The scripted effort is based on a story by Brian Horiuchi (“Terminal D”) and Miguel Sapochnik (“Fringe,” “House”), with Paranormal’s Jason Blum (“The River”) executive producing through his Blumhouse Productions. Naomi Despres (The English Teacher) is also attached as an EP, with Horiuchi set to write and Sapochnik on board to direct.

If ordered to series, “Experiment” will join a growing roster of scripted entries on the younger-skewing network’s schedule. Among them: “Teen Wolf,” which was recently renewed for a third season of 24 episodes; upcoming comedy “Inbetweeners,” set to bow August 20; and the fall comedic drama “Underemployed” from Craig Wright.
