The only thing that really bothered me was the calls to the emergency services. I assume that Baltimore PD would move more quickly to a shots fired call in the home of a rich white guy, but Hannibal takes his time, enjoys his work for what, ten minutes, and saunters off.

The show he is in next fall, blackish, is only in a smaller recurring role. Considering Gillian Anderson was doing Hannibal while starring in Crisis and the fall, laurence fishburne should be able to do this.
I don’t see how they could do stories from red dragon & Hannibal(novel) without jack crawford.

OK, that must be what he meant in this interview when he mentioned combining Hannibal Rising and Hannibal and incorporating them into season 3. I was confused because the original plan was for Hannibal to be season 6. Makes sense now, thanks!

It was a great season finale, true to the story and very beautifully filmed.

They did state that they can follow the same events but would just have to change the names. I’m fine with this.

I feel like you and I are watching two totally different shows…

They don’t have the rights to Silence of The Lambs or any character specific to the novel. So Clarice or Bill wont be showing up unfortunately.

He said that he will hopefully be able to work out a deal with MGM to get the rights to Silence by the time that season happens. If not, he said he will do something very similar like have the same things happen just use different names to avoid copyright infringements

And even if we do get Clarice Starling I won’t accept anything less than a Clarice/Will team-up (which has been a fantasy of mine forever). I am 99% sure Hannibal will be caught in this series, and will escape, and I am almost positive Will Graham will survive and be in every episode in the series or damn close to it. Clarice will become a main character in the final 2, maybe 3 seasons, I doubt it, but probably 2. She will side with Will to bring down Lecter, eventually she will have something Will doesn’t have anymore: Hannibal’s interest and suspension of wanting to kill him.

Why I always liked the Red Dragon relationship between Will and Hannibal is it’s “post break-up” neither has an issue with killing the other. Will changed Hannibal, Hannibal changed Will. Luckily Will shouldn’t lose much in terms of physical ability. I imagine Will Graham=Better at profiling and, of course, knows Hannibal better than anyone,quite literally. Clarice will have Hannibal’s attention and if they use some of the book he may go for making her fall in love with him, so Mirriam Lass, Alana Bloom and to a degree, Jack Crawford, all will have elements of themselves contained in Clarice Starling or “Sterling” if they have to go that way.

Will MUST remain Hannibal’s yin (or yang?) to Hannibal’s yang (or yin?). Clarice can serve as a mutual love-interest and I, personally, want to see her run away with Hannibal after a really fucked up love seen that happens after she, say, cuts off half of his hand and he stabs her in a non-vital area, and the extra-bloody (like fucking on an uber-period!) coitus begins. Will could be strapped to a chair, horrified, working his way free. Eventually he shoots Hannibal 4-5 times and Clarice shoots Will once.

Will wakes up in the hospital again. Hannibal is missing, presumed dead, killed a few FBI agents in an unclear situation where it seemed like his hostage, FBI agent-in-training Clarice Starling seemed to help Hannibal escape. The final episode focuses on if Hannibal is going to die from his wounds. Will breaking out of the hospital to track him down on a final lead, and the final (not so bloody, this time) goodbyes of Will, Clarice, and Hannibal, and possibly Jack should he survive.

That would be epic. and I realize I totally just geeked out….meh….my nipples are hard now.

No, he doesn’t have the rights to Clarice or SOL. His long-range plan is to get the rights, but he doesn’t have them as of yet, and may not.

Nope. He’s just not introducing them yet. His plan is (or was when the show started, as he said so in many interviews) to base season 4 and 5ish off of Lambs, 6 off of Hannibal and 7 a wrap up of everything.

He was very vocal about his 7 year plan and you can find it online if you look, I’m sure. As to if he actually will… or can… stick to it is up to debate, however.

Yup. I don’t think they will change the “canon” that much. Killing main characters of Red Dragon novel would be too serious change I guess.

They can’t use characters that were introduced in Lambs, such as Clarice and Buffalo Bill. But I’m pretty sure Randall Tier was a sort of Buffalo Bill. Just my opinion, don’t take it as fact.

The current holders of the rights to Silence of The Lambs (Universal, I think) have plans to make a Clarice Starling TV show, so they don’t want to share the character out and have someone else steal their thunder prematurely.

It’s a shame because I think Fuller could do the character justice and help raise awareness for the other show in the process. Even if Fuller doesn’t get the rights to the characters he still has a plan in place involving them, he just won’t be able to use their names.

I think they currently don’t have the rights to those characters. Hopefully by season 5, if the plan still is Red Dragon season 4 then Silence of The Lambs should be in season 5.
