The Complete First Season of HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” Comes to DVD and Blu-ray in February

Those who either don’t have HBO/HBO Max or just plain want to own the season will be happy to hear that Misha Green‘s HBO series “Lovecraft Country” is headed to Blu-ray.

“Lovecraft Country: The Complete First Season” brings both socially-relevant racist terrors and monster/paranormal mayhem to DVD and Blu-ray on February 16, 2021.

“Lovecraft Country” is based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff.

The series follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he joins up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth Williams).

This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from an H.P. Lovecraft paperback.

Executive producers include Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams.

One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!

The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences.
