A24’s Friday the 13th prequel series “Crystal Lake” is coming to Peacock here in the United States this October, but in an interesting twist, it’s coming to HBO Max outside the U.S.

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know that Warner Bros. Discovery has picked up “Crystal Lake” for HBO Max in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, excluding the U.K. and Ireland.

“The series is set to debut on HBO Max across the region later this year,” THR notes.

Here in the United States, “Crystal Lake” slashes into Peacock on October 15. We know that ALL EIGHT EPISODES of “Crystal Lake” will release at the same time on that date.

Each episode has a runtime of 60 minutes.

The series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?

Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, a mother who gave up a singing career to raise her special needs child, only to take a dark turn when she loses her son — Jason.

Callum Vinson (“Chucky”) is playing young Jason in “Crystal Lake,” which will tell the origin story of the masked slasher who has stalked the grounds of Crystal Lake for decades.

Brad Caleb Kane (“IT: Welcome to Derry”) is the showrunner for the series.

The eight-episode series “Crystal Lake” is directed by Michael Lennox (“Derry Girls”), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (“The Pitt”).

Genre fans rejoiced this week as Peacock finally released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Crystal Lake TV series starring Linda Cardellini as horror’s favorite killer mommy. This sneak peek is actually the first footage of an official Friday the 13th project since the Platinum Dunes remake came out over 17 years ago, so it makes sense that we’re all incredibly hyped for this long-awaited prequel.

While we’ve since received more information about the show -including how all eight episodes will be released at the same time on October 15– fans wasted no time in speculating about the direction they think showrunner Brad Caleb Kane intends to take the franchise next. After all, Kane’s team is free to adapt elements from the entire Friday the 13th franchise, so it seems that anything goes at this point. That being said, I doubt we’ll be seeing young Jason depicted as a fun-sized killer with an affinity for hockey masks, as I’m of the opinion that the show is likely reaching back to the original actress behind Pamela Voorhees herself in order to fill out the prequel’s story.

You see, after sifting through behind-the-scenes interviews and plenty of special features from my own Friday the 13th collection on physical media, I learned that the late, great Betsy Palmer had come up with an elaborate backstory for Ms. Voorhees that was never properly explored in the films. She may have only accepted the iconic role because she needed money for a new car, with Palmer notoriously referring to Victor Miller’s original script as a “piece of shit”, but that didn’t stop her from taking her work seriously – and eventually even warming up to the now-iconic film.

Trained in the Stanislavski Method, an infamous system where actors use the “art of experiencing” to more realistically portray their characters, Palmer decided to build off of Miller’s script and make her own notes in order to characterize Pamela as a more complex and arguably sympathetic figure, even if only a fraction of her contributions would actually make it onscreen.

The only real information she found in the script concerned her character’s prominent class ring, and from there Palmer extrapolated an entire backstory where Pamela had a high school boyfriend during the 1940s that got her pregnant and then skipped town. This led to Pamela being forced to raise her child all on her own during a deeply conservative period in American history – another reason why the character is so bothered by the camp counselors’ promiscuity.

It was Tom Savini who first revealed to Palmer that Jason was going to be depicted as being disabled (an idea that wasn’t in the original screenplay), with this crucial addition making the actress realize that Ms. Voorhees was already overburdened even before the death of her son. The tragedy only pushed her over the edge as she became a puritanical vigilante attempting to shut down Camp Crystal Lake at any cost.

For Palmer, this means that “Camp Blood” never had any curse, as the multiple fires and poisoned water incidents that kept the camp from reopening before the summer of 1979 were merely part of Ms. Voorhees’ years-long vendetta against the property’s owners. Palmer also insisted that the killer in the sequels isn’t the original Jason, as he definitively drowned at the bottom of Crystal Lake. According to her, having Pamela’s child return even as a killer revenant would undo her entire character arc, meaning that the masked murderer who takes over her legacy must be someone or something else entirely!

These ideas match up with most of what we’ve heard about Peacock and A24’s plans for the upcoming series, which is set to follow Linda Cardellini as Pamela after she gives up a career as a singer in order to take care of her disabled son, played by Callum Vinson. That’s why I wouldn’t be surprised if the writing team decided to borrow from the woman behind the machete in order to make the series more authentic to the source material.

Of course, there are rumors floating around that the show could also feature a teenage Jason in some capacity, so we’re still not sure about how exactly Kane and company plan to adapt their project to the franchise’s ever-changing mythology. That’s why I’d like to invite fellow readers to comment below with your own theories about where you think the prequel show is headed!

For now, I think it’s safe to say that Friday the 13th fans are more than ready to binge-watch Pamela’s bloody origin story when it finally drops this October. And who knows? Maybe the show’s success could finally lead to a new mainline film…

Curry Barker’s Obsession is still playing in theaters and it’s now available on Digital at home, with the physical release set for next week. Also next week? The film’s streaming debut!

Peacock has made the surprising announcement that box office sensation Obsession will already be available for streaming on Peacock beginning next Friday, July 17, 2026.

Obsession was released into theaters just about two months ago and the film has scared up an incredible $406.8 million at the worldwide box office. It’s the highest grossing horror movie of the year so far, and it’s still raking in millions with each passing week.

The production budget for the independently-made Obsession was a reported $750,000, with distributor Focus Features later acquiring the film for a reported $15 million. Needless to say, the film has proven to be massively profitable for Focus, who will no doubt be hungry to turn the horror hit into a horror franchise. Curry Barker has some thoughts on that, however.

Curry Barker is incredibly busy in the wake of Obsession‘s box office success, with his horror-comedy Anything But Ghosts coming soon. He’s also attached to direct the next Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as well as another original horror movie for Universal & Blumhouse.

Stream Obsession on Peacock at home beginning July 17!

In Curry Barker’s theatrical debut Obsession, after breaking the mysterious One Wish Willow to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.

Inde Navarrette (“Superman & Lois”) and Michael Johnston (“Teen Wolf”) star.

Here’s what’s coming.

What’s the Fourth of July without Jaws? Peacock has you covered for a Jaws marathon this holiday weekend. The holiday also brings two 2026 theatrical releases to streaming: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy on HBO Max and Disney+/Hulu adds Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. Sharks close out the month, too, with the arrival of The Devil’s Mouth on Prime Video.

If you missed splatstick comedy Over Your Dead Body in theaters, look for it on Sundance Now on July 31. Also look for 2026 horror releases Exit 8 and Faces of Death to arrive on Shudder.

Your enjoyment of Strung will depend on your tolerance of clichés, contrivances, and overused plot devices. There are plenty to go around in Malcolm D. Lee’s new thriller—and each one lands with a conspicuous thud. Yet this is also a movie where the formulaicness leads to amusement.

Strung is already off to a tropey start when the protagonist, a bereft violinist named Laila (Chloe Bailey), is vividly hallucinating during one of her recitals. Who does she see in that ghastly vision on stage? The sister whose death she blames herself for, of course. That’s when Laila wakes up from what’s actually a hallucination within a dream.

After a one-night stand with a handsome rando, another too-good-to-be-true opportunity soon falls into Laila’s lap. Because she’s broke, couch-surfing and forced to practice the violin inside her best friend’s closet, she jumps on it without much forethought. That opportunity is indeed suspicious, though; a wealthy grandmother (Lynn Whitfield) hires the main character to be her granddaughter’s live-in music teacher. The pay and accommodations are definitely good, but what about the client? Or clients, as it turns out.

strung
Strung: Anna Diop as Imani, Lucien Laviscount as Marcus. (Photo by: Ilze Kitshoff/Blumhouse)

First, there’s pianist-in-training Zuri (Romy Woods), the walking definition of “precocious child in a horror movie”. She hides behind the bizarre mask once belonging to her late father, and her preferred form of communication is sharing obscure facts. Eventually, though, Zuri is the least of Laila’s problems; it’s her neglectful, demanding, and temperamental mother (Anna Diop) who proves to be the greatest obstacle at each turn. Diop just about snatches every scene with her zealous performance as the expectant Imani. Yet as amusing as that moody matriarch can be, her behavior brings up a good question: Is this cartoonishly devious character the legit villain here, or is she simply a red herring?

The kid’s creepy mask, along with Blumhouse’s involvement, might suggest a different kind of horror movie is at work here. Strung, however, is more like a smutty modernization of classic domestic thrillers that feature big houses, imperiled women, and heaps of paranoia. Keep in mind, this is not a bait-and-switch situation; Alan B. McElroy’s screenplay never leads the viewer down a different path, only to then send them another way.

