Top Hat Studios was busy yesterday during their Fall Showcase 2026, updating fans on several titles, including that they will publish Liminal Road’s retro-inspired horror anthology Spooky Tales. The announcements were accompanied by new trailers. Here’s a rundown on the genre titles during the event:

Coming soon to Steam, Spooky Tales takes insprationg from anthology horror such as Tales from The Crypt, Goosebumps, Are You Afraid of The Dark? and more. The game blends narrative exploration with interactive minigames, the collection spans 1920s pulp dread, Japanese body horror, found footage, and classic slashers. It’s all topped off with a charismatic undead host who guides players through stories of sinister coastal waters, a new student with dark secrets, a desperate TV crew, and a pizza party turned bloody.

Following its appearance at the showcase, developer 13th Street Studio’s BECROWNED invites players into its nightmare with a new demo. Inspired by the surrealist dark satire of VHS-era horror and the lurid atmosphere of classic grindhouse cinema, the game follows Richard Torrance through a complex web of relationships and realities. BECROWNED will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in Q1 2027.

Coming soon to PC via Steam, a forsaken nun’s long road to absolution unfolds in the new trailer for luxan’s psychological horror game, METAMORPHOSIS. A haunting adventure set in a dead world, the game centers around a nun named Aria. Branded a sinner, Aria must traverse towering megastructures, fight demons, and journey toward the last paradise. Players guide her through sprawling, interconnected ruins, solve challenging puzzles, and manage dwindling resources while wielding firearms and powerful miracles in deliberate, high-risk combat.

After launching on Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and the Xbox Series back in October 2025, solo developer Andrei Chernyshov will be bringing his story-driven shooter Silly Polly Beast to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this month. A story-driven shooter filled with aggressive gunfights and terrifying monsters, the game follows a girl who, by the will of fate, must face the beast and understand its nature in order to become free. Players explore eerie realms, confront haunting figures from Polly’s past, and master forbidden spells in a fight for freedom.

Those itching to get their hands on Top Hat Studios and developer 13th Street Studio’s lo-fi nightmare in BECROWNED won’t have to wait much longer. During the Horror Game Awards Halloween Showcase, the devteam has announced a Q1 2027 release window, As well as revealing that in addition to Steam, the game will launch for the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

Accompanying the announcements is a new trailer that showcases the darker, stranger direction BECROWNED has taken since it was originally announced several years ago. The game has evolved dramatically since early impressions drew comparisons to classic staples of the psychological horror genre. BECROWNED now encompasses the atmosphere of 1970s and 1980s grindhouse cinema, as well as the surrealist dark satirical humor of 70s French horror.

In BECROWNED, players step into the role of Richard Torrance, a self-willed yet deeply dissatisfied man who believes happiness is something to be seized through sheer force of will. However, underneath his domineering mantle lies a gnawing emptiness that no achievement can satisfy. The player will navigate a complex web of Richard’s relationships – both inside and outside of the strange dimension he finds himself in – to determine his ultimate fate.

The more he pursues the simple yet elusive concept of happiness, the further Richard is drawn into bizarre, disturbing, and surreal places that should not exist…but remain very real. As he descends into a nightmarish world where reality and madness begin to blur, his desperate need for control becomes an obsession, forcing him to question whether the greatest threat to his own salvation is himself or those around him.

If you’re keen to check out the game, you can play the recently-updated demo on the game’s Steam page.

There was plenty of horror fare during the MIX Summer Showcase yesterday, but there’s always those wanting more. Well, The Horror Game Awards also had their Midsummer Night’s Scream showcase, which had a full two hours’ worth of updates and over 50 world premiere trailers for games launching later this year and beyond. Best of all, you can wishlist many of these games right now on Steam. Admittedly, two hours of trailers is a lot, so here’s a sampling of some of the games on display. You can also watch the full stream below.

However, despite his efforts, he has never achieved what he truly desires – happiness. You must uncover the mysteries of his past to find out what led him to this world of tragedy.

