I really, really dug Starry Eyes when I first saw it at SXSW (review here). But something interesting has happened to me in the 5 or so months since I’ve seen the film… I can’t stop thinking about it. So much so that I’m beginning to think I was actually too hard on the film back then, as it really is a thoughtful, gory blast.

So I’m thrilled that Bloody-Disgusting is hosting the Los Angeles premiere for the film as part of this year’s Beyond Fest (which has a killer lineup in its own right). While the specific date of the premiere has yet to be announced, the fest takes place at the Egyptian Theater (6712 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028) between September 25th and October 4th. My advice to you? Don’t make any other plans for that week since every night has something special. Just be there.

The Starry Eyes screening will feature a Q&A with writer/directors Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer along with the film’s star, Alex Essoe. Trust me, you’re going to want to see this film with an audience and watch everyone around you lose their sh*t in the last act. Also, the fact that the film was shot right in that neighborhood (with a key scene right across the street) should certainly add to the vibe.