Strung feels stitched together from other (and better) movies, and your sussing out the suspects is never a hard task. But on the plus side, this movie is often bright and even a little colorful; it’s not too riddled with scenes of flat darkness or washed-out palettes. The music is also another area of interest; certain choices corroborate that comparison to old Hollywood thrillers.

Chloe Bailey as Laila. (Photo by: Ilze Kitshoff/Blumhouse)

So while Strung does string out a number of overplayed twists—with some being less foreseeable than others—it’s a bit comforting to see how some ideas never cease to be used, no matter how familiar they’ve become. The cast’s eagerness also compensates for the general been-there-done-that quality. So often, their commitment to the story is integral to the movie’s best hand-over-mouth moments (and there are quite a few).

Joe Bob Briggs once said the best source of exploitation movies today is the Lifetime network. If you agree, as well as love Tubi’s own efforts in similar filmmaking, then Strung is made for you. This movie taps that same vein of suspense schlock, all while adding a few flourishes of its own.

Strung streams on Peacock starting on June 26.

Peacock has renewed “Twisted Metal” for an upcoming third season, and Deadline reports this week that acting legend Mark Hamill has boarded the series for the brand new season.

The outlet reports, “Deadline can reveal exclusively that Mark Hamill will play Pope Charlie Kane, the leader of the Eastern Sovereignty and estranged father of Sweet Tooth.”

The news was first reported by Jeff Sneider in his newsletter The InSneider.

“For Mark Hamill to come into this world with us is amazing. He’s someone I’ve admired for a long time — a true legend who’s influenced generations of actors. Being able to now call him a castmate is an incredible honor, and we’re excited to see what he brings to the world of Twisted Metal,” executive producer and star Anthony Mackie said in a statement.

David Reed (“The Boys,” “The Magicians”) will serve as showrunner and executive producer for Season 3. He replaces co-creator Michael Jonathan Smith, who’s exiting the show.

Based on the classic PlayStation video game series, the high-octane action-comedy series was developed by Michael Jonathan Smith, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick.

In Season 1, which premiered in 2023, motor-mouthed outsider John is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of badass axe-wielding car thief Quiet, John faces savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road.

In Season 2, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.

Season 2’s finale saw John and Quiet prepare to take on Calypso after he framed them for murdering the spectators at the tournament, starting a war between Insiders and Outsiders.

Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Anthony Carrigan also star.

Summer isn’t even in full swing yet but the horror onslaught continues. If you thought May was a massive month for brand new horror movies, June 2026 also comes loaded with a dense slate of new horror releases.

Save for one reboot, this month brings a ton of original new genre offerings like Leviticus, I Am Frankelda, and Kraken. Also look for brand new films from Steven Spielberg and more.

Here are ten new horror movies releasing in June 2026.

Scary Movie – In Theaters Today

Out in theaters today, June 5, is the sixth installment of the popular horror parody film series, marking the Wayans’ return to the franchise they started. Expect spoofs of anything and everything, from Scream (2022) to The Substance (our review).

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory WayansCraig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite alongside returning favorites and fresh faces to slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, and anything with the word legacy in it.

The core four are joined by franchise favorites Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble cast also includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose.

Watch the official trailer for Scary Movie below.

Disclosure Day – In Theaters June 12

DISCLOSURE DAY, directed by Steven Spielberg.

Legendary director Steven Spielberg is a believer, and he wants to make you one too when his latest invades theaters and IMAX next week. Spielberg revisits the idea of extraterrestrials once more; he previously delivered a trio of sci-fi greats with Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 1977, E.T. in 1982, and War of the Worlds in 2005.

The vague synopsis for Disclosure Day reads: “If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to Disclosure Day.”

Based on a story by Spielberg, the screenplay is by David Koepp.

Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer, A Quiet Place), Josh O’Connor (Wake Up Dead Man, The Crown), Oscar® winner Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, Kingsman franchise), Eve Hewson (Bad Sisters, The Perfect Couple), and two-time Oscar® nominee Colman Domingo (Sing Sing, Rustin).

Watch the official trailer for Disclosure Day below.

Find Your Friends – On Shudder June 12

An all girls trip into the desert descends into violence in intense thriller Find Your Friends, set to make its Shudder debut on a very crowded June 12.

In the film, “Amber and her four best friends flee Los Angeles for a girls’ trip in Joshua Tree, only to find themselves unwelcome in a desert town simmering with quiet hostility. As isolation sets in and encounters with aggressive locals grow more threatening, festering resentments within the group begin to surface. What begins as fun and reckless escape spirals into a violent struggle for control and survival, as past wounds and present dangers collide in a night that turns their trip into a revenge-fueled nightmare.”

Bella Thorne (The Babysitter), Chloe Cherry (“Euphoria”), Helena Howard (I Saw the TV Glow), Sophia Ali (Uncharted), Zion Moreno (“Gossip Girl”), and Chris Bauer (“True Blood”) star in the feature debut by writer/director Izabel Pakzad.

Watch the official trailer for Find Your Friends below.

I Am Frankelda – On Netflix June 12

I Am Frankelda. Cr. Netflix © 2026.

Mexico’s first stop-motion animated feature film delivers meticulous, handmade artistry from Arturo Ambriz and Roy Ambriz, protégés of Academy Award-winner Guillermo del Toro, and celebrates a unique world of monsters. It also arrives exclusively on Netflix on June 12 (our review).

Here’s the synopsis: “In 19th-century Mexico, Frankelda is a gifted writer whose dark tales are ignored and dismissed. Forced to suppress her voice, she refuses to give up, even as many try to silence her. But when she is thrust into her subconscious, the very monsters she created come to life.

“Guided by Herneval, a tormented prince trapped between dreams and nightmares, she must restore balance between fiction and reality before both realms collapse. Meanwhile, the sinister writer Procustes and his conspirators plot to seize control. As Frankelda and Herneval grow closer, their bond becomes both a strength and a curse.

“To rewrite their fate, she must confront a love that defies existence and reclaim her power as a storyteller—before dark forces consume her imagination and reveal horrors beyond her creation.”

Mireya Mendoza, Arturo Mercado Jr., and Luis Leonardo Suarez lead the voice cast.

Watch the official trailer for I Am Frankelda below.

Kraken – In Select Theaters & on Digital June 12

A monstrous myth comes to life in Norwegian creature feature Kraken, out in limited theaters and VOD on the busiest day of the month in terms of new horror releases.

Pål Øie (The Tunnel) directs from a script by Vilde Eide, Kjersti Jelen Rasmussen, and Natasha Arthur.

In the film, unnatural behavior in wild salmon, followed by inexplicable deaths in Norway’s deepest fjord, points to the mythical Kraken. The ancient, multi-armed monster has awakened, ready to crush everything that moves or makes a sound.

Sara Khorami, Mikkel Bratt Silset, Øyvind Brandtzæg, Jenny Evensen, Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes, Jon Erik Myre, Hans Morten Hansen, Steinar Klouman Hallert, and Filip Bargee Ramberg star.

Watch the official trailer for Kraken below.

Leviticus – In Theaters June 19

Leviticus is a strong debut with an incisive voice at the helm,” I wrote in my review of one of this summer’s most anticipated releases that sees a vicious curse wreak havoc on young lovers and their conservative community. The latest from NEON arrives in theaters in the back half of June.

Joe Bird (Talk to Me) and Stacy Clausen play star-crossed teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most — each other.

Mia Wasikowska (Crimson Peak), Jeremy BlewittEwen Leslie (The Nightingale), and Davida McKenzie (Silent Night) round out the cast of horror movie Leviticus.

The film comes from writer-director Adrian Chiarella.

Watch the official trailer for Leviticus below.

Rose of Nevada – In Select Theaters June 19

Rose of Nevada

Enys Men filmmaker Mark Jenkin is back with a new hallucinatory, shot-on-film folk horror nightmare, the time-traveling Rose of Nevada arriving in select theaters.

In the horror film, “Three decades ago, the Rose of Nevada vanished at sea, along with its crew. Now, it has returned. In a remote fishing village, its reappearance is embraced as an auspicious sign, with the local citizens convinced the luck of their economically devastated community may turn, if only the ship sails again. Joining the crew is Nick (George MacKay), desperate to provide for his young family, and Liam (Callum Turner), a mysterious drifter eager to escape his past. After a successful voyage, they return to harbor, only to find that nothing is as they remember it.”

Rose of Nevada was written, directed, edited, and scored by Jenkin, who shot the film on a 16mm Bolex camera.

George MacKay and Callum Turner star.

Watch the official trailer for Rose of Nevada below.

Hold the Fort – On Digital June 23

Hold the Fort Teaser - Hold the Fort review

Those in the mood for a scrappy indie horror comedy that rails against the insanity of HOAs should find much to revel in when Hold the Fort arrives on VOD on June 23. Witches, werewolves, and mayhem ensue.

