The Anti-Oscars: 2018
Atmosphere
England
So awards season is upon us, but we all know ultimately the Oscars never go to the best movies of the year. So what I thought could be a fun idea is for anyone who wants to to do their own antidote to the Oscars list of winners. No rules really other than it has to be a 2017 release and the film/person cannot already be nominated in that category this year. You can do as many of the categories as you wish. If you really wanted to you could give all the films you'd nominate for the respective categories, but it's not needed... just curious what your winners wouldbe. Let's see if anyone can come up with a better list of winners than the real Academy Awards.

Those glorious wide shots of The Battle of Crait are just simply gorgeous. You can pick apart that film's story all you want, but the cinematography is stunning.
It's a shame really that big budget movies generally speaking aren't usually evaluated in their component parts. TLJ was underwhelming for many, but a lot of people worked really hard on it and their work paid off so to tarnish it as all bad is just silly. I still don't particularly like the film, but I recognize that there is a whole lot of good in it.
