In H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!: “Fan-favorite creature feature host, Larry Kurtzberg (better known as H.R. Bloodengutz), returns in this all-new haunted house. After his descension into violent madness where he tortured his crew when his show was canceled (as featured in HHN 21), H.R. Bloodengutz has escaped from prison to return to WKNB Television Station for a final Halloween Special of gruesome proportions.”

Halloween Horror Nights show director Ramón Paradoa gave Bloody Disgusting the exclusive details on what to expect.

The Lore Behind A Halloween Fright-Tacular!

For its 35th edition, Halloween Horror Nights is bringing back fan favorites like Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. That also includes the return of a certain creature feature host, who was first unleashed in 2011’s H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: Holidays of Horror before making a brief appearance in 2021’s Welcome to SCarey: Horror in the Heartland.

“This is a sequel to an HHN classic,” Paradoa explains. “And the return of a very beloved character for our fan base. We’ve played with the idea of creating more story within H.R. Bloodengutz’s lore for a while, and this year the stars aligned, and it finally felt like the right opportunity. It’s been 15 years since that first haunted house in 2011, so we liked the idea of 15 years later, Carey’s favorite creature feature host returns for another bout of fun.”

This new house picks up 15 years later from Holidays of Horror‘s conclusion, where H.R. Bloodengutz has been incarcerated in the Carey Penitentiary since. Now, “he has finally broken out of prison on Halloween Day. He has returned to the WKNB television studio to present a Halloween marathon of straight-to-TV Halloween films that were his favorites that he never got to showcase back when he was working 15 years prior.”

In other words, the HHN horror host is curating his own holiday horror marathon for you, the guest.

Paradoa also provides a handy recap of H.R. Bloodengutz’s first outing, just to illustrate what kind of maniac is being unleashed on HHN 35. “In the events of that first haunted house, he ended up taking his producer hostage when he found out that his show and himself were getting the ax. He didn’t take that news very well. He decided to hold his producer hostage, to host that marathon that we saw the first go around, and things ended horribly, and ultimately ended with his arrest. He’s coming back 15 years later to have a little bit of Halloween fun this time, focusing specifically on the holiday of Halloween.”

The Return of Horror Host H.R. Bloodengutz

Among the many reasons Halloween Horror Nights remains such a holiday fixture is the creative team’s dedication to detail. That’s quite a feat when you consider the intricate lore developed over 35 years.

One key detail to note with H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular! is that not only is it tracking the horror host’s story progression, it’ll also feature the same actor portraying him.

Paradoa reminds that it’s been over a decade since Larry Kurtzburg snapped in his 2011 haunt; time and a prison stay have altered the horror host as we last saw him. “He has a new look to him that is leaning into his imprisonment. I’ll leave it at that,” the HHN show director teases.

“Since he’s escaping straight from prison and returning to the derelict studio, he tries to piece together his former look as much as he can, but there’s a fun little twist to how he looks this go around. And he’s older because we were able to work with the original actor who played Bloodengutz in 2011, to reprise his role,” Paradoa notes. “So, we’re getting an authentic, older version of the character in this new haunted house that is being played by the original actor, which again, our fans are going to love.”

What can fans expect with his appearance this time?

H.R. Bloodengutz will host one demented Halloween marathon. “What I’ll say about that without giving too much away is that there are seven movies that we’re presenting as scenes in the haunted house; seven movies that are a part of the marathon. Some of those movies are callbacks to HHN’s past.”

In true horror host fashion, “You’re going to get to see him in video format in between each of those movies, and he’s going to essentially usher you into the next movie.” H.R. Bloodengutz will also introduce the house itself and its backstory in queue line videos, too, like the original 2011 haunt, “where H.R. Bloodengutz told the story of each of the movies that he was presenting, and then his own story. We’re doing a queue line video for our guests, outside of this haunted house, where they’re going to get to see H.R. Bloodengutz in this new role, telling this new story, and preparing us for the Halloween Frightacular. Again, that is in collaboration with the original man himself, so we’re very excited for our fans to experience that.”

A True Halloween Extravanza

Unlike Holiday of Horrors, A Halloween Fright-Tacular! is dedicated solely to Halloween. With H.R. Bloodengutz’s demented marathon, that’s seven different ways to explore the holiday, something that Paradoa and the creative team really took to heart. The test, of course, was ensuring Halloween still feels fresh.

