New Teaser Trailer for Rupert Wyatt’s ‘Captive State’ Promises Crazy, Original Sci-fi Starring John Goodman
Holy shit, what the hell even is that at 1:15?! We need this right now.
Aliens have taken over in Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt‘s Captive State, which was originally set for release this year but was bumped back to early 2019.
John Goodman and Vera Farmiga star in the sci-fi film, which gets its second teaser trailer today. This one looks to be the sort of original sci-fi/horror we’re always craving, feeling like a mix between They Live, The Purge and Cloverfield. We are so on board this particular ship.
Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extraterrestrial force…
“Captive State explores the lives on both sides of the conflict – the collaborators and dissidents.”
Wyatt also co-wrote the original screenplay with Erica Beeney. The cast also features Ashton Sanders (Moonlight) and Jonathan Majors.
The film is produced by David Crockett and Rupert Wyatt and executive produced by Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King.
Focus Features will release Captive State in U.S. theaters on March 29, 2019.
