Several Must-See Horror Art Shows and Pieces For Halloween!

Its’ a great time of year if you are looking to fill your walls with some sweet horror art. Here’s the lowdown on several awesome shows and pieces you can pick up this month.

Eelus’s Horror Show

For the first solo show in his new home town of Brighton, Eelus has decided to step away from the child friendly, rainbow like images he’s had so much success with over the last couple of years and return to his darker roots. ‘Horrorshow’ will feature a brand new body of work made from hand-cut paper that focuses entirely on his number one love of horror imagery from the silver-screen, pulp comics and classic literature. The show is also timed perfectly for Halloween and so horror fancy dress is encouraged and there may be a little gruesome gift for all those who make the effort! Opens Friday, October 18th.

Gallery 1988’s “SAY HI TO THE BAD GUY” Art Show

The show is “Crazy 4 Cult presents…Say Hi To The Bad Guy” and is a slight extension of their annual Crazy 4 Cult show. For this show, the artists have been told they can only depict the villains or the bad guys from cult films (and some TV shows) and that’s it. A nice spin on what everyone has become used to. Opens Friday, Oct 18th at 7PM in LA. Prints below by Joshua Budich, 100% Soft and Danielle Murray Rizzolo.

NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 25th Anniversary Print

The screenprint commemorates the 25th anniversary of Kevin Tenney’s Night of the Demons, which was released on October 14, 1988. Designed by Matthew Skiff and limited to only 50 pieces, the poster measures 18×24 and features a hidden glow-in-the-dark layer. Each one is printed on 100lb French Poptone Grapesicle stock by Danny “ohdanielsan” Askar. They cost $40. Strange Kids Club teamed up with artist Matthew Skiff for the design, which depicts the entire horrifying cast of the cult classic. “I could go on forever as to why I love Night of the Demons so much,” explains Skiff, “But it boils down to it having the perfect balance of scary and goofy, and it’s the perfect Halloween movie. I wanted to capture as many characters as I could that made the movie so perfect, as well as the notorious ‘lipstick scene’ that you just have to see to believe.”

Ghoulish Gary Pullin’s FRIGHT NIGHT Print For Poster Collective

Full Disclosure: I own and operate Poster Collective, but we also got in the horror art game this month with so I wanted to share.

“FRIGHT NIGHT is the benchmark film for 1980′s horror,” states Gary, “It’s a fan favourite and for good reason – the film is a trick or treat bag brimming with ghoulish fun. It’s sharply written, rife with atmosphere and pitch black humour. It’s a spookshow through and through and provides some of the best examples of practical FX work ever created. For this newly inspired print, we wanted to try and capture some of those elements but also bring in something unexpected. We, the viewer, are the vampire next door, peering into Charley Brewster’s bedroom window. We are the threat, but he’s ready. He’s been watching FRIGHT NIGHT!I also had a bit of fun hiding a few little details from the film, but we’re hoping you will invite this print into your home to find them all.”

A regular teal version and a super limited double metallic version are on sale here.
