The Rookery, located on 2109 Chicago Ave. in Chicago, IL becomes Room 237 this Saturday night, January 20, a limited time popup bar with a The Shining theme!

“It’s the dead of winter in Chicago, IL. And Chicago winters can make you go a little crazy. So come play with us at Room 237 at The Rookery, celebrating the dark and mysterious energy of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining.

The first of a regular weekly event, Room 237 welcomes you to have a bourbon on the rocks from the best goddamned bartender from Timbuktu to Portland, Maine. (Or Portland, Oregon, for that matter), and step back in time into a different world that will electrify your nights, and haunt your days. “

  • Drink with Jack Torrance all night and other actors portraying classic roles from The Shining.
  • Have Lloyd, the best goddamned bartender, pour you Shining inspired cocktails such as The Caretaker, Apollo 11, The Hedge Maze, and of course, Redrum.
  • Enjoy Stephen King Trivia with The Losers’ Club from 9-10pm hosted by Consequence of Sound.
  • Revel in the music of True Mother Records’ Matt Wells and Mark Gertz of Dark Wave Disco.

Learn more and RSVP over on the official Room 237 Facebook event page.
