‘Breaking In’: Thieves Lock a Mother Out of Her House [Trailer]

Payback is a mother.

This coming Mother’s Day, Gabrielle Union stars as a woman who will stop at nothing to rescue her two children being held hostage in a house designed with impenetrable security. No trap, no trick and especially no man inside can match a mother with a mission when she is determined on breaking in.

This new thriller is directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta, Sense8) and co-stars Billy Burke (Twilight series), Richard Cabral (End of Watch), Seth Carr (Black Panther) and Ajiona Alexus (“Empire”).

Universal will break back in on May 13, 2018.

  • Im usually a sucker for the cheesy thrillers Hollywood throw out yearly (Unforgettable, Obsessed, No Good Deed) but this actually looks like a decent thrill ride, I adore Gabrielle and really wish there was more black heroines in horror, it is just really refreshing. Either way Im on board for this!

Gotta agree there! Whilst the movie does look guid and with a twist on a tired genre, it’s great that it features a fierce, black female protagonist…

      • Gotta agree 100 percent on the tired genre, it’s interesting how they basically inverted the genre! And I really like how you would never know how fierce this mother is til shit hits the fan, Gabrielle Union always looks so calm and collected and often plays characters like that, so again it’s a nice surprise to see her in this type of role

I never knew she was a rape survivor until she was on a Talk show. She was attacked when she worked at a Shoe store. The creep was a serial rapist. Been a fan for awhile.

Shit!!! This actually looks pretty damn good!

Gotta love a good “trapped in the house” thriller and this is a promising twist! Curious to see how nasty it gets – looks like it might be setting up for a PG-13 rating.

    Looks good!!

That Rihanna song killed it for me. Pass.

This looks like it could be good or fun to watch. And I like the idea of the protagonist having to break into her own home, ironic for a home invasion film lol. I wish the trailer didn’t show her reuniting with her kids, it gives too much of the film away.

So it’s just like the Jodie Foster film ‘Panic Room’, only it’s an entire house, call it ‘Panic House’! I can hear my wife already “can we go see it?”
