Toys That Made Us,” covering Masters of the Universe, Star Wars, Barbie and G.I. Joe, will hit Netflix on December 22, just in time for Christmas!

Sweet. I was born in 81 so I remember going to the department store in the mid 80’s buying all these things.

Same birth year here too. I loved digging through the masters of the universe figures trying to finally find that fake/blue he-man figure (can’t even remember his name now). Then I moved into the thundercats, madballs, battle beast and ninja turtles. I would love to go back and collect that stuff but some is way too pricey now.

Your thinking of ‘Faker’. Storywise I think he was an imposter for Skeletor who replaced He-Man. Don’t quote me though not entirely sure, that was a ling time ago. Read the He-Man comics and was a fan of the old 80’s cartoon.

I was Star Wars, G.I.JOE, and Transformers (G1 all the way!)

    Creepy Crawlers made me.

He-Man was my favorite. Every week I’d buy a new action figure with my weekly allowance ($5). Micro Machines were cool too.

There was no internet (hell, my family didn’t even have cable tv) so toys, afternoon cartoons and movies were everything back then. Atari fell to Nintendo’s rise. Horror movies were actually creative. Sci-Fi was king at the theaters. The 80’s were awesome!
