Announced earlier this year, Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey will pair up Harley Quinn with other female characters from the DC Universe, including the now-confirmed Black Canary, Huntress, Cassandra Cain and Renee Montoya. But who will the ass-kicking girl gang be doing battle with in the film? The Wrap brings us the scoop tonight.

According to the site, Black Mask has been confirmed as the film’s villain, which will mark the character’s debut appearance in the world of live action cinema. The site details…

“Created by Doug Moench and Tom Mandrake, Black Mask made his first appearance in the comics in August 1985’s Batman issue #386. The Black Mask is a brutally sadistic kingpin in Gotham City’s criminal underworld who has a fixation with masks.”

Margot Robbie will reprise the role of Harley Quinn, the gang’s leader.

Christina Hodson is working on the script. Robbie is also producing.
