That’s one of the best / worst aspects of reviewing things. It’s a totally subjective endeavor. I feel like I made a case for why the game was subpar, but you might have liked the things that I found repetitive or whatever. What did you like about the game? I’m always looking for a convincing argument so that I can see things differently. I love the Resident Evil franchise, but this game just didn’t do it for me.

Yeah, I’ve totally got to take the lumps on this one. I do like that they included more than just zombies and infected dogs, but I kind of wish they had done more with them. Some of the enemies were just re-skinned versions of other monsters, and the attacks varied only slightly. Maybe my expectations were too high, considering the name Resident Evil on the cover, but I think I just wanted more from the game.

I agree that the bonus missions filled in some of the narrative gaps, and it does get some points for being a competent rail shooter at home, but the nostalgia wasn’t enough to carry me through. I found the game to be quite repetitive, once the novelty of being in the old universe wore off. However, I wouldn’t have disliked the game as much if the controls weren’t so inconsistent.
