Changeling Puts on a Human Mask in Irish Horror ‘You Are Not My Mother’ [Image]

ScreenDaily shares the very first photo from the new Halloweentime horror You Are Not My Mother, the feature debut of writer-director Kate Dolan.

The film takes an interesting spin on the holiday, utilizing a doppelganger of a family member to create the horror.

“In You Are Not My Mother, when a mother returns home after disappearing the week before Halloween, her daughter notices that her behavior has changed and is increasingly frightening. When Halloween night arrives, the daughter realizes she is the only one who can save her.”

Inspired by the ancient mythology of the changeling, a creature that takes on human form, it does call to mind one of the best scenes in It Follows.

The film stars Hazel Doupe, Carolyn Bracken and Jordanne Jones.

Currently in post-production, UK-based sales agency Bankside Films is handling worldwide rights.

Dolan’s previous work includes the 2017 horror short Catcalls, shared below.