In the film, “Lucas and Jenny think their life is finally coming together when the couple become homeowners. Little do they know that their new house comes with a big catch. Lucas and Jenny soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when they become trapped in a battle between their Homeowners Association and an onslaught of monsters from hell. The horror-comedy takes the timely concern of home-ownership and wraps this up in an entertaining action-packed thrill ride.

William Bagley writes and directs the film starring Chris Mayers (Adult Swim Yule Log), Haley Leary (The Walking Dead), Levi Burdick, and Julian Smith.

Watch the official trailer for Hold the Fort below.

Hungry – On Digital June 23

The wildly unofficial adaptation of Hungry Hungry Hippos comes home to VOD after an extremely limited theatrical run. Rob Hunter called the animal attack flick “a terrific little survival thriller about an angry, angry hippo instead” in his review.

Hungry follows thrill-seeking tourists on a riverboat tour through the treacherous Louisiana swamplands. Lured off the beaten path by the promise of an exclusive adventure, they soon find themselves fighting for survival against a ravenous hippopotamus lurking beneath the bayou’s murky waters.

Madison Davenport (It’s What’s Inside), Tracey Bonner (Greenland), Michel Curiel (“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”), Jim Meskimen (“Parks and Recreation”), Samantha Coughlan (Arcadian), Olivia Bernstone (Fighting with My Family), River Codack (“Happy Face”), and Joaquim de Almeida (Desperado) star.

James Nunn (Shark Bait, One Shot) wrote and directed.

Watch the official trailer for Hungry below.

Strung – On Peacock June 26

Producers Tyler Perry and Jason Blum have joined forces on this Peacock original, promising all sorts of twisty psychological turns.

In the film, “A talented violinist takes a prestigious job as a music tutor for the gifted daughter of an influential and enigmatic family. As she becomes entangled in their opulent world, unsettling secrets begin to surface, forcing her to question her safety, her dreams, and even her sanity.”

Malcolm D. Lee (Scary Movie 5, Space Jam: A New Legacy) directs from a script written by Alan B. McElroy (Wrong Turn, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers).

Chloe Bailey (“Swarm“), Lynn Whitfield (Jaws: The Revenge), Lucien Laviscount (“Scream Queens”), Anna Diop (Us), Coco Jones (Vampires vs. the Bronx), Langley Kirkwood (“Banshee”), and Romy Woods star.

Watch the official trailer for Strung below.

NBC’s series “The Hunting Party” premiered back in January 2025, and it came armed with a pretty compelling hook. A high tech prison housing all the most terrifying killers in the world is attacked and all the prisoners are freed, with the series playing out with a Killer-of-the-Week approach as a team hunts down and re-captures new psychopaths each week.

“The Hunting Party” ultimately ended up feeling like “Hannibal”-lite, but it wasn’t without its fun. Unfortunately, the NBC series has now been cancelled after just two seasons.

The Hollywood Reporter notes, “sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Universal Television, which produces the series, will look to find a new home.”

The viewership just wasn’t there, with “The Hunting Party” averaging “3.7 million viewers after a week of DVR playback” for Season 2, “down 13 percent from its first season.”

It’s always possible that “The Hunting Party” could find a new home on a different network or a streaming service, but at this time the series is completely dead in the water.

In the series, which also streamed on Peacock, “a small team of investigators are assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers our country has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.”

Melissa Roxburgh, Nick Wechsler, Patrick Sabongui, Josh McKenzie, and Sara Garcia star. JJ Bailey created the series and was the show-runner alongside Jake Coburn.

Peacock’s upcoming Friday the 13th prequel television series “Crystal Lake” will premiere this Halloween season, the streaming service has announced this morning.

“Crystal Lake” premieres Thursday, October 15 only on Peacock!

Brad Caleb Kane (“IT: Welcome to Derry”) is the showrunner for the series.

Callum Vinson (“Chucky”) is playing young Jason in “Crystal Lake,” which will tell the origin story of the masked slasher who has stalked the grounds of Crystal Lake for decades.

Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, a mother who gave up a singing career to raise her special needs child, only to take a dark turn when she loses her son — Jason.

The show’s cast also includes William Catlett (Abigail), Cameron Scoggins (“Nashville”), Devin Kessler (“Godfather of Harlem”), Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Nick Cordileone (“Warrior”), Joy Suprano (“Fleishman Is in Trouble”), Danielle Kotch (Sinister), Christopher Denham (“Shining Girls”), Nancy Nagrant (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), and Phoenix Parnevik.

The eight-episode series is set to be directed by Michael Lennox (“Derry Girls”), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (“The Pitt”).

From A24 and streamer Peacock, “Crystal Lake” will notably be the first official Friday the 13th project since the Platinum Dunes remake of the original classic way back in 2009.

Check out the first official images from “Crystal Lake” below, along with the very first sneak peek at the makeup design for Callum Vinson’s young Jason Voorhees.

Sharpen your katanas, because Quentin Tarantino‘s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair will stream on Peacock beginning May 22.

Presented as Tarantino originally intended, the film unites 2003’s Kill Bill: Volume 1 and 2004’s Kill Bill: Volume 2 into a seamless, 253-minute epic, complete with bonus sequences not featured in the originals.

Uma Thurman stars in the revenge saga as The Bride, left for dead after her former boss and lover Bill (David Carradine) ambushes her wedding rehearsal, shooting her in the head and stealing her unborn child.

To exact her vengeance, The Bride must first hunt down the four remaining members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad before confronting Bill himself.

Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, and Michael Parks also star.

Six additional Tarantino films are also coming to Peacock on May 22: 1992’s Reservoir Dogs, 1997’s Jackie Brown, 2007’s Death Proof, 2009’s Inglorious Bastards, 2012’s Django Unchained, and 2015’s The Hateful Eight.

A fresh take on Joe Dante’s cult classic starring Tom Hanks, Peacock’s “The ‘Burbs” was a hit for Peacock in its first season earlier this year, and Season 2 is now on the way.

Deadline has confirmed that “The ‘Burbs” has been renewed for a second season.

The outlet notes, “The series has generated 1.7 billion+ viewing minutes on the domestic platform. The ’Burbs also made Nielsen’s U.S. Originals Top 10 for four consecutive weeks.”

“We’re so thrilled that audiences loved season one of The ’Burbs, and are going to get to spend more time in Hinkley Hills with Keke and the rest of this incredible cast,” said Peacock’s Lisa Katz. “A huge congratulations to all of the writers, producers and crew who updated the beloved original film and made something funny, warm and highly contemporary.”

Set in present-day suburbia, Keke Palmer (Nope) and Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise) star as a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home.

Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light. New threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.

The debut season of Peacock’s “The ‘Burbs” ends with a cliffhanger tease that suggests a much large conspiracy afoot, with one main character’s fate left hanging in the balance.

The good news? The story will continue. Stay tuned for updates.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is less of a movie and more of a series of fan service moments, Easter eggs, and teases of the overarching game lore, held together by baffling plot choices and characters acting with complete stupidity at every possible turn.”

Peacock will be the exclusive streaming home for the Leprechaun franchise this St. Patrick’s Day.

Leprechaun, Leprechaun 2, Leprechaun 3, Leprechaun 4: In Space, Leprechaun in the Hood, Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood, and Leprechaun: Origins will join the streamer on March 1.

Written and directed by Mark Jones, 1993’s Leprechaun stars Warwick Davis as the titular terror opposite Jennifer Aniston in her first feature role.

The story begins when Dan O’Grady steals 100 gold coins from a leprechaun while on vacation in Ireland. The leprechaun follows him home, but Dan locks the killer creature in a crate, held at bay by a four-leaf clover.

10 years later, J.D. Redding and his daughter, Tory, rent O’Grady’s property for the summer. When their new neighbors accidentally release the leprechaun, he goes on a murderous rampage to reclaim his gold.

The cult classic was followed by Rodman Flender’s Leprechaun 2 in 1994, Brian Trenchard-Smith’s Leprechaun 3 in 1995, Trenchard-Smith’s Leprechaun 4: In Space in 1997, Rob Spera‘s Leprechaun in the Hood in 2000, and Steven Ayromlooi’s Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood in 2003.

Leprechaun: Origins, a reboot in which WWE superstar Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl replaced Davis as the killer Leprechaun, was released in 2014. That one was helmed by future Final Destination Bloodlines co-director Zach Lipovsky.

The franchise’s most recent entry, 2018’s Leprechaun Returns, is not included on Peacock, but it’s currently available on YouTube TV.