“Once we knew that the holiday of Halloween and the world of horror cinema was our playground, we knew that there was a lot to tap into,” Paradoa said. “There are so many different Halloween-based tropes that people know and love. We were really inspired by that, and we wanted to make sure that when you’re being transported into the worlds of these movies, although they have the throughline of Halloween, they’re all completely unique from each other. That they all have a very distinct feel, and they present environments and characters that again, are rooted in what you’d expect out of classic Halloween textures, but are different from each other.”

“To tease you on some of those kinds of things, for example, one of the movies that he’s presenting is a black and white zombie film in an old graveyard.”

This house will cover just about every aspect of the beloved holiday. “We have some classic Halloween textures there. Another one is a Halloween party that is taking place inside a tiki bar that is overtaken by monsters of the night. So, different things like that, where we have different aggressors and different environments, but they’re all tied into the world of Halloween and kind of what you’d expect out of that Halloween comfort food kind of feel when it comes to monsters, zombies, skeletons, ghosts, those kinds of things. So, each film, each scene is going to feel very unique, but all based in the world of Halloween, which is really fun.”

As a massive horror fan himself, nailing the spirit of Halloween was of utmost importance to Paradoa. “It is all centered around that holiday, and I think this house almost being representative of the holiday within our slate we were really, really excited about, so I wanted to make sure that it felt authentic and captured that magical feeling of Halloween in every way we could.”

H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular! may be a sequel house, but one made thoroughly accessible to newcomers through its unique setup and Halloween atmospherics.

Paradoa sums it up well: “The great thing about this house, of course, is that it’s expanding upon a lore that we established 15 years ago, but it also pays tribute to a couple of different things. It pays tribute to the idea of a classic Halloween haunted house. We call these houses Halloween comfort food, and we’ve done them throughout the course of our history, and this house checks off that vibe.”

This year’s Halloween Horror Nights event begins on Friday, August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Tickets are on sale now.

Rick Baker is one of the artform’s true legends, and we’ve learned this week that the legendary artist is being honored with the Vision Award at this year’s Locarno Film Festival.

The festival announced in a press release, “With the Vision Award presented by Ticinomoda for Rick Baker, the Festival pays tribute to a remarkable figure who has been responsible for shaping some of cinema’s most fantastical creations. Baker will receive the award in Piazza Grande during the evening of Wednesday, August 12, 2026, as well as present, within the Festival programme, two key films from his career: An American Werewolf in London (1981) and The Nutty Professor (1996).”

“From his early make-up work on genre films in the 1970s to his sophisticated creature and character designs for large-scale studio productions, Rick Baker has forged a new visual grammar for cinematic metamorphosis,” Locarno adds, “earning him a record number of Academy Awards for Best Makeup and cementing his status as a reference point for generations of artists.”

The statement continues, “Over his long career, Rick Baker has transformed Michael Jackson into a zombie in Thriller and turned Jim Carrey into the Grinch. He has been responsible for crafting unforgettable werewolves to some of the most realistic gorillas ever created for film, each time redefining the audience’s sense of what is real and what is imagined on the big screen. In receiving the Vision Award, the Festival pays tribute to a remarkable figure who has been responsible for shaping some of cinema’s most fantastical creations.”

Locarno’s Artistic Director Giona A. Nazzaro writes, “Rick Baker was responsible for a Copernican revolution in cinema: visionary and revolutionary, he opened new paths for the imagination of entire generations, showing what it truly means to witness physical transmutation on the big screen. His filmography includes collaborations with George Lucas and David Cronenberg, Brian De Palma and Joe Dante, Tim Burton and Peter Jackson, John Carpenter and Mike Nichols, among many others. Presenting the Vision Award in Locarno to a pioneer and innovator like him, an absolute genius and incomparable craftsman, is an honour through which the Festival celebrates the infinite possibilities of cinema and its bag of tricks.”

The 79th Locarno Film Festival will take place from August 5-15, 2026.

The Vision Award pays tribute to artists whose creative work has contributed to the renewal of the cinematographic imaginary and has been given to masters of special effects, editors, sound designers, composers, musicians, cinematographers, and multidisciplinary artists.

Fans will confront the terror they’ve seen on screen as they navigate iconic locations and encounter favorite characters—all while evading a host of horrifying supernatural creatures…including Vecna himself.

