Stream 2 is officially titled Stream 2: Sudden Death, Dread Central reports.

“We are thrilled to unveil the official title of the sequel to Stream, which is Stream 2: Sudden Death,” says director Michael Leavy. “The name not only embraces the film’s gaming DNA, but also captures the horror roots that are so essential to its unique blended vibe.”

It promises to be not only an incredibly fun experience, but also a fast-paced, high-octane thrill ride!”

Brain “Q” Quinn is teaming with “Impractical Jokers” producer/writer Joe Imburgio to write Stream 2, the sequel to Michael Leavy‘s star-studded slasher Stream.

We recently learned that David Howard Thornton (Terrifier 2, Terrifier 3) will reprise his role from the first Stream movie in the upcoming sequel. Jason Leavy will also be returning as a producer with Steven Della Salla as the producer and director of photography.

Stream centers around a game that pits masked murderers against each other as they compete to rack up the most creative kills possible, all while it is live streamed to fans at home.

“A Stream sequel isn’t just warranted, it was inevitable. Fuzz on the Lens is doubling down on what made the first film stand out and the sequel is set to raise the stakes with more inventive gore, exciting mythos and a cast of horror icons,” Damien Leone, Terrifier Creator & Stream Co-Producer / Special Makeup Effects artist, said in a recent statement.

Dread Central reports that Sleepaway Camp icon Felissa Rose, who appeared in Terrifier 2, gets “drenched in blood” in a scene that spoofs Art the Clown blowing up a group of children at the mall in Terrifier 3.

Michael Leavy, who played Will the exterminator in Terrifier and produced its sequels, also makes a cameo in the sequence.

“It was extremely surreal on so many levels,” Leavy commented. “Not only was it wild to see a character from a franchise we helped pioneer become important enough to be parodied in a major Hollywood production, but it was especially meaningful because it happened within the go-to spoof franchise I grew up loving. What an honor!”

Scary Movie 6 will be released in theaters on June 12, 2026 from Paramount.

Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Jon Abrahams, Lochlyn Munro, Dave Sheridan, Chris Elliott, and Cheri Oteri are all returning for the reboot.

The ensemble cast also includes Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif, Cameron Scott Roberts, Sydney Park, Gregg Wayans, Ruby Snowber, Benny Zielke, Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, and Heidi Gardner.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Heretic, Longlegs, Get Out, Nope, and Sinners are among the other films being parodied in the new installment.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans brothers’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.

Now he’s teaming with “Impractical Jokers” producer/writer Joe Imburgio to pen ST2EAM, the sequel to Michael Leavy‘s star-studded slasher Stream.

“Me and Joe Imburgio, who is one of the writers on ‘[Impractical] Jokers’ and a very close friend of mine, we wrote the script for Scream 2,” Quinn revealed to Chris Jericho on the Talk Is Jericho podcast. “I’m so excited.”

Quinn explains that he and Imburgio were kicking around ideas with Leavy over drinks after the Stream premiere, which prompted the filmmaker to offer them the opportunity to take a crack at the script.

“We just handed it in last week,” Quinn adds, noting that the script includes a part written for Jericho.

Leavy commented on the news on Facebook: “Q and Joe joining the Stream team is a perfect match for where we want to take this franchise, they get it. From day one, they completely understood the tone. They’re massive horror fans and cut from the same cloth as us.”

He continues, “Their success in comedy translates perfectly to horror, it’s truly a secret weapon. Scares, like jokes, are all about beats, they live and die by timing — and they know how to land both. They know what works. We truly feel this film will thrill our fans, both old and new. So buckle up, ST2EAM is going to be a fun ride!”

Leavy will return to the director’s chair for the sequel, along with Terrifier star David Howard Thornton as the deadly Player 2, producer Jason Leavy, and producer/director of photography Steven Della Salla.

In Stream, a family must fight for their lives as their weekend getaway truly turns into a vacation to die for when they encounter four deranged murderers competing in a twisted game.

ST2EAM will further tug on the thread that was revealed in first film, unraveling the dark web surrounding a twisted game of life and death.

Sea Shelves’ Dominick Muschello, who worked on and appeared as an extra in Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3, rocks the Johnny Depp crop top as Freddy’s catfishing victim.

“I have been a huge fan of Robert’s forever,” says Leavy. “He’s a huge reason I got into filmmaking and horror in the first place, so to be able to bring one of the best slashers back to life in my own way while paying homage, and to do it with the hilariously talented Sea Shelves Productions, was a dream come true.”

Incidentally, Leavy played a younger version of Robert Englund in 2014’s Fear Clinic. He also served as a producer on Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story.

For optimal VHS viewing, the film has been cropped from its original aspect ratio to 4:3 full frame. It’s officially licensed from Fuzz on the Lens Productions and approved by Leavy.
