After having its World Premiere at Fantasia, Alex Phillips’s avant-gutter psychedelic freakout All Jacked Up and Full of Worms is heading to this month’s Fantastic Fest, in Austin, Texas.

It was announced ahead of the premiere that Cinedigm acquired the indie, which will join the Bloody Disgusting-powered horror streaming service SCREAMBOX this fall, followed by an exclusive window on Cinedigm’s indie discovery platform Fandor.

While a tripped-out, gross-out trailer has already been shared, we’re excited to reveal what we think is one of the coolest posters of the year for the film described as “a flamboyant, darkly outrageous new vision that mashes together retro grindhouse thrills with the squirmy depths of underground cinema.”

In the film, “Working at a seedy motel, maintenance man Roscoe (Phillip Andre Botello) is always searching for his latest fix. When he stumbles upon a powerfully hallucinogenic worm, his days of dime-store drugs are over. Along with his new love interest (Dawkins), the pair embark on a delirious odyssey of sex, violence, and becoming one with the dirt.”

The transgressive splatter comedy also stars Trevor Dawkins (“Easy”) and Betsey Brown (The Scary of Sixty-First), with Mike Lopez, Noah Lepawsky and Eva Fellows. The film was produced by Georgia Bernstein and Ben Gojer.

Most horror fans don’t know their names yet but they will when Shudder releases their outrageous horror-comedy Deadstream this fall. Vanessa & Joseph Winter come straight from their SXSW hit to the V/H/S family and deliver one of the most insane segments ever recorded.

Maggie Levin is a filmmaker with rock n’ roll roots. We became fans after catching her directorial debut My Valentine for Hulu and Blumhouse’s “Into the Dark” horror anthology series. She also served as second unit director for Scott Derrickson’s smash-hit The Black Phone. Maggie’s segment delivers all the punk rock chaos you’d expect from V/H/S.

Tragedy Girls is a huge fan favorite here on Bloody Disgusting and we’ve been dying to get director Tyler MacIntyre to join the V/H/S family. What he caught on tape will have you questioning the saying, “just let kids be kids.”

Last but not least is musician-turned-director Flying Lotus, who helmed the trippy festival nightmare Kuso and is in prep on the sci-fi horror film Ash. He brings all the weird you wished for in V/H/S/99. Be careful what you wish for.

Next up is Venus, hailing from horror veteran Jaume Balagueró, the co-director of REC and REC 2, not to mention the filmmaker behind Sleep Tight and The Darkness.

The second film in the anthology film series is described as a supernatural horror story that’s set in an urban survival environment with elements of modern witchery.

With the film set to World Premiere in the Midnight Madness program of the Toronto International Film Festival, Bloody Disgusting has the official poster for the film the fest describes as “cosmic horror within the concrete corridors of a cursed apartment complex on the outskirts of Madrid.”

Venus is inspired by HP Lovecraft’s “Dreams in the Witch House” and stars Ester Expósito, Ángela Cremonte, Magüi Mira, Fernando Valdivieso and Federico Aguado.

Venus will also open Sitges before arriving exclusively to theaters across Spain on December 2nd courtesy of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Following its theatrical run, Venus will be available on Prime Video.

Jessica M. Thompson directed the upcoming horror movie for Sony’s Screen Gems, the film being described as “a contemporary horror thriller.”

The Invitation is said to “tell the story of a young woman who is courted and swept off her feet, only to realize a gothic conspiracy is afoot.” The film will release on August 26, 2022.

Here’s the full plot synopsis: “After the death of her mother and having no other known relatives, Evie (Nathalie Emmanuel) takes a DNA test…and discovers a long-lost cousin she never knew she had. Invited by her newfound family to a lavish wedding in the English countryside, she’s at first seduced by the sexy aristocrat host.

“But Evie is soon thrust into a nightmare of survival as she uncovers twisted secrets in her family’s history and the unsettling intentions behind their sinful generosity.”