Originally released back in March (read Harrison’s review), FYRE Games’ psychological horror title Project Songbird will be receiving a physical release for the PlayStation 5, which you can pre-order today ahead of its October 23 release. Set deep beneath the isolating canopy of the Appalachian forest, Project Songbird explores the dark side of the creative process. Players will take on the role of Dakota, a struggling career musician who, while suffering from writer’s block, heads to a remote log cabin to record their new album. As they search amongst the pines for a spark of creativity, they soon discover something more lurks in the darkness – and that not all inspirations are positive.

In the mood for a little Orwellian psychological horror? Developer Pyotr Vozniak has you covered with their upcoming title, BLOK. You can also check out the demo now. Set in post-communist Poland,  you play as a political exile who fled during the communist regime. Years later, after the system’s collapse, you return to your old apartment block, brought back by a strange letter from your mother. The neighborhood seems to be the same. But something is not right. It is almost too perfect. And the more you search the more cracks you find.

Ahead of Follow Us launching into Early Access on Steam later this week (June 5th, to be exact), developer Game Atelier showed off the latest trailer for the upcoming asymmetrical horror title. Described as a hilarious and horrifying relationship stress test, Follow Us has one player exploring a spooky environment, while another guides them remotely from the van, trying to keep their partner alive. The game creates tension by combining two different things: isolation and connection. One wrong call can get your partner killed, and yes, it will probably be your fault.

Signal Decay Games has revealed a brand new weapons trailer for FEAR OF SLEEP, offering the first real taste of the game’s combat philosophy. Coming later this year, FEAR OF SLEEP is the debut survival horror game from Konrad Honey, a AAA artist whose credits include Call of Duty, Aliens, and several other major franchises. There are no safety nets, and no hand-holding here. Descend into the MetroBunker, a sprawling subterranean shelter built in the shadow of war. As Roy, an R0-1 maintenance android, traverse industrial corridors, collapsing infrastructure, and cryptic interludes while grotesque creatures stalk the dark. Your directive is simple: return to your maker before it’s too late.

Fresh from the success of the demo for The Skin Stapler back in February, Assemble Entertainment and Tainted Pact Games have dropped a new gameplay trailer, as well as confirming that the grindhouse horror adventure will be releasing later this summer. Welcome to Carrion City, an 80s fever dream where neon lights bounce off wet asphalt, and everyone looks guilty even when they are not. You are Detective Dick Slater, a burned-out veteran trying to keep his sanity while chasing a killer, the eponymous Skin Stapler. The Skin Stapler primarily targets young women in their homes and workplaces, skins them, and staples their flesh to nearby walls, leaving behind grotesque displays and distorted audio tapes that taunt the police and hint at something deeper going on beneath the city.

Not waiting for Summer Game Fest on Friday, Labyrinth of the Demon King‘s publisher Top Hat Studios has announced another Survival Horror title in BECROWNED on Day 1 of IGN’s Summer of Gaming event. The announcement was accompanied by the debut of a brand new trailer, introducing the world and premise of the game.

Inspired by both Silent Hill as well as classic horror films, BECROWNED is a surreal survival horror adventure that mixes traditional survival horror gameplay with a unique narrative direction and in-game cinematography. You take on the role of Richard Torrance, a man of rational and unbreakable character who’s rational and cold-blooded. Richard strives to shape the world to his liking. However, despite his efforts, he has never achieved what he truly desires – happiness. You must uncover the mysteries of his past to find out what led him to this world of tragedy.

Mixing unorthodox dark fantasy with modern industrial horror in a surreal, David Lynch-esque manner, BECROWNED draws on philosophical themes of love, family, and more. Explore a vast castle and its surroundings while discovering hidden passages and optional puzzles. Battle a variety of enemies, each requiring a unique fighting strategy, and defeat challenging bosses.

You will also face countless choices, each impacting the fates of others imprisoned in this world. Will you spare a repentant killer? Will you risk your resources to save a random martyr from a gruesome death? You will suffer the consequences. How you proceed will lead to one of the game’s multiple endings.

If you’re itching to dive in, there’s a demo available on Steam.
