Meet the “FredHeads” In New ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ Doc Trailer

Wes Craven‘s A Nightmare on Elm Street is a global cultural phenomenon that has given eternal life to its legacy and its villain, Freddy Krueger. FredHeads is a documentary that shines a spotlight on the fervent fans within the Elm Street community.

FredHeads‘ central theme analyzes how being a fan can change your life. The filmmakers have been traveling the country to speak with enthusiasts of all types: passionate fanatics, lifelong aficionados, cosplayers, creators, artists, filmmakers, kids, and more.

The documentary also features insight from the stars and creatives of the Elm Street franchise, exploring the enduring legacy, cultural impact, and fan community. Interview subjects include Lisa Wilcox, Robert Kurtzman, Tuesday Night, Miko Hughes, Danny Hassel, Andras Jones, Toy Newkirk, Kelly Jo Minter, Ricky Dean Logan, and Mick Strawn, among others.

Venn Pictures and Northgate Pictures have launched an Indiegogo in order to complete production on the ambitious project: http://bit.ly/FredHeads

The crowdfunding campaign allows fans to pre-order a limited edition DVD of the documentary, ensuring that they will be among the first to see FredHeads. T-shirts, pins, posters, soundtracks, and sunglasses are among the available merchandise. One-of-a-kind perks from Elm Street alumni are also up for grabs, including prop replicas signed by Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund.

FredHeads is directed by Paige Troxell, who credits A Nightmare on Elm Street with saving her life. “In my darkest times I have turned to Elm Street. It is a survival story, it is my best friend, it is my comfort, and it is my home,” gushes Troxell. “I knew that there were others out there who saw this film for more than just the typical slasher. It is my goal to bring to life each and every story; to show the world that this community stands together, that we are a support team for each other.”

The FredHeads team loves to hear from fellow fans, so be sure to visit http://facebook.com/FredHeadsDoc to find out how you can submit your story.

I dig it. I liked the song they used for the teaser too.

I’m looking forward to the upcoming Schaecheads documentary. The Horror Icon Johnathon Schaech’s fan base is legion, for we are many.

An interesting titbit that many don’t realise, but did you all know that William Peter Blatty’s sequel to The Exorcist, Legion, was actually written originally about the ability of Johnathon Schaech’s spiritual presence to enter the minds of bodies of movie goers everywhere?

      Johnathon Schaech for Freddy!

Holy shit – I thought that was Tommy Wasou at the 46 second mark!

Saturn, did you see this? i posted it on the “hi rez MEG pic” article on this site but it probably didn’t stand out at all. it’s the Reddit AMA with our Savior Schaech. he seems like a really nice guy in his comments with people (despite some people in that AMA being really rude to him).

I imagine those who He spoke with will be able to talk to their grand-children about the experience in years to come?
They do say that more people remember clearly speaking with the Schaech-Father than those who remember what they were doing when JFK was shot.
They should all feel blessed – and should probably see if any of that luck is still rubbing off on them by doing the lotto.

          i know, right? LOL.

Saturn, i just finished watching DAY OF THE DEAD: SCHAECHLINES and it’s one of the worst zombie movies i’ve ever seen. Schaech was (no surprise) the best thing in the movie. the lead girl “scientist” is one of THE most mind-numbingly god awful characters i’ve ever seen (and the actress herself is not a good actress). she literally gets almost every person killed in the film. i haven’t hated a character as much as i hate her since THE STRAIN’s Zach character.
oh and the storyline makes no sense. female “scientist”/bimbo is creating a vaccine (which will keep people from turning if bitten) but it’s explicitly shown throughout the film (in EVERY case) that the zombies don’t just bite once and move on. they decimate their victims to where there’s hardly anything left. the vaccine the idiot scientist bimbo is making (that cost 50 plus people their lives) is useless/pointless.

Unless we are doing some kind of troll thing I wasn’t invited to, why exactly do people want the That Thing You Do guy to be Freddy? I mean, the guy doesn’t bother me, I like him, but Freddy?

Now imagine the hat being a Fredora, the scarred face a little more beaten up, and instead of that confederate(?) uniform a green and red sweater, with blade gloved hand held at an angle across the face.

      Schaecky Krueger.

It makes perfect sense for THE horror icon of our, and every other, time to actually make the character of Freddy truly iconic.

After Lord Schaech has rewritten the rules, yet again, on horror excellence, people will be saying Robert Who?

Oh, and DeadFuck, consider yourself invited…

Now, if anyone out there has the skill-set to photoshop our horror Emperor Shaech into a Freddy costume,we can post it and make this thing a reality!
2018 WILL be the year of the Schaech!
Hopefully we can have the movie in theatre’s for this Schaechtembers Blood Moon Sacrifice.

      Johnathon Schaech for Freddy!

You are the kind of weirdo that keeps the internet interesting. Thank you, Sir.

        • Saturn

Are you sure you’re not my mum, posting under a pseudonym?
That’s exactly what she used to say to me before locking me in the cellar.

  • suckit15694

Cool but that 20 hour doc wasn’t enough

  • Necro

Any clue on the documentary about Robert going through the entire makeup process?

  • Necro

Cool I definitely like this, cuz without the fans what do they got really? Now I know movies and music are known to change people’s lives, save their lives, and just be really special to certain individuals. But just generally speaking though without the fans there is nothing!