The original Leprchaun is also coming to Steelbook 4K UHD and VHS and playing at Cinemark theaters on March 17.

If that’s not lucky enough, Trick or Treat Studios is releasing a Leprechaun 30″ ultimate doll, an 8″ scale action figure, and a deluxe injection mask later this year.

Television and film currently exist during an often-cynical era in which intellectual property and brand recognition often mean more than a good idea. It’s the new normal for everything from Four Weddings and a Funeral to Boomerang to receive television adaptations. There’s more money in prequels to Rosemary’s Baby and The Omen than there is in an original occult horror story that wrestles with the same themes. Any broad IP that the audience vaguely remembers and is in the studio’s library is suddenly fair game for a streaming revival.

So, while nobody necessarily needs a ten-episode version of Joe Dante’s The ‘Burbs, a subversive dark comedy cult classic from the ‘80s, it’s as good an idea as any.

Unfortunately, like many of these IP-driven endeavors, Peacock’s The ‘Burbs is a deeply generic property that doesn’t bring many new ideas to the table. It’s tapping into the same territory as Based on a True Story, Your Friends & Neighbors, The Resort, or any of the other crime-infused suburban dramas. It’s just regrettably the least interesting of the lot in what’s becoming an increasingly crowded subgenre that’s sapping these stories of their impact. The new series feels five years too late, and it fails to rise above its peers or justify its existence. What felt edgy and innovative back in the ‘90s is now just status quo. Comfortable chemistry and quirky characters aren’t enough to warrant an extended stay in The ‘Burbs.

Much like in Dante’s original film, the series creates tension when the desire for a quiet and slowed-down suburban life for Samira (Keke Palmer) and Rob (Jack Whitehall) turns into an eerie exercise in paranoia. A foreboding new neighbor triggers an avalanche of unease where mysteries and mistrust play out on a sliding scale. Rumors over a house’s allegedly haunted nature evolve into more serious questions that eat away at the entire cul-de-sac.

THE ‘BURBS — “The Goddamn Brownies” Episode 101 — Pictured: The Victorian House — (Photo by: Elizabeth Morris/PEACOCK)

Created by Celeste Hughey, who has worked on High Fidelity, Dead to Me, and Palm Royale, The ‘Burbs definitely bears the closest resemblance to Dead to Me. It’s a black comedy that comfortably lives in shades of grey. Hughey’s take on The ‘Burbs feels both appropriate and timely, but struggles to establish much of a distinct identity for itself, especially when what was under examination in the original movie has now become so commonplace in serialized dramas.

The casual chemistry between Palmer and Whitehall does a lot of this heavy lifting in The ‘Burbs. This extends to the supporting cast of eccentric individuals, which includes Justin Kirk, Paula Pell, and Mark Proksch, who are all standouts who get opportunities to match Palmer’s crazy. There’s a Greek chorus component to this mystery-obsessed cul-de-sac, even if it often suffers from forced dialogue and awkward jokes that don’t land. Everyone harbors massive secrets and possesses closets that are so crammed full of skeletons that they’re practically mausoleums.

Another hurdle that’s faced with the modern streaming structure is that episodes’ length and pacing are a mess. Episodes are around 40 minutes each, but they drag their way to the finish line. One can’t help but wonder if a season of 25-minute episodes that was a few entries longer would have been a better approach.

The ‘Burbs benefits from a stylized and ultra-saturated look that’s more reminiscent of Barry Sonnenfeld and Tim Burton than Joe Dante, but it’s a vibe that still succeeds whenever it’s present. It immediately highlights the seedy underbelly quality that’s essential to The ‘Burbs, even for those who have never seen Dante’s original film that the series is broadly pulling inspiration from.

The season is handled by plenty of journeymen directors, like Yana Gorskaya, Rachel Goldberg, and Nzingha Stewart, all of whom are well-versed in TV productions. They contribute to a uniform house style that, unfortunately, doesn’t emerge often enough. The premiere is the season’s most heightened entry, but it acts as if an excess of visual flair can make up for the rest of the season’s mediocrity.

THE ‘BURBS — Pictured: Justin Kirk as Gary — (Photo by: Elizabeth Morris/PEACOCK)

There’s a lot being said in The ‘Burbs, but at its core, it’s a meditation on isolation and assimilation, without ever going full Stepford Wives or Body Snatchers. This gradually morphs into a story about shame, regret, and closure. Some of the subgenre’s tropes get pushed to such a comical fever pitch that it seems like a scene is meant to be a parody, only for it to instead be treated gravely serious. Some minor tonal adjustments and a basic level of trust in the audience without hitting them over the head with cliches would make such a difference here.

Alternatively, the series also engages in some genuinely uncomfortable territory where it’s willing to bare its teeth and reveal a scathing prejudice that hits harder than any of the season’s plot twists. It’s a strange, singular moment, and the only time that The ‘Burbs feels like it has a distinct point of view and attempts anything risky.

The support that surrounds Samira during this raw encounter is heartwarming. It leaves her feeling loved and like she’s actually a part of a community. It’s kind of beautiful that something positive can be born out of such a cruel act of profiling. It’s still a difficult moment that successfully disarms the breezy vibes and broad comedy that lead up to the conflict.

The ‘Burbs is a darkly comic murder mystery where the laughs aren’t strong or consistent enough, and its mystery isn’t creative or compelling enough to make any of this stand out. That’s not to say that The ‘Burbs is bad. It features decent performances and mediocre chuckles. It’s all totally serviceable, albeit completely forgettable, especially in such an increasingly bloated landscape.

Even with its cliffhanger ending and clear hopes for a second season that continues this story, it’s hard to imagine anyone talking about The ‘Burbs in two months, let alone the hypothetical two years that it’d take for more episodes.

The entire first season of The ‘Burbs will available to stream on February 8 on Peacock.

2.5 out of 5 skulls

Christina Ricci is set to star in and executive produce “The Astrology House,” Peacock’s adaptation of Carinn Jade’s suspense novel of the same name, Deadline reports.

“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” co-creator Lindsay Calhoon Bring is writing the series, which follows the cosmically intertwined lives of Margot (Ricci) and Rini.

When Rini invites Margot and her family-and-friend group to vacation at her astrology retreat, long-held resentments, secrets and lies boil over, culminating in death.

Ricci and Michael Peters executive produce for Ricci’s Cat Full of Spiders. Calhoon Bring also executive produces, with Jade serving as a consulting producer. Universal Television produces.

Published in 2024 by by Atria Books, the full synopsis for “The Astrology House” reads:

“Margot needs a minute. She’s been working eighty-hour weeks as a newly minted partner at her law firm. She’s disconnected from her brother, the only family she has left. And she’s still not pregnant after years of trying.

“Stars Harbor Astrological Retreat promises rest, relaxation, and wisdom for Margot and her friends. With Instagram-worthy views and nightly astrology readings in an impeccably restored waterfront Victorian house, this resort should be the ultimate getaway.

“For Margot’s brother, Adam, it’s the perfect opportunity to invigorate his romantic life and inspire his writing. But his wife, Aimee, hides the darkness of her past with a beautiful social media feed. Their friend, Farah, is a successful doctor who cannot admit that she’s losing control.

“Yet no one holds a greater secret than their astrologer host, Rini. She has a plan for her guests, and one of them won’t be leaving Stars Harbor alive.”

Ricci will also return for the fourth and final season of “Yellowjackets,” expected to premiere on Showtime later this year.

After hitting physical media on Tuesday, Bugonia will begin streaming on Peacock next Friday, December 26.

From director Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, The Killing of a Sacred Deer), the genre-bending sci-fi black comedy psychological thriller stars Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons.

It follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap a powerful CEO they believe is an alien out to destroy humanity. What begins as a paranoid act spirals into a clash of delusions and control.

After the pair chain her in a basement and come face-to-face with the enemy, the two sides — the tinfoil-hat basement dwellers and the steely, soulless corporate executive — soon find themselves pitched in a battle as viscerally unpredictable as it is provocative.

Will Tracy (The Menu) penned the script, based on Jang Joon-Hwan’s 2003 South Korean film Save the Green Planet.

Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone round out the cast.

Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) produces alongside Lanthimos, Stone, Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Lars Knudsen, Miky Lee, and Jerry Kyoungboum Ko.

Bugonia is nominated for three Golden Globe Awards and three Critics Choice Awards. It’s also on the Academy Awards shortlist for Cinematography and Original Score.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “The sardonic, genre-bending satire takes aim at modern echo chambers and their erosion of humanity. Lanthimos’ signature ability to skew reality with absurdist humor and style belies a cynical condemnation of our self-destructive nature.”

