Afflicted was excellent. Very well made and acted. The first half of the movie is superior to the second but iI’d still highly recommend it overall. Also, The Taking of Deborah Logan is very good, even quite moving, with a great lead performance. Also The Possession of Micheal King is worth checking out even if it is a bit contrived and predictable.

I don’t like found footage at all either but with Exists man they definitely made it work PERFECTLY.

LOL but it definitely had some creepy moments, like the spirit/demon entity that’s on the cover, that scene actually creeped me out. Definitely a Ghost Adventures rip off, it’s like a long season finale of a Ghost Adventure episode that we all want to happen so we can see some crazy shit happen lol so we got Grave Encounters.

maybe i shouldn’t have watched any episodes of ghost adventures. it was such an obvious ripoff i was completely floored. Even my daughter (A diehard ghost adventures fan) made the comment that the lead guy even “looked like a skinnier version of the guy from ghost adventures.” That movie was the epitome of cheap scares and tired gags – for me.

with you all the way. the movie blew my mind. i knew it was a REAL winner when my wife loved it… she fucking HATES found footage, and she didn’t stop talking about the bigfoot costume for a week lol

I agree Exists is the best Big Foot adaption film to date. Creepy, great characters and acting, the suspense everything it actually made me scared of BigFoot if I was to come across the one they portrayed in that film I’d be in deep shit lol.

it’s definitely disturbing, the problem is it isn’t enjoyable in the least bit. I think i had a repulsed look on my face for the whole 90 minutes.

exists is EXPONENTIALLY superior to Willow Creek. It’s so far ahead of that film it’s absurd. Willow Creek was two not quite likable characters talking and walking until they get into a tent, sit there for 23 minutes in which nothing happens until the last 37 seconds. MASSIVE disappointment. Skip it at ll costs and go with exists – AMAZING found footage and hands down the best big foot film ever shot.

is there an american release of noroi? I actually bought a disc at a damn flea market, got it home and it had no english subs and no option for them. my heart sank and i still haven’t seen it.

I headed out to Hollywood and had lunch and a few drinks with Ryan McCoy – the stories he told me about that flick were awesome. And he’s an awesome, awesome guy. Also really enjoyed the film – remains one of the least appreciated FF films out there. Too bad people didn’t appreciate a new idea.

I really enjoyed Apollo 18 too! I feel like I saw a very different movie to what the critics saw – I thought it was really, really well done. The effects were great too.

Along similar lines, Europa Report is another unsung hero of mockumentary/FF films. Love the genre when it’s put into a space-ish setting!

Yep, Lake Mungo was brilliant. The sense of dread that built throughout the movie was deliberate and honest. The reveal in the latter half of the film could have killed it, but the final reveal put a spin on it I wasn’t expecting, and really elevated the movie to a total classic, for me at least.

There’s pure horror in Banshee Chapter that absolutely hits the nail on the head, and it’s the kind of horror that almost nobody else is doing. And they should be. I honestly don’t get why it’s not more highly thought of. Those faces are terrifying, and the Lovecraftian ‘something’s coming’ bits were spot on. Also, no cheesy jump-scares. Anything even remotely jumpy was set up brilliantly and earned it’s place in the film.

Lake Mungo gave me the creeps, big time. Not my favorite FF movie but definitely one of the best.

Akumajo, is technically correct. Banshee Chapter blends both FF with traditional narrative, more like District 9 does. But some folks consider us FF and I’m fine with it. I’m the writer/director, so glad to know people are loving it.

Of course, Cloverfield is great stuff too.

I want a REAL sequel to Cloverfield too. I so loved that movie.
