One of the most exciting horror projects on the horizon is that Leigh Whannell has written and will be directing a new The Invisible Man movie for Blumhouse and Universal, part of a new initiative from Universal in the wake of the failure of their Dark Universe. The lower-budget film is said to be character driven and scary, and casting is now underway.

Back in March, we heard that Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”, Jordan Peele’s Us) was in the early stages of negotiations to star in the film, and Deadline is reporting this morning that she’s now officially 100% on board. It has been *rumored* that Moss is playing the character who turns invisible, but at this time, nothing has been confirmed.

Johnny Depp, who had been previously attached to The Invisible Man when it was going to be rebooted for the Dark Universe, is reportedly not part of this project.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Prequel ‘Furiosa’ Rated “R” for “Strong Violence” and “Grisly Images”

Anya Taylor-Joy fights the world in George Miller’s hotly anticipated Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the upcoming prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road that’s coming next month.

Warner Bros.’ Furiosa has been rated “R” this week for…

“Sequences of strong violence, and grisly images.”

Furiosa will release in theaters on May 24, 2024. The film will tell the origin story of the character Charlize Theron made famous in Fury Road, also directed by George Miller.

“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Chris Hemsworth co-stars as Warlord Dementus.

Whereas Fury Road essentially happened over three days and two nights, this happens over many years,” Miller had teased during a press conference last year.

Miller is co-writing and directing the movie for Warner Bros.

Back in 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road grossed nearly $400 million worldwide at the box office and won SIX Oscars, while also scoring rave reviews nearly across the entire board.

Last we heard, Miller also intends on making sequels centered on Tom Hardy‘s Mad Max.