The harrowing adventure will immediately transport guests to the town of Hawkins, as the barrier between reality and the supernatural is collapsing to unleash an ominous darkness. As visitors make their way through familiar scenes, including the Wheeler House, Hawkins National Laboratory, the MAC-Z military base, as well as the haunting realms of the Upside Down and the Abyss, they’ll be hunted at every turn by Demogorgons and other sinister creatures. With Vecna on their heels, the terror intensifies, pulling guests into an all-or-nothing battle for survival.

Makeup effects legend Greg Nicotero (“The Walking Dead,” “Creepshow”) has reimagined the iconic Crypt Keeper puppet from the classic HBO television series, and Shudder has shared photos of Crypt Keeper voice actor John Kassir posing with the new puppet!

Shudder captions the social post, “Horror FX legend Greg Nicotero joins forces with the unmistakable voice of John Kassir to bring a new Crypt Keeper puppet to life.”

The big question here is… WHY?! Was this just a fun project for Nicotero, as a fan of the series? Or is Shudder teasing that the puppet was created for a reason? It’s likely the former, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating that Shudder has something planned for “Tales from the Crypt” beyond merely streaming the seven existing seasons of the HBO television series.

A “Tales from the Crypt” reboot series has never been able to get off the ground due to complicated rights issues, but perhaps Shudder has been able to untangle that mess? The reopening of the Tales from the Crypt content archive on Shudder was made possible by a collaboration with Dark Castle Entertainment, Lauren Shuler Donner, and Walter Hill (Tales from the Crypt Holdings), so it’s possible they’ve been able to work something more out…

For now, all seven seasons are presented fully uncut and uncensored on Shudder. And that’s good enough for us!

Inspired by the EC Comics tales, each episode of “Tales from the Crypt” offers a self-contained story hosted by the Crypt Keeper (Kassir), a wisecracking corpse known for his macabre puns. With its signature unrestricted gore, profanity, and dark irony, the show’s episode styles range from comedy to drama and deliver twisted moral lessons where “bad people” meet poetically horrific ends – and issues like greed, lust, and moral decay lead to tragic consequences.

The original HBO series featured a long list of Hollywood A-list guest stars, including Brad Pitt, Demi Moore, Michael J. Fox, John Lithgow, Christopher Reeve, Catherine O’Hara, Steve Buscemi, Brooke Shields, and many more. The talent also extended behind the camera, with notable directors including Robert Zemeckis, Tobe Hooper, and William Friedkin, as well as Tom Hanks, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Michael J. Fox.

Deadline reports, “Stranger Things: The First Shadow will complete its run at London’s Phoenix Theatre on December 27, 2026, and at Broadway’s Marquis Theatre on January 3, 2027.”

“The production, which cost more than an estimated $20 million to stage on Broadway, has not recouped its capitalization,” Deadline notes in their report this afternoon.

“Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer said in a statement, “When the legendary Stephen Daldry first came to us with the idea of making a Stranger Things play, we were stunned — both by the fact that Stephen wanted to do this, and that he believed it could work. And boy, did it work.”

“We remain awed by what Stephen, Kate Trefry, Justin Martin, and all the brilliant behind-the-scenes wizards were able to pull off: cinematic theater unlike anything else out there,” the statement continues. “Their incredible work drew audiences from all over — a majority of whom had never even been to a Broadway show before. We’d also like to give a standing ovation to the incredibly gifted actors who stepped into these roles — including the Tony-nominated Louis McCartney — and to the fans, who made each and every performance so memorable.”

Produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions, Stranger Things: The First Shadow is directed by Stephen Daldry, co-directed by Justin Martin, and written by Kate Trefry.

The stage play explores the origin story of Henry Creel/Vecna. In 1959 Hawkins, Indiana, the Creel family seeks a fresh start, especially their teenage son Henry, who is eager to escape his troubled past. Initially, things go well — he finds friendship and joins the school play.

But when a wave of shocking crimes strikes the town, Henry is forced to confront a terrifying truth: is there something inside him that connects him to the horrors unfolding around him?

As this thrilling mystery races forward, shadows of the past are unleashed, and the town of Hawkins faces the ultimate question: can the power of friendship outshine the darkness within?

The show opened on the West End in 2023 before beginning its Broadway run in April 2025.

