Dating back to 1995, a towering statue of the Heisei-era Godzilla has been proudly on display at Tokyo’s Hibiya Chanter Square, which has just been officially renamed Godzilla Square. Additionally, the classic Godzilla statue was just replaced by the Big G’s newly-designed iteration from Shin Godzilla, a mega hit over in Japan.

The nearly 10-foot-tall Shin Godzilla statue was erected today, and you can watch the unveiling ceremony below. A true “out with the old, in with the new” moment!

What will become of the Heisi Godzilla statue, you ask? That’s being relocated to the inside of Toho Cinemas Hibiya, set to go on display on March 29.