Filming recently wrapped on the upcoming Friday the 13th prequel television series “Crystal Lake” from A24, which will be the franchise’s first official installment in almost twenty years when it premieres on Peacock sometime next year. And we’re in good hands with this one, as showrunner Brad Caleb Kane is also the co-showrunner of HBO’s “IT: Welcome to Derry.”

What can we expect from “Crystal Lake”? Brad Caleb Kane tells Entertainment Weekly in a brand new interview, “In many ways, it’s a psychological thriller. It’s a paranoid ’70s thriller.”

He continues, “It has all of the DNA of a slasher without quite being a slasher. There are rivers of blood in the show. There are very, I think, ingenious kill sequences and deaths and murders, but it’s all done in service of character and theme and place and time.”

“I tried to think about Crystal Lake and a Friday the 13th prequel as, ‘What era did the first movie come out of?’ It came out of the paranoid ’70s thriller era,” Caleb Kane goes on to explain. “It came out of the mistrust-of-institutions era. It came out of the women’s lib era, the National Organization for Women era, this consciousness-raising awakening era in America. I wanted to go and play with all of those themes.”

Brad Caleb Kane also teases that star Linda Cardellini, who plays Jason’s mother Pamela Voorhees in the series, is going to “shock and surprise a lot of people” with her performance.

He explains in his chat with EW, “I think [Linda Cardellini’s] gonna get a lot of attention for this role. She’s inconceivably brilliant in it. I can’t really say any more.”

Callum Vinson is playing a young Jason Voorhees in the series, with Linda Cardellini starring as Mrs. Voorhees. The series will serve as an expanded prequel to the 1980 slasher.

“Crystal Lake” also stars William Catlett (A Thousand and One, Constellation), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Cameron Scoggins (Shades of Blue, Nashville) and Gwendolyn SundstromNick Cordileone is Crazy Ralph, Danielle Kotch is Claudette, and Phoenix Parnevik is Barry, all characters from the original Friday the 13th movie.

Nancy Nagrant will play Kay Christy, a relative of Steve Christy from Friday the 13th (1980), while Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble, Best Foot Forward) will also star.

The eight-episode series is set to be directed by Michael Lennox (“Derry Girls”), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (“The Pitt”).

Journey into the dark side of the pursuit of excellence when HIM makes its streaming debut December 19 exclusively on Peacock.

From producer Jordan Peele, the psychological horror film stars Marlon Wayans (Scary Movie) and Tyriq Withers (I Know What You Did Last Summer).

Rising-star quarterback Cameron Cade has devoted his life, and identity, to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma.

Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White, a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar, offers to train Cam at Isaiah’s isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife.

But as Cam’s training accelerates, Isaiah’s charisma begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for.

Justin Tipping directs from a script he co-wrote with Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie.

Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Tim Heidecker (Us), Jim Jefferies (“Legit”), and Naomi Grossman (“American Horror Story”) round out the cast.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Despite a stellar cast and a strong concept executed with vibrant style, HIM fumbles in integrating its visceral symbolism with horror and storytelling.”

Clue,” a scripted series based on the murder-mystery board game, has found a home at Peacock, Deadline has learned.

The project hails from showrunner/writer Dana Fox (Wicked, Cruella) and director Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Neighbors), who will bring a modern twist to the colorful cast of characters.

When a group of strangers are invited to an eccentric billionaire’s murder-mystery night to solve the famous questions — who, where and with what — they quickly discover that nothing is what it seems to be, and the stakes are even higher than life or death.

Sony Pictures Television and Hasbro Entertainment took “Clue” out in October, garnering interest from multiple platforms before landing at Peacock for development.

Fox and Stoller will executive produce alongside Hasbro Entertainment’s Head of TV Gabriel Marano, Margy Love of Foxy, Inc., and Conor Welch of Stoller Global Solutions.

Meanwhile, Netflix recently greenlit a “Clue” reality competition series. Both projects stem from the 2024 deal Sony signed with Hasbro for the film and TV rights to the classic game.

Clue has sold more than 150 million copies since its launch in 1949. The first adaptation came in the form of Jonathan Lynn’s 1985 film starring Tim Curry.

Peacock has debuted the teaser trailer for “The ‘Burbs,” a mystery comedy series based on Joe Dante‘s 1989 cult classic of the same name.

Keke Palmer (Nope), Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise), Julia Duffy (“Newhart”), Paula Pell (“Saturday Night Live”), Mark Proksch (“What We Do in the Shadows”), and Kapil Talwalkar (“Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist”) star.

Who is the murderer? Find out when all eight episodes drop on Sunday, February 8, exclusively on Peacock.

Set in present-day suburbia, Palmer and Whithall play a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home.

Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.

Creator/showrunner Celeste Hughey (“Dead to Me”) writes with Rachel Shukert (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), while Nzingha Stewart (Tall Girl, “Daisy Jones & the Six”) directs.

Guest stars include Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), RJ Cyler (Power Rangers), Justin Kirk (“Weeds”), Kyrie McAlpin (“Will Trent”), Danielle Kennedy (“Narcos”), and Randy Oglesby (“Star Trek: Enterprise”).

Palmer, Hughey, Shukert, and Stewart executive produce alongside Seth MacFarlane (“Family Guy”), Erica Huggins, and Aimee Carlson for Fuzzy Door and Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind), Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus for Imagine Entertainment.

Original The ‘Burbs writer Dana Olsen serves as a co-executive producer. Unfortunately, it seems Dante is not involved.

The show was shot on the Universal Studios backlot in Los Angeles, just like the movie — which starred Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Rick Ducommun, and Corey Feldman.

Start your engines for more apocalyptic fun, because Peacock has renewed “Twisted Metal” for a third season.

David Reed (“The Boys,” “The Magicians”) is boarding the series as showrunner and executive producer. He replaces co-creator Michael Jonathan Smith, who’s exiting the show.

Based on the classic PlayStation video game series, the high-octane action-comedy series was developed by Smith, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick.

In Season 2, released this summer, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.

The Season 2 finale saw John and Quiet prepare to take on Calypso after he framed them for murdering the spectators at the tournament, starting a war between the Insiders and the Outsiders.

Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Anthony Carrigan star.

From Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, and Universal Television, the series is executive produced by Reed, Reese, Wernick, Mackie, Arnett, Marc Forman, Jason Spire, Peter Principato, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Hermen Hulst.

“Twisted Metal” Season 2 has registered 993 million minutes viewed to date, making it Peacock’s second highest-reaching returning original scripted season.

Daniel Kurland wrote in his review, “Twisted Metal’s second season laps the first in every department as it shifts into the perfect gear for more hyperbolized and hilarious vehicular violence.”

“If there were no Black cowboys, then America would not exist.” A spiritual sequel to his movie Nope, Jordan Peele produces Peacock docuseries High Horse: The Black Cowboy.

High Horse: The Black Cowboy streams November 20 on Peacock. Watch the trailer below.

Executive produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, this three-part pop culture and historical docuseries confronts and reclaims the Wild West. It reveals the story of the Black cowboy — a history that has been stolen, erased, and left untold.

Featuring original interviews with Jordan Peele, Tina Knowles, Glynn Turman, Pam Grier, The Compton Cowboys, Rick Ross, and Bun B, paired with archival footage, photographs, and an original score by Raphael Saadiq, this series sets the record straight on the American Frontier. It rides into the forgotten corners of history, shattering myths and celebrating the Black cowboys, farmers, jockeys, musicians, and rodeo champions who built the West — and now reclaim their place in the saddle, sitting high atop the horse.

Keith McQuirter (By Whatever Means Necessary: The Godfather of Harlem) is the showrunner, director and executive producer of Peacock’s High Horse: The Black Cowboy.

Nope gave a nod to the deep history of Black cowboys in America, and this docuseries offers a full exploration of their lives and contributions to today’s cultural landscape,” Pearlena Igbokwe, Chairman of Universal Studio Group, said in a recent statement. “Told through the singular lens of Jordan Peele, this series is every bit as entertaining as it is enriching.”

Killer Clown.

Jenn and I have spent the first half of the month tackling all things Ed Gein on the Murder Made Fiction podcast, but we’re also discussing one of the most prolific killers of the 1970s in John Wayne Gacy. In advance of the Michael Chernus-starring Peacock series, Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, we dug into the queer killer’s backstory.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Gacy embodied several conventional serial killer traits:

  • He had a physically and emotionally abusive father
  • He may have been sexually molested by a family friend
  • He was a smooth-talker with political aspirations (shades of Ted Bundy)
  • He was a husband and a father, despite maintaining a double-life

Like many of the cases we’ve covered, there’s also a heart-breaking close call, including a ten year prison sentence in Iowa for underage sodomy charges. That lengthy sentence was ultimately reduced to less than a year because of good behavior and (in classic 1970s fashion) when Gacy moved to another state, his criminal records were sealed and never communicated to the Illinois police.

