New Synopses and Second Trailer For ‘Ju-On’ Sequels
Back in April we brought you a duel trailer, stills and first details on two brand new sequels to the Japanese horror franchise Ju-On, which arrives in Japanese theaters June 27th. Today, new synopses were discovered, along with a second, newly edited trailer. You can dig on both beyond the break, what do you guys think? I’d love to see this franchise bring something new to the table.
Ju-on: Shiroi Roujo, written and directed by Ryuta Miyake, stars Akina Minami as a high school girl with a sixth sense named Akane, who starts having disturbing visions of a childhood best friend who recently died in a family murder-suicide.
Ju-on: Kuroi Shojo, written and directed by Mari Asato, stars Ai Kago as a nurse named Yuko who cares for a young girl who has a strange cyst inside her body. The cyst turns out to be the leftover grudge of an unborn baby and begins to spread to the surrounding people, driving them mad.

‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ – First Images Preview the Monster Team-Up You’ve Been Waiting For
Godzilla and King Kong are putting their differences aside next year in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and IGN has shared three first look images from the movie today.
In a chat with the site, director Adam Wingard teases the monster they’ll be teaming up to fight. He calls the new threat “a devilish, Kong-type character.”
Wingard previews, “We wanted to come up with an antagonist that would both be a match for Kong and Godzilla, and that’s really hard to do. There’s a lot more to this character and how he’s a threat, and that’s going to be something that’s going to be fun to kind of dole out.”
Godzilla x Kong will release in theaters on April 12, 2024!
In 2021, the entertainment universe known as the Monsterverse delivered Godzilla vs. Kong, a true cultural event and the ultimate pop culture throw down as two cinematic Titans faced off in a spectacular big screen battle that smashed the global box office.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the thrilling fifth film in the Monsterverse series and sees the legendary Titans Godzilla and Kong team up to face a world-ending threat so terrifying that neither could survive alone.
Coming off the heels of the success of Godzilla vs. Kong, breakout director Adam Wingard returns to the Monsterverse and is joined by returning cast, including Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as fan-favorite Bernie Hayes and Kaylee Hottle as Jia. Dan Stevens, Fala Chen and Rachel House also join the cast.
The screenplay is by Simon Barrett (You’re Next, The Guest).
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will transport audiences into the unexplored depths of a brave new world of spectacular new monsters, heroic adventurers, and awe-inspiring set pieces on a scale unlike anything ever seen before. This promises to be a true cinematic spectacle that demands to be seen on the biggest screens possible.
“This latest entry in the Monsterverse franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”
Legendary’s Monsterverse is an expansive story universe centering around humanity’s battle of survival against real, life-threatening monsters. It began back in 2014 with Godzilla and continued with 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong. These films have accrued close to $2 billion at the global box office.
