Pet Sematary Two

Mary Lambert‘s 1992 sequel Pet Sematary Two is coming to Scream Factory Collector’s Edition Blu-ray next year, and we’ve got artwork and early details for you today.

The national street date for North America (Region A) is February 25, 2020, and Scream Factory says new extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date.

They add that director Mary Lambert is “on board and very excited about the release.”

Scream Factory also notes today that this release is being presented as a Collector’s Edition and will come guaranteed with a slipcover in its first three months of release. The newly commissioned artwork you see pictured below comes to us from artist Laz Marquez. This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will feature the original theatrical artwork.

In Pet Sematary Two, which is not a werewolf movie despite the art’s suggestion, “After the death of his wife, veterinarian Chase Matthews (Anthony Edwards) and his 13-year-old son, Jeff (Edward Furlong), move to Ludlow to rebuild their lives. Antagonized by the neighborhood kids, Jeff befriends another outsider, Drew Gilbert, who lives in fear of his cruel stepfather, Gus (Clancy Brown). After Gus cold-bloodily shoots Drew’s beloved dog, the boys bury the body in the local Indian burial grounds – a place rumored to have the powers of resurrection. But when evil is awakened, the boys realize that sometimes you should just let dead dogs lie.”

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