Alas it was the vulnerable teen boy population of Uptown Chicago who paid the price. 33 young men lost their lives to Gacy, whose penchant for sexually abusing his victims before murdering and hiding their bodies in a crawl space beneath his house is worse than most fictional horror films.

As Jenn and I look ahead to how Peacock’s eight-episode fictional version will play out, listen to our Gacy primer for more details, including the bizarre fact that despite Gacy’s “Killer Clown” nickname (and the evocative imagery that accompanies virtually every media representation), the clown stuff has virtually nothing to do with the murders.

If you want even more Murder Made Fiction, be sure to check out the pod’s Patreon feed, where Jenn and I have 110+ hours of bonus content, including episode by episode coverage of Netflix’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story as well as Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy.

Eight episode series “Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy” explores the life and crimes of the real-life monster on Peacock beginning October 16, and the final trailer has arrived.

From 1972-78, 33 young men were kidnapped, murdered, and buried in a crawl space beneath their killer’s house. And no one was the wiser. Not for all those years. Why? He was charming and funny. Had a good, all-American job. Was a community leader. He even volunteered to entertain sick kids … while dressed as a clown.

“Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy” peels back the twisted layers of Gacy’s life while weaving in heartrending stories of his victims; exploring the grief, guilt, and trauma of their families and friends; and exposing the systemic failures, missed opportunities and societal prejudices that fueled his reign of terror.

Michael Chernus (“Severance”) stars as the serial killer alongside Gabriel Luna (“The Last of Us”), James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3), Michael Angarano (“The Knick”), Chris Sullivan (“This Is Us”), and Marin Ireland (“The Umbrella Academy”).

The limited series was written by showrunner Patrick Macmanus (“Dr. Death”).

Directors include Larysa Kondracki (101, 106), Ashley Michel Hoban (102), Maggie Kiley (103, 104), Bille Woodruff (105, 107), and Patrick Macmanus (108).

Filming has been going strong all summer on A24 and Peacock’s Friday the 13th prequel series “Crystal Lake,” and Deadline reports this week that British company Sky has acquired the series for broadcast in the UK and Ireland. Why is this interesting to anyone who lives inside the United States? Deadline notes that Sky will premiere “Crystal Lake” in 2026, which essentially confirms that “Crystal Lake” will also be airing on Peacock in the U.S. next year!

As for the Sky deal outside the United States, Deadline notes, “The deal covers the United Kingdom and Ireland and will see the series play on Sky and its streaming service, Now.”

Sky’s Katie Keenan said in a statement, “We are so excited to bring Crystal Lake, the back storyline to the iconic Friday the 13th franchise. Snapping up this show demonstrates our commitment to bringing our customers the best US drama series from one of the hottest US studios. We are thrilled to be in partnership with A24 and Peacock on this project.”

Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry) will be the project’s showrunner.

From executive producer Steven Spielberg, Jurassic World Rebirth is directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One) and written by David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible).

A covert extraction team races to the most dangerous place on Earth, an island research facility where dinosaurs too deadly for the original Jurassic Park were left behind. Their mission: collect DNA from three colossal creatures to unlock a drug with huge benefits for humanity. In a terrain populated by perils, they will make a shocking discovery that has been hidden for years.

Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein star.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Jurassic World Rebirth takes a step in the right direction, but the previous trilogy backed this franchise so thoroughly into a corner that it may be time to let this series go extinct.

M3GAN 2.0 will stream exclusively on Peacock beginning September 26.

Both the theatrical and unrated cuts — upgraded with enhanced kills, deleted scenes, and more carnage — will be available alongside the original M3GAN.

Written and directed by M3GAN helmer Gerard Johnstone, the sequel is produced by James Wan‘s Atomic Monster and Jason Blum‘s Blumhouse.

Before streaming, M3GAN 2.0 hits 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on September 23 with the following special features:

  • M3GAN 2.0 Unrated
  • Total Upgrade: Making M3GAN 2.0 – Equipped with some killer upgrades, the team that unleashed M3GAN returns. Cast and crew take you through the artistry and craftsmanship that went into building a bigger, badder, and bloodier sequel.
  • Droid DNA – Unveil M3GAN 2.0 as she prepares to tackle rogue military asset Amelia. Go behind the scenes and see the puppetry, technology, and animatronics that brought these deadly droids to life.
  • The Art of Slaying – The cast and stunt team discuss creating and executing the film’s most explosive and gruesome action sequences. Special effects and prop teams go into the gory details that make up the guts of the film.
  • Scene Breakdown: Embrace AI Convention – From a dance battle to a blood fest, this breakdown will show how each department worked together to create this epic and deadly sequence.

When an autonomous android engineered to be the ultimate weapon threatens M3GAN’s beloved Cady, M3GAN convinces her creator, Gemma, to give her a glow-up that makes the original A.I. diva even deadlier. Armed with wild new upgrades and her same iconic attitude, M3GAN claps back against the wannabe techno-terror in a fierce face-off to crown the baddest bot built for maximum mayhem.

Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Amie Donald, and Jenna Davis return to star, joined by Ivanna Sakhno, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement.

M3GAN 2.0 takes full advantage of its bigger budget, delivering more expansive set pieces and slicker production values,” Meagan Navarro wrote in her review. “It ultimately succeeds where it matters most: M3GAN never loses her edge in her infectious journey from villain to hero.”

Screamboat, one of several indie productions to capitalize on Steamboat Willie‘s public domain status, will stream on Peacock beginning September 12.

Terrifier‘s David Howard Thornton stars as a twisted version of the black-and-white Mickey Mouse that was introduced in Disney’s animated short in 1928.

A New York City ferry ride turns into a hilarious nightmare when a mischievous mouse named Steamboat Willie becomes a monstrous reality. As passengers set sail, their trip turns deadly when the tiny terror unleashes murder and mayhem.

From the producers of Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3, the horror-comedy is written and directed by Steven LaMorte (The Mean One). Quantum Creation FX, Inc. (The Last Voyage of the Demeter) created the creature based on Cordella’s designs.

The cast includes Allison Pittel (Stream), Amy Schumacher (The Mean One), Jesse Posey (“Selena: The Series”), Jesse Kove (“Cobra Kai”), Kailey Hyman (Terrifier 2), Rumi C Jean-Louis (“Hightown”), Jarlath Conroy (Day of the Dead), Charles Edwin Powell (The Exorcist III), Tyler Posey (“Teen Wolf”), Brian Quinn (“Impractical Jokers”), and Joe DeRosa (“Better Call Saul”).

Paul Lê wrote in his review, “It would be a mistake to overthink Screamboat or overlook its appeal as subversive slapstick, however, like so many comedy bits out there, this movie loses its novelty sooner than later.”

Eli Roth’s Hostel franchise is coming back to life with a television series, we recently learned, and Variety updates this morning that the series is in development at streamer Peacock.

Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti is attached to star!

Variety also notes in today’s report that Eli Roth will be writing, directing and producing the Hostel series, which marks his return to the franchise almost 20 years after Hostel: Part II.

The outlet reports, “Chris Briggs and Mike Fleiss, who produced all the Hostel films, are executive producers. Fifth Season is the studio. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps.”

Giamatti is actually a longtime fan of the Hostel films. “Eli was shooting Hostel in Prague and I was shooting The Illusionist and I met him. We talked about me actually killing somebody in that movie but it never panned out,” Giamatti told EW in a 2013 interview.

Released in 2005, Hostel was set in a world where the rich can pay to literally torture and murder captured victims, and Eli Roth returned to direct Hostel: Part II in 2007. The film did spawn second sequel Hostel: Part III in 2011, but Scott Spiegel took over as director.

Twisted Metal’s second season laps the first in every department as it shifts into the perfect gear for more hyperbolized and hilarious vehicular violence.

“You’ll be going up against the most dangerous drivers in the country.”
“Baby, I’m the most dangerous driver in the country.”

Twisted Metal gradually learned during its first season that it’s at its best when it goes for broke and simply has fun with its source material and however it decides to interpret and remix it. Michael Jonathan Smith clearly has a lot of love for this video game property, but he doesn’t approach it like it’s some sacred text that can’t be changed. At the end of the day, these are lunatics who are locked in a deadly demolition derby to be granted a magical wish. It’s not a series to get lost in over logic. Twisted Metal wants you to breathe in the exhaust fumes, stare into the blinding headlights, and escape into its high-octane insanity, which is exactly what it accomplishes. It’s turn-your-brain-off-petal-to-the-metal madness that’s still full of surprises.