She uses artificial intelligence to develop M3GAN, a life-like doll programmed to be a kid’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. After unexpectedly gaining custody of her orphaned niece, Gemma enlists the help of the M3GAN prototype – a decision that has unimaginable consequences.

Akela Cooper (Malignant, The Nun 2, Luke Cage) wrote the script that is based on a story by James Wan, and Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) will direct the film.

Jason Blum and James Wan are producing the thriller. Michael Clear, of Wan’s Atomic Monster banner, will executive produce with Judson Scott shepherding for the company. Ellen Adair (Trick, The Sinner) is set to star in the upcoming horror indie co-written by Pierce and James Allerdyce.

The film tells the story of a woman who ends up trapped between a zombie outbreak and warring militias as she tries to outrun her past. Adair plays Jamie Miller, a young woman stranded near the hometown she vowed never to return to when the unexpected occurs.

Fans will recognize Adair as Sheriff Lisa Jayne in 2019’s Trick, or as Bess McTeer in Season 2 of “The Sinner”. Fresh looks at “the horrors of modern dating seen through one young woman’s defiant battle to survive her new boyfriend’s unusual appetites.”

There’s a bit of a battle to contain spoilers and the first poster for Fresh, revealed alongside the trailer here, gives it all away. It’s debatable if this plot point is even a spoiler, but for the sake of Bloody Disgusting readers, we’ll just continue to assume it is.

Digressing, the newest poster is spoiler-free, but man is it unappetizing. While it’s got a retro classic thriller appeal, the design work is bizarre, elongating star Daisy Edgar-Jones‘ neck and clunkily jamming antagonist Sebastian Stan behind her. The point of the sideways “E” is lost, although I suppose it could represent a fork or the letter “M” for “meat”?  It’s all red probably because blood? Only the designer knows.

In the film…

“Frustrated by scrolling dating apps only to end up on lame, tedious dates, Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones) takes a chance by giving her number to the awkwardly charming Steve (Sebastian Stan) after a produce-section meet-cute at the grocery store. During a subsequent date at a local bar, sassy banter gives way to a chemistry-laden hookup, and a smitten Noa dares to hope that she might have actually found a real connection with the dashing cosmetic surgeon. She accepts Steve’s invitation to an impromptu weekend getaway, only to find that her new paramour has been hiding some unusual appetites.”

Fresh had its World Premiere at last month’s Sundance Film Festival where Meagan reviewed the film, writing that the film “serves up carnivorous but unsatisfying meat-cute tale.

Creepy Duck Design has seen a handful of his designs converted into official posters for the new Scream, which was this time directed and produced by Radio Silence.

Earlier this week, Paramount and Spyglass jointly announced that a sixth Scream is officially in the works and will begin shooting later this year.

Creepy Duck Design got straight to work and pumped out a fan-made conceptual Scream 6 poster that is easily one of the coolest pieces of film art I’ve ever seen.

The Scream 6 poster, shared below, shows Scream killer Ghostface holding up his signature knife that’s dripping with gore. The blood itself makes up half of Ghostface’s iconic mask.

Here’s hoping this too becomes an official Scream 6 poster down the line!

One thing we need to make clear right off the bat? Nightmare Alley isn’t a horror movie. “It has happened to me in the past with Crimson Peak, where people went in expecting a horror movie. But yes, this has no supernatural element. It’s based completely in a reality world. There is nothing fantastic. It’s a very different movie from my usual,” del Toro tells Vanity Fair.

The movie adapts the novel by William Lindsay Gresham. Published in 1946, the novel spawned its first feature film just one year later starring Tyrone Power and Joan Blondell, and this new take was written by del Toro and Kim Morgan.

Nightmare Alley is on the way this holiday season from Searchlight Pictures, with the hotly anticipated film only in theaters on December 17.

Bloody Disgusting scored an exclusive world premiere of the film’s first trailer and poster art, which highlight horror favorites Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead films) and Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Syfy’s “Chucky”) stuck in a toy store with a horde of “demonic” shoppers.

