It’s interesting you say that, (no-middle-of-the-road popcorn film here). I can’t think of anyone I’ve come across in person or online who was like “Martyrs was okay,”. People seem to either love it or hate it, no in-between. Again, if someone loves this movie or any other that I don’t I’m not gonna be an asshole and say they have bad taste. I just don’t understand why they can’t extend that same respect to me. And I agree with you about the “bored or ambivalent” part. I can enjoy a bad movie if it’s fun and not boring (I still have fun with the original Leprechaun and Pumpkinhead 2: Blood Wings) but a boring movie is unforgivable, particularly if I paid to see it in theaters. Like Ouija, which I didn’t see in the theater, thank God, but fuck me, it was both bad and boring and I was so glad I didn’t waste 11 bucks on it (no offense if you liked that movie but it seems like almost no one did).

Yeah Dude, that movie is just relentless. It starts out exciting and never lets up until the last scene, which was fucking awesome. Non stop action, non stop drama, non stop tension, just a bad ass movie that is severely underrated.
I actually did watch the American version of ‘Oldboy’ and it was a decent movie surprisingly. There must have been something lost in translation, because I didn’t fully understand the details of why this guy imprisoned Oldboy. Now that I do, it makes much more sense and made the movie a bit more enjoyable. Decent remake in my humble opinion.

Hi Chuck, “I saw the Devil” is quite possibly the best COP movie I have ever seen. Considering the mess the US “Oldboy” was, there is no way the cultural aspects of this drama would ever translate to an American audience.
My wife doesn’t like such films, but she said “I Saw The Devil” was one of the most gripping cop dramas ever.

Love the brothers and sisters in horror line, Leebo. Also keeping in mind that different things affect people differently, its been discussed on this site that some people have trouble watching animals, babies, women, etc be mistreated, maimed, tortured or killed, but some people aren’t affected by it. Absolutely everything is subjective.

I hated the original movie, too, so I guess I also have bad taste (not that I give a fuck about what the people on this site think). I’m beyond sick of the fucking self-assigned “horror authorities” on this site and others acting like they’re superior to the rest of us just because they like some fucking movie that we don’t. That aside i really don’t think its fair, this is a news site with a comment section. I bought the movie to watch it, its not like i went to the fan page and trolled. I hated the movie. I never said “if you like it you are dumb” or something like that. If a person enjoys it, thats cool but i didn’t. I don’t want to be told i have bad taste in movies. The first guy implies i have bad taste. Fine i give them a reply… I have to hear again from someone who liked the damn comment “you got bad taste”? I was just annoyed.

I am actually a nice guy but if people want to be rude, i will give it back to them. I also edited out the “fuck you” because it is wrong. I just don’t like being treated badly.