It’s hard to consider a show like Twisted Metal ever having restraint, but its unique approach to its first season means that season two gets to go all-in on the titular tournament. It’s a season of prolonged payoff after a year of table-setting; entertaining table-setting, but table-setting all the same. It’s like the first season was eating its vegetables and season two is 12 episodes of dessert. There are even extra empty calories for fans of the games as Twisted Metal gleefully indulges in more of its classic video game characters. Some of these individuals may have seemed too ridiculous for the show’s inaugural year, but they’re the perfect fit during this more confident and challenging sophomore season.

Twisted Metal is full of such radical, hyperbolized characters where everyone has Main Character Energy and operates like they’re working through their own single-player Twisted Metal playthrough. This isn’t the type of series that’s going to win its actors any Emmys, but there are phenomenal performances from Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, and Mike Mitchell, with all of the new cast absolutely killing it; particularly Anthony Carrigan as Calypso who is clearly having too much fun in this role. It’s more perfect casting from the series. Beyond these strong performances, this season also separates Mackie’s John Doe and Beatriz’s Quiet for a large stretch of the season. This helps Twisted Metal forge even stronger relationships, get further out of its comfort zone, and it guarantees that there’s always electricity whenever John and Quiet do share time together.

Not enough can be said about how effortless Mackie is in this role. It’s really the sort of mode that he needs to be in more often because he taps into a sublime wavelength for this cartoonish universe. Alternatively, there’s a tender scene that involves John Doe’s amnesia and a cathartic homecoming that features some of the best work from Mackie’s career. Mackie was entertaining in season one, but he really builds upon this performance in season two with some surprisingly muted moments that really soar. Twisted Metal’s second season offers better character development all-around. There are well-seeded flashbacks that never attempt to be Lost, but they still improve upon the first season’s formula and learn from some of its past misgivings and criticisms. The ongoing evolution of Mike Mitchell’s Stu is especially satisfying.

Twisted Metal 2 Axel Screams

Twisted Metal’s second season also puts extra focus on family values – both when it comes to the biological ties that bind and the idea of the found families that we choose for ourselves. It’s rewarding material to explore in a season of television that revolves around a bunch of maniacs who are selfishly fighting over a wish. Twisted Metal actually builds to some sweet emotional moments that stick the landing and feel earned, which isn’t easy in a fantasy like this where so few things are actually precious. Outside of the major players’ personal epiphanies, there’s a brilliant bombshell that completely recontextualizes the whole tournament and the people behind it.

Twisted Metal is propelled forward by a frenetic energy that’s present in every element – whether it’s the story’s pacing, the editing, or its action sequences. There are atmospheric and evocative sequences that commit to the bit so that the emotions are always as potent and raw as possible. There’s an excellent slasher-esque setpiece that’s set in an abandoned drive-in lot as a predator mows his way through empty cars. That being said, some of the show’s dialogue gets a little too ridiculous. It fails to take itself seriously in favor of outrageous wordplay and easy gags, but it’s hard to get too bent out of shape over this in a series where there are killer clowns, soul-stealing grim reapers, and an extremely disturbing man-and-motor vehicle hybrid that would make David Cronenberg blush. Twisted Metal knows that it can get away with these guilty pleasure gags, even if they’re completely asinine. The first season occasionally felt like it was aping Death Race 2000, but season two laps its predecessor and becomes something that’s closer to Mad Max meets Fast and the Furious.

Twisted Metal continues to use inspired needle drops to amplify its action and maximize the mayhem. It throws together such an unpredictable pop culture potpourri that plays as fast and loose with its storytelling and reality as it does with its clashing genre sensibilities. The series transforms from farcical comedy to white-knuckle action thriller to impressionist horror at breakneck speed. There are absurdist moments that fully acknowledge the video game series while others seemingly indicate that the series is the story that inspired the games. This dissonance in the universe’s lore almost seems like it intentionally wants to embrace chaos and throw caution to the wind and, honestly, it’s a vibe that works for it.

Twisted Metal delivers a stronger second season that’s easy, breezy, mindless fun. It’s not high art, but it’s also not trying to be. The explosions are big, the destruction is extreme, and that’s enough. It’s glorious grindhouse B-movie madness that blazes past the speed limit, cuts the brakes, and never slows down. Twisted Metal is finely-tuned mayhem that accomplishes exactly what it wants and has a blast the whole time. The season also comes to a close on a maddening note that heightens the danger and teases an even more extreme third season if one gets greenlit. If the show’s future gets cut short and it ends up in the junkyard, at least it never stopped being its insane self and putting the pedal to the metal in every conceivable way.

4 out of 5 skulls

Twisted Metal’s 12-episode second season premieres July 31, 2025 on Peacock, with two episodes airing each week.

Filming is underway on showrunner Brad Caleb Kane’s “Crystal Lake,” the upcoming Friday the 13th television series from Peacock and A24 that will serve as an expanded prequel to the legendary slasher franchise. And the new Jason Voorhees has boarded the project.

Chucky” actor Callum Vinson has joined the series as young Jason Voorhees, Deadline reports today.

Vinson, who recently starred as Henry Collins in “Chucky” season three, is billed as a recurring guest star, as this new project focuses on Jason’s mother, Pamela Voorhees. The series’ version of Pamela Voorhees is “believed to be a mother who had given up a singing career to raise a special needs child and takes a dark turn when she loses her son.”

Linda Cardellini stars in “Crystal Lake” as Mrs. Voorhees, who was of course the killer in the original Friday the 13th (1980). She’s joined by William Catlett (Abigail), Cameron Scoggins (“Nashville”), Devin Kessler (“Godfather of Harlem”), and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. Scoggins will play Dorf, the police officer portrayed by Ron Millkie in the original classic!

Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble, Best Foot Forward), Danielle Kotch (Director’s Cut), and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter Is Dead) have also joined the cast.

Cordileone will play “Crazy” Ralph, Joy Suprano as Rita, Kotch as Claudette, and Parnevik as Barry.

Fans of the original will recognize those names. The character Barry Jackson (Willie Adams) appeared in the original Friday the 13th film as a camp counselor and, famously, Pamela’s first victim. His girlfriend, Claudette Hayes (Debra S. Hayes), also a camp counselor, was Pamela’s second victim.

The eight-episode series is set to be directed by Michael Lennox (“Derry Girls”), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (“The Pitt”).

The series will notably bring the Friday the 13th franchise back to life after 16 years of Jason Voorhees lying dormant at the bottom of the lake due to messy legal issues over the rights.

Jason Voorhees, created by Victor Miller, has been played by multiple actors, including Ari Lehman, who brought the character to life in the original film. Additional actors include Warrington Gillette, Steve Dash, Richard Brooker, Ted White, Tom Morga, C.J. Graham, Kane Hodder, Ken Kirzinger and Derek Mears.

Vinson marks the newest, and one of the youngest, to play the horror icon. Stay tuned.

It’s shooting under the faux title “Mama’s Boy,” and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane’s Instagram account has become our go-to source for behind the scenes updates.

Caleb Kane shared a set photo this morning that quite literally takes us into the woods of Crystal Lake, with a cabin seen off in the distance. It almost looks like a shot from the point-of-view of Mrs. Voorhees, who will no doubt be slaying camp counselors in the Peacock series.

Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane captions the photo, “The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I’ve got promises to keep, and folks to kill before I sleep.” Check out the Instagram post below.

Rev your engines. Peacock has debuted the official trailer “Twisted Metal” Season 2, introducing the contestants for this season’s ultra-violent tournament.

The high-octane action-comedy series based on the video game series returns to Peacock with three episodes on July 31, followed by new episodes every Thursday through August 28.

In the new season, “Following the revelations in the season one finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly TWISTED METAL tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.”

Anthony Mackie (“John Doe”), Stephanie Beatriz (“Quiet”), and Joe Seanoa (“Sweet Tooth”) are all back for Season 2, with Will Arnett returning as the voice of “Sweet Tooth.”

Emmy and SAG Award-nominated actor Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Superman) will play Calypso, with Richard de Klerk (A Teenage Prophet), Patty Guggenheim (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), and Tiana Okoye (Panhandle) also joining Season 2 as recurring guest stars.

Meet Calypso and some of the newcomers in the new trailer below. Also look for fan-favorite character Sweet Tooth to bring the mayhem.

Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) said in a statement, “The stakes couldn’t be higher as John and Quiet risk their lives to compete in the dangerous demolition derby tournament. The prize? A single wish, their greatest hearts desire, granted. The only problem is sixteen other drivers have wishes of their own. In a fast-paced, hysterical, thrilling season with unforgettable characters, it’s too bad not all of them will survive.”