“On Thanksgiving night, a group of disgruntled toy store employees begrudgingly arrive for work to open the store at midnight for the busiest shopping day of the year. Meanwhile, an alien parasite crashes to Earth in a meteor. This group of misfits led by store manager Jonathan (Campbell) and longtime employee Ken (Sawa) soon find themselves battling against hordes of holiday shoppers who have been turned into monstrous creatures hellbent on a murderous rampage on Black Friday.”

The cast also includes Ivana Baquero (Pan’s Labyrinth), Ryan Lee (Goosebumps), Stephen Peck, and Michael Jai White (Spawn). The film was composed by Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump.

Screen Media is set to release the horror-comedy timed with the holiday season, releasing it in theaters on November 19th and on VOD platforms November 23rd.

The posters for the previous four Scream films have always highlighted the suspects cast, while this is the first to prominently feature the iconic slasher! The first trailer was a huge misstep but this new one gets back to the found-footage basics and looks like a fun time in a small Amish town where the locals appear to actually be… satanic?!

The film is rated PG-13 for “intense sequences of violence and action, some strong language, disturbing material and suggestive references.”

In 2018, Venom grossed over $850 million worldwide and officially launched Sony Pictures’ own universe of Marvel characters.

Sony’s Columbia Pictures today shared a quartet of art for the forthcoming Venom sequel that gives each of the four stars their own character poster.

Here’s why that’s interesting: the first two posters show Tom Hardy transforming into Venom and Woody Harrelson into Carnage, while a third hypes the inclusion of Shriek (played by Naomi Harris), Carnage’s sonic-powered accomplice and eventual love interest. She-Carnage if you will. Why else would Williams’ Anne Weying get her own character poster unless she’s once again transforming into She-Venom? The silhouette on the art appears to confirm this and what would be cooler than She-Venom and She-Carnage battling it out right alongside their significant others?!

Sony Pictures will now release Venom: Let There Be Carnage exclusively in theaters on October 1st. The studio is putting some huge weight into the release, touting a 3D release alongside the film taking over all IMAX screens.

FrightFest is bringing twenty-five films to the London-based fest, which includes four world premieres and eight International / European premieres.

One such World Premiere is that of Better Noise Films’ latest production, The Retaliators, which the fest calls a “hilariously gory crowd-pleaser” and featuring cameos and music by Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee, Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach.

Bloody Disgusting has the exclusive drop on the festival poster art that promises some slicing and dicing with a machete.

In the film, “An upstanding pastor uncovers a dark and twisted underworld as he searches for answers surrounding his daughter’s brutal murder. A high-octane original soundtrack and cameos from some of the biggest names in rock music set the tone as this horror-thriller reveals a game of revenge played using a new set of rules.”

Michael Lombardi (“Rescue Me”), Marc Menchaca (“Ozark”), and Joseph Gatt (“Game of Thrones”) headline the cast alongside Jacoby Shaddix, frontman of Papa Roach, making his acting debut.

Final Destination‘s Devon Sawa (photo) plays the title character, the Death Rider in the house of vampires, with Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 star Kim Director (photo) playing Carmilla Jo and Julian Sands (photo) as Count Holliday, who rules the Vampire Sanctuary.

Danzig himself appears in a supporting role as “Bad Bathory” alongside Danny Trejo and filmmaker Eli Roth.

“Everybody in the movie is a vampire,” Danzig had teased a while back now. “So, you won’t have to wait around to see the vampire. They’re all fucking vampires!”

After scaring up over $150 million worldwide back in 2016, the franchise is back with Don’t Breathe 2, this time directed by Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe co-writer Rodo Sayagues.

Don’t Breathe 2 is currently scheduled for theatrical release on August 13, 2021.

Looking like another Biblical drama in the vein of The Witch, A24 shares the first piece of art that shows Prometheus star Noomi Rapace holding the film’s title character – a lamb that’s allegedly half human, half sheep. What does the animal’s body look like in that bad?!

