Ghost Uluh Haunts Viewers with This Year’s Huluween Horror Offerings

Published

on

Huluween is back, but this year it might look a little scarier than usual! Hulu’s created a more immersive experience for viewers this Halloween season with the eerie presence of a malevolent entity, Uluh.

Uluh will be watching from inside as brave viewers sign in for their favorite Halloween offerings. It’s not clear what, or who, she wants, but all will be revealed in a short film set to premiere October 25th.

Evading this Huluween poltergeist won’t be the only tricks and treats up Huluween’s sleeves, however. Expect plenty of seasonal genre offerings to thrill and chill — from spooky season faves to new releases.

For starters, Hulu will premiere 18 brand new Bite Size Halloween shorts — ranging from the terrifying to the ridiculous — that feature some familiar faces: Eric Roberts, Troian Bellisario (Pretty Little Liars), and Yalitza Aparicio (Roma) to name a few. The short films explore different areas of the horror genre and provide a platform for exciting up-and-coming filmmakers.

You can also expect the Halloween classics like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as well as bone-chilling TV episodes and movies from the Hulu library. All are curated into hand-picked collections like “Humorous Horror,” Frights for the Whole Family,” “Terrifying TV,” “Foreign Frights,” and many more!

As for new releases and horror gems to getting added this month? Look out for…

Censor will be available on Hulu on October 14th.

“Film censor Enid takes pride in her meticulous work, guarding unsuspecting audiences from the deleterious effects of watching the gore-filled decapitations and eye gougings she pores over. Her sense of duty to protect is amplified by guilt over her inability to recall details of the long-ago disappearance of her sister, recently declared dead in absentia. When Enid is assigned to review a disturbing film from the archive that echoes her hazy childhood memories, she begins to unravel how this eerie work might be tied to her past.”

Niamh Algar, Nicholas Burns, Vincent Franklin, Sophia La Porta, Adrian Schiller, and Michael Smiley star.

Gaia will be available on Hulu on October 22nd.

“An injured forest ranger on a routine mission is saved by two off-the-grid survivalists. What is initially a welcome rescue grows more suspicious as the son and his renegade father reveal a cultish devotion to the forest. Monique Rockman, Carel Nel, Alex van Dyk, and Anthony Oseyemi star.

The Evil Next Door will be available on Hulu on October 21st.

“New to her stepmom role Shirin moves into a duplex with her partner, Fredrik, and his son, Lucas. The new home feels like the right place to start becoming a family. But when Fredrik leaves for work, strange things are heard from the other, uninhabited side. Also, who is Lucas’ new friend?”

Dilan Gwyn, Linus Wahlgren, and Eddie Eriksson Dominguez star.

Voodoo will be available on Hulu on October 29.

On October 29th, in conjunction with Hulu’s Initiative 29, up-and-coming black filmmaker Phillip Youmans’ original short film Voodoo will be released on the platform. Or is it something more? Could it mean stepping into a position of power and fighting for something larger than yourself? Or risking your life for the people you love? Could it be that anyone who bravely stands against an unstoppable force has final girl blood running through their veins?
