Crimes of Passion sees successful fashion designer Joanna Crane (Kathleen Turner, Serial Mom) moonlight as a sex worker named China Blue. Complications arise when she is targeted by two men: one a lonely, married electronics store owner (John Laughlin) who falls in love with her while spying on her, and the other a psychotic, predatory preacher (Anthony Perkins, Psycho) who seeks to “save” her using a bladed vibrator name “Superman.”

Episode 395: Crimes of Passion (1984)

Huff those poppers and wield that bladed stake vibrator thing you stupid douchebag, because we’re talking our very first Ken Russell film in his messy-but-fascinating erotic thriller Crimes of Passion (1984)!

Join us as we do a deep dive into what Joe describes as a John Waters fever dream. It’s a film that boasts fantastic performances from Kathleen Turner and Anthony Perkins (in a role we would deem “brave” for the actor), who electrify the screen when its not focused on the torturous mundane existence that is heterosexual marriage.

Plus, X-rated MPAA woes, that “magic” trick, silhouette sex, debating the mixed messaging of the ending, and genuinely wondering when the hell Joanna sleeps!

Admittedly, the gameplay isn’t all that much. You tap your screen to place the trap and initiate the frosty capture sequence. Along with the Mini-Pufts, you’ll be able to trap Slimer and the Hell’s Kitchen Sewer Dragon.

If you persist in your efforts and grab all of the ghosts, you do get an Easter Egg featuring Kumail Nanjiani, who stars in the film as Nadeem Razmaadi.

In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level.

But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

Along with Nanjiani, the cast includes Patton Oswalt, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind, alongside Bill Murray, Finn Wolfhard, Ernie Hudson, Mckenna Grace, Paul Rudd, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, Annie Potts, Dan Aykroyd and Carrie Coon.

Jason Reitman, who directed Ghostbusters: Afterlife, is back to produce Frozen Empire.

The first two episodes will be available for free beginning from the game’s launch, with additional episodes available for purchase in the following months. All of the episodes will incorporate state-of-the-art technology to immerse users into a paranormal thriller set in the original Ghostbusters universe.

The player’s phone’s camera, vibration effects, touch screen, LED light, ASMR audio, and other phone features “offer users the highest level of interactive experience.” As mentioned previously, the goal of the game is to defend yourself from an oncoming apocalypse. You’ll have to duck and dodge incoming slime attacks from ghosts. If unsuccessful, you’ll find yourself wiping the screen of ectoplasmic residue. Players collect and earn nuclear energy cells to power their in-game equipment by solving an ESP test puzzle, or else suffer shocking consequences.

Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim and Dan Aykroyd reprise their roles from Ghostbusters: Afterlife and provide guidance throughout the playing experience. Writer, producer and Master Magician David Kwong was on hand to craft the interactive in-game elements. “I’m always interested in new ways to tell stories and I’m thrilled to see the Ghostbusters mythology expand into the augmented reality front,” said Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-writer and director Jason Reitman.

Written by Gil Kenan and Jason Reitman, and starring Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd, with appearances from Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver, Ghostbusters: Afterlife will debut exclusively in movie theaters on November 19.

Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts are all coming back for this sequel to the original classic, reprising their iconic and beloved roles.

Appearances from the legacy characters have only been lightly teased up to this point, but a new TV spot this week features an appearance from Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz!

The international spot plays up the “legacy” aspect of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, with Potts briefly appearing as the beloved character she played in the first two Ghostbusters movies.

In this year’s Ghostbusters film, written by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan:

When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.

Afterlife‘s cast includes Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd.

The AR experience puts you in the Jason Reitman-directed film, and you’ve got to defend yourself from an oncoming apocalypse. Interact with characters to acquire hidden clues to some trusty unlicensed nuclear equipment to battle the ghosts. Banding together with newfound friends, you wage a high tech battle against evil to overcome a town’s hidden past and save the day.

And seeing as it’s an AR game, you’ll have to duck and dodge incoming attacks, unless you’re a fan of wiping your screen. You’ll also be solving puzzles to collect and earn nuclear energy cells to power your equipment, though be prepared for a shocking surprise if you make a mistake.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife arrives in theatres on November 19th, and stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd, with appearances from Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver.

While we don’t have any mobile game movie tie-ins at the moment, over at the official website, you can play the ECTO-1 Speed Trap browser game. Though admittedly, it does feel like a mobile game that’s just been adapted to work in your browser, but whatever.

The object of the game is to drive the ECTO-1 around the city, avoiding obstacles. Along the way, you’ll of course be capturing ghosts. You’ll have to be quick about it, since you have limited power after trapping the ghost with your proton beam. You can recharge your proton beam by collecting coins scattered on the road, as well as grab health packs to repair ECTO-1.

The best part of this is that you can save your high score screen (resembling the Ghostbusters’ jumpsuit with nametag) as a JPEG to impress your friends. And if you’re looking for other Ghostbuster games, you can always refer to our list of games based on the film (though admittedly they’re not all winners).

Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd, with appearances from Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver. Busting ghosts begins November 11, 2021.

Melnitz, of course, was the Ghostbusters’ secretary, played by Potts in both of the original films. From what we gather, Potts is also playing the role in Jason Reitman’s new sequel.

The Ghostbusters-inspired commercials are part of the “Happy Business” campaign from QuickBooks, and they reunite Melnitz with the beloved green ghost known as Slimer.

Who else may be coming back? Well, in a new chat with KTLA 5, Annie Potts (Toy Story 4) may have just confirmed that she’ll be back as Janine Melnitz!

“I have heard some things. If it’s true, what I’ve heard — yeah, I think it’s gonna happen,” Potts told the show’s hosts, when she was asked if she’d be in the 2020 film.

She added, “I think I will [be in the movie].”

Annie Potts played Janine Melnitz in both Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, the secretary of the titular Ghostbusters who became a buster herself in the animated series.

Ghostbusters will return to theaters on July 10, 2020.

The new Ecto-1 is the perfect vehicle for delivering your loved ones to the grave, and returning them to it when they come back to haunt you.

Sony released a brand new featurette that’s solely focused on the dream car of those who grew up in the 80’s.

“Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living,” EW explained of the plot. “Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.”

Director Paul Feig has filmed cameos (in new roles) for many of the original Ghostbusters cast, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and even Sigourney Weaver.

Andy Garcia, Michael Kenneth Williams, Matt Walsh and Pat Kiernan also star in Ghostbusters.

“SNL” vet Neil Casey is the main Ghostbusters villain, Rowan, described as a convicted murderer who turns into a ghost after his execution is hit by a supercharged electrical storm. This gives him the power to raise an army of other ghosts, which could be made up of famous villains throughout history.

Inverse has confirmed that “Games of Thrones” baddie Charles Dance has a prominent role in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, most likely as an additional villain.

“SNL” vet Neil Casey is the main Ghostbusters villain. He is rumored to play the ghost of a murderer (sort of like Wes Craven’s Shocker, actually) who resurrects a ghost army based on historical characters.