The best part of the poster is the excellent tagline, which promises that mother nature is about to get turned on its head.

In addition, A24 promises a brand new trailer tomorrow that will presumably come with the film’s release date. A brooding international trailer was released ahead of Cannes.

“Lamb is the story of a childless couple, María (Rapace) and Ingvar (Hilmir Snaer Gudnason), who are sheep farmers in Iceland.

“On Christmas Eve they find a newborn who is half human, half sheep.

“Longing for a child of their own they decide to keep the lamb-child and raise it as their own regardless of the consequences. This unexpected prospect of a new family brings them much joy, before ultimately destroys them.”

“A script like this is rare and I directly felt that I had to do it,” said Rapace when the film was originally announced in Variety. “I’ve never done anything like this before and I can’t wait to start filming and go back to my roots in Iceland.”

Variety shares today the official market sales art for the film, which was directed by Finnish filmmaker Taneli Mustonen of Lake Bodom fame.

Steven Cree (Terminator: Dark Fate) and Barbara Marten (The Turning) also star in the film.

Shout! Studios, who was behind the remake of David Cronenberg’s Rabid, has also produced a reimagining of Roger Corman’s 1982 cult classic Slumber Party Massacre.

Bloody Disgusting previously shared the above first-ever image from the new take that was directed by Danishka Esterhazy, the filmmaker behind the wild and crazy Banana Splits Movie.

We now got our hands on the official sales art that’s being used by Raven Banner Entertainment out of the ongoing virtual Cannes market.

In the new take, “A slumber party turns into a bloodbath when a power drill-wielding psychopath disrupts the fun.”

In the original movie, the killer was a newly-escaped psychotic serial killer.

Hannah Gonera (Spell), Frances Sholto-Douglas (“Black Mirror”), Mila Rayne, Alex McGregor (Searchers, Blood Drive), and Reze-Tiana Wessels star in this remake.

From a screenplay by Suzanne Keilly (“Ash vs Evil Dead”, Leprechaun Returns), Slumber Party Massacre is produced in partnership with Blue Ice Pictures, with Bob Emmer, Garson Foos, Jordan Fields and Brent Haynes executive producing.

The film is already set for a Syfy premiere later this year.

We’ve already shared the trailer and first clip from the “sequel” and now have the film’s official poster art that puts Sink front and center at Camp Nightwing where viewers are promised “the truth” about the witch and her curse.

In Fear Street Part 2: 1978, “Shadyside, 1978. School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.”

Fear Street Part 2: 1978 premieres this Friday, July 9, while Fear Street Part 3: 1666 finishes out the trilogy on July 16. All three films are directed by Leigh Janiak (Honeymoon) and inspired by R.L. Stine‘s Fear Street books.

Universal Pictures has released a series of character posters that give us a look at each of the film’s masked killers, as well as the promise that the rules of “The Purge” are about to get broken. All bets are off in what looks like a slasher meets Spaghetti Western.

Vaulting from the record-shattering success of 2018’s The First Purge, Blumhouse’s infamous terror franchise hurtles into innovative new territory as members of an underground movement, no longer satisfied with one annual night of anarchy and murder, decide to overtake America through an unending campaign of mayhem and massacre. No one is safe.

Adela (Ana de la Reguera, Cowboys & Aliens) and her husband Juan (Tenoch Huerta, Days of Grace) live in Texas, where Juan is working as a ranch hand for the wealthy Tucker family. Juan impresses the Tucker patriarch, Caleb (Will Patton, Halloween), but that fuels the jealous anger of Caleb’s son, Dylan (Josh Lucas, Ford v Ferrari).

On the morning after The Purge, a masked gang of killers attacks the Tucker family—including Dylan’s wife (Cassidy Freeman, HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones), and his sister (Leven Rambin, The Hunger Games), forcing both families to band together and fight back as the country spirals into chaos and the United States begins to disintegrate around them.