“Twisted Metal is a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, a high-octane action comedy based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) and written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai).

You can catch up on season one now on Peacock.

Peacock has ordered up their own limited scripted series based on the John Wayne Gacy murders, “Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy,” and an eerie new teaser brings an unsettling first look.

“Devil in Disguise” premieres on Peacock on October 16, 2025.

The official synopsis: “From 1972-1978, thirty-three young men were kidnapped, murdered, and buried in a crawl space beneath their killer’s house. And no one was the wiser. Not for all those years. Why? He was charming and funny. Had a good, All-American job. Was a community leader. He even volunteered to entertain sick kids while dressed as a clown. Devil In Disguise: John Wayne Gacy peels back the twisted layers of Gacy’s life while weaving in heartrending stories of his victims; exploring the grief, guilt, and trauma of their families and friends; and exposing the systemic failures, missed opportunities, and societal prejudices that fueled his reign of terror.”

John Wayne Gacy and his ‘Pogo the Clown’ alter ego made America afraid of clowns long before Stephen King introduced us to Pennywise, claiming 33 lives before being arrested in 1978.

As Wikipedia notes, “John Wayne Gacy was sentenced to death on March 13, 1980. He was executed by lethal injection at Stateville Correctional Center on May 10, 1994.”

The series hails from showrunner/executive producer/writer Patrick Macmanus (Dr. Death, The Girl From Plainville) and boasts an impressive cast.

Michael Chernus (Severance, Dead Ringers), Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us, Terminator: Dark Fate), James Badge Dale (The Empty Man), Michael Angarano (Oppenheimer, This Is Us), Chris Sullivan (This Is Us, Mercy), and Marin Ireland (The Dark and the Wicked, The Boogeyman) star.

The new teaser below doesn’t give much away, but it does establish a suitably eerie atmosphere perfect for the Halloween season.

Look for the eight-episode limited series to arrive this October, only on Peacock.

Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes’ Drop will make its streaming debut July 11 on Peacock.

The suspense thriller is directed by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) and written by Jillian Jacobs & Christopher Roach (Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island).

Violet is a widowed mother who has worked up the courage to go on her first date in years with a charming photographer named Henry. The cute couple’s killer chemistry is rudely interrupted by a series of anonymous drops to Violet’s phone showing a masked intruder entering her home and ordering her to follow a series of instructions.

Violet must do exactly as she’s told or her loved ones will die. Her unseen tormentor’s final directive? Kill Henry.

Meghann Fahy (“The White Lotus”) and Brandon Sklenar (“1932”) star with Violett Beane (“The Flash”), Jeffery Self (“Search Party”), and Jacob Robinson.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Drop is a swift, fun thriller that’s impeccably crafted right down to the production design, featuring a cast that seems to be having as much fun as Landon is flexing his creative muscles while paying tribute to the greats.”

Blumhouse’s The Woman in the Yard will make its streaming debut June 27 on Peacock.

The supernatural horror film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan, The Shallows) and written by Sam Stefanak (“F Is for Family”).

Danielle Deadwyler (Till), Okwui Okpokwasili (“Agatha All Along”), Peyton Jackson, Estella Kahiha, and Russell Hornsby (“Grimm”) star.

“When the sun is bright and the wind is still, she comes to you like a sudden chill. Draped in black from head to toe, how she got there, you’ll never know.” With that cryptic warning, an otherworldly woman sends a family into a seemingly inescapable nightmare.

Already grieving the death of her husband, Ramona faces a new fear when this mysterious figure appears outside her farmhouse. With the woman continually creeping closer, Ramona must protect her children from the chilling grasp of this haunting entity whose unknown intentions are anything but peaceful.

The Woman in the Yard reunites Collet-Serra and Deadwyler following their recent collaboration on Carry-On.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “The high concept psychological horror movie is so inert that it lacks anything resembling tension or scares. That’s especially bad news when its sparse plot is content to faithfully adhere to the well established and overly tired grief horror blueprint.”

Jenn and I have tackled ‘theme’ months before on Murder Made Fiction, including a month dedicated to Australian true crime, survival cannibalism and nearly two months on Ted Bundy.

For the first time ever, though, we’re tackling medical horror. Jenn kicked things off last week with a primer on Dr. Christopher Duntsch (listen), outlining the surgeon’s swift rise and even faster decline thanks to a drug addiction and a whole lotta hubris.

We’re spending the rest of the month looking at season one of the Peacock series Dr. Death (we’re also tackling S02 on Patreon if you want to hear us discuss Paolo Macchiarini). In the premiere, we discuss episodes one and two, which introduces Chris (played by Joshua Jackson) in several timelines: the week leading up to a disastrous July 25, 2012 surgery, his time spent playing football (badly) in 1991, and a brief glimpse at 2015 when he’s been arrested.

Duntsch’s adversaries are his colleagues, including “by the books” Dr. Robert Henderson (Alec Baldwin) and wisecracking Dr. Randall Kirby (Christian Slater). As the two men survey the bodies left in Duntsch’s wake, they begin to wonder two things:

  1. Is Christopher Duntsch a terrible surgeon or a sadist who enjoys inflicting pain on his patients?
  2. How, after so many years of botched surgeries, many of which resulted in the death or paralysis of his patients, does Duntsch still have operating privileges and a medical license?

These are the questions that ground the 2021 season, which hails from writer/creator Patrick MacManus.

P.S. In case you thought “this is just a doctor/medical show,” simply check out the foley work in the surgery sequences when Duntsch goes to town on people’s spines with a hammer. It’s absolutely horrifying.

Want even more Murder Made Fiction? Be sure to check out the pod’s Patreon feed, where Jenn and I have 100+ episodes and ~73 hours of exclusive content including full primers on Duntsch and Dr. Paolo Macchiarini, episode by episode coverage of Dr. Death season 2, a spoiler-y review of David Midell’s The Ritual and 2016’s The Exorcism of Anna Ecklund, and a full primer on her 1928 exorcism.

Casting is underway on the Friday the 13th TV series “Crystal Lake” from Peacock and A24, and Deadline reports tonight that William Catlett (Abigail) has officially signed on.

William Catlett will be starring alongside Linda Cardellini in the series. Deadline details, “We hear the actor will play the part of Levon Brooks, though no other details were disclosed, and the plot of the series remains under wraps.” Catlett’s role is said to be a “major” one.

Linda Cardellini will be playing Mrs. Voorhees in “Crystal Lake” for A24 and Peacock, described as “a mother who had given up a singing career to raise a special needs child and takes a dark turn when she loses her son.” Her son, of course, is none other than Jason Voorhees.

“Crystal Lake” has been described as an “expanded prequel” to the original Friday the 13th franchise featuring both Jason Voorhees and his mother, Pamela Voorhees. The streaming series will notably bring the Friday the 13th franchise back to life after 16 years of Jason Voorhees lying dormant at the bottom of the lake due to messy legal issues over the rights.

Brad Caleb Kane (“Welcome to Derry”) is the project’s showrunner.

We will be closely watching every stage of pre-production, production and post-production on “Crystal Lake,” as this is a major event here in the horror world. Stay tuned…

Director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man shakes up the werewolf mythos with a new take on the Universal Classic Monster, and it’s heading to Peacock this month.

From Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, Wolf Man begins streaming exclusively on Peacock beginning April 18.

Christopher Abbott (Poor Things) stars as Blake, a husband and father who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes. With his marriage to wife Charlotte (Julia Garner) fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matlida Firth). But as the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter.

Of course, there’s also the matter of Blake, who begins a harrowing transformation. Whannell’s reimagining of the 1941 Universal Monsters classic doesn’t feature a transformation at all, at least not in the conventional sense. The entire film, set over the course of one harrowing night, centers on a man grappling with a long, painful transformation.

Bringing this monstrous, body horror-fueled vision to life on screen was Prosthetics & Special Makeup Effects Designer Arjen Tuiten (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Pan’s Labyrinth).

The horror film also stars Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama) and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man).

The screenplay is written by Leigh Whannell & Corbett TuckLauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money). Whannell’s previous films with Blumhouse include The Invisible ManUpgrade and Insidious: Chapter 3.

Watch Wolf Man at home later this month, when it exclusively begins streaming on Peacock.

Along with Wolf Man , Peacock is the exclusive streaming home for additional Blumhouse films, including:

    • The Black Phone
    • The Exorcist: Believer
    • Halloween Kills
    • Halloween Ends
    • The Invisible Man
    • Sick
    • The Forever Purge
    • Firestarter
    • Five Nights at Freddy’s
