Yeah I agree with your list for the most part almost completely. 4 is definitely overrated and five was atrocious. I thought six was pretty terrible as well, and New Nightmare was great when it came out but it has not aged well at all. That movie looks awful. Freddy vs. Jason hasn’t aged well either. It’s so silly and camp…it has that Scream horror taint all over it. It could have been amazing but they went for the meta humor garbage and its now in the dust bin with H20 as movies that tried far to hard to leech off the Scream meta thing…

Yeah I was in 4th grade when Dream Warriors came out. Back then I thought it was so much better than the original. I think because of the horror mixed with super hero element. As a kid having fantastic powers to battle bad guys appeals to you.

However now that I am almost 39 I have to strongly disagree. While Dream Warriors is very good it doesn’t hold a candle to the original. It hasn’t aged as well as the original either.

I find myself watching the original far more often than I do Dream Warriors. Maybe it’s because Dream Warriors was the start of funny comic Freddy vs. the terrifying monster that he was in the original.

The second movie which I hated isn’t so bad in retrospect. Freddy is still pretty nasty and evil in that movie and there are not that many silly one liners. It just seems the second movie had this intentional homo erotic tint to it..

I’d give it a watch just to say I did.

By the time Dream Master came out freddy was HUGE. reeking havoc on pop culture as we speak, everybody at that point was rooting for the comical dream deamon. XD

I love Freddy’s nightmares, it has a lot of charm and is incredibly fun to watch.
I’d take it over Dream Child, Dream Master, New Nightmare, Freddy Vs Jason and the remake any day of the week

1 & 3 were fantastic, 2 is underrated, 4 is overrated(mixed bag imo), 5 is mediocre and the weakest of the 6 original Elm street films, 6 was an absolute ‘loony tunes on elm street’ blast and new nightmare IMO is the absolute worst. it hasn’t aged well at-all.

Freddy vs Jason was a hoot during it’s day, even though it could of been so much better, meanwhile lets just forget the remake was ever made.

the whole show is terrible. it never aired here so i saw both seasons for the first time a few years ago and damn….. but i won’t lie, i’m a huge Nightmare fan and would buy an official release on day one!! i got a fanmade set but its obvously copied from VHS tapes, has a terrible fuzzy picture, tracking issues and all….made for a nostalgic watch. lol