 Saltspray also marks Macabre’s third collab. The first Macabre release, Rare, Fine & Limited, was a sotol accompanied by a novella by modern master Mike Flanagan, and the second, Hell Is Not Mocked, was a Texas whiskey with a story by best-selling author Christopher Buehlman.

Keith David was honored with the 2,847th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 4 at 11:30 am PT. David received his star in the category of Motion Pictures. Joining emcee Ryan Bathe were Mayor Karen Bass, Lynn Whitfield, John Carpenter and John C. McGinley.

John Carpenter raved that Keith David is “an astonishing actor,” and both Carpenter’s speech and Keith David’s speech have made their way onto YouTube thanks to MaximoTV.

“I am trying to come up with a way to sum up Keith,” Carpenter told the crowd. “And I would say grace. That sums up the character of Keith David. My friend, I love you very much.”

“You deserve this,” Carpenter ended his quick speech.

“This for me has been an incredible year,” Keith David said during his own speech. “Today I turn 7-0. All my life I wanted to be an actor. I had a dream. And I got to pursue that dream. What you’re bearing witness to today is a man living his dream. Today is a great day. Filled with gratitude and blessings overflowing. But even on my not-so-great days, I’m still living my dream.”

Arriving in theaters June 5, 2026, Scary Movie has been Rated ‘R’ for “crude sexual content, graphic nudity, strong violence, and drug content and language throughout.”

Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite for the new Scary Movie, with the cast also including Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Jon Abrahams, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose.

Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. The 1990s also saw the opening of the Goosebumps HorrorLand Fright Show at Disney’s MGM Studios in Walt Disney World, which opened its doors on October 8, 1997. Unfortunately, the attraction would be open for only one year, closing its curtain in November 1998.

Named after Stine’s popular book One Day at HorrorLand, the Fright Show also featured monsters from various other Goosebumps books including The Haunted Mask, Night of the Living Dummy, Monster Blood II, and A Night in Terror Tower. The live stage show was hosted by Amaz-O the Magician, who brings all of these Goosebumps icons to life on stage.

The official Wikipedia page for the Goosebumps HorrorLand Fright Show recaps, “The show starts like the TV show opening, with a man in black clothing walking with a suitcase as the theme song plays. After the man goes behind the curtain, Amaz-O the Magician pops out to start his magic act.” All hell breaks loose when Slappy the Dummy is conjured up by Amaz-O…

“Amaz-O tries to make Slappy disappear, but instead makes Curly the Skeleton appear. Curly then announces the arrival of the Mummy of Prince Khor-Ru as he appears from the stage. Slappy and Khor-Ru attack Amaz-O, throwing him into a cage. The monsters then do a little magic trick of their own on the cage which makes Cuddles the Hamster appear from the cage. Curly announces that he and his monster friends will keep the audience prisoners, until the Terror Tower Executioner and two Haunted Masks come out from the curtain and scare Slappy, Curly, Prince Khor-Ru and Cuddles away. It is then revealed that the Executioner is actually Amaz-O in disguise and the two kids take off the Haunted Masks as they are safe.”

The reason we bring up the Goosebumps HorrorLand Fright Show this week is because a fan by the name of Joe Souza has shared with the Instagram account Razors in the Night his old family photos from their trip to Disney World back in the late ’90s. Joe and his family attended the Fright Show and snapped some incredibly nostalgic photos during the show!

Razors in the Night explains, “Photos of this are insanely rare to come by so thank you Joe for providing me with these. The first pic you can see 2 audience members in BOTH Haunted Masks facing the executioner; if this was at Disney nowadays peoples heads would explode.”

“The show was aimed at kids, but still carried that late ’90s haunted house energy Disney experimented with during the MGM era,” the account details in a second Instagram post. “It blended horror comedy, live stunt style performances, and walkthrough haunt aesthetics into something that felt closer to a HHN house than modern Disney entertainment.

“It only lasted about a year, but the HorrorLand Fright Show has become one of those strange forgotten pieces of Disney MGM history that people barely remember unless they were there.”

Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights 2026 kicks off Friday, August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The terrifying Sinners Halloween Horror Nights house will transport guests back in time to the popular Club Juke where they will quickly realize that nothing is as it seems when nefarious, red-eyed vampires Remmick, Bert and Joan appear with their insatiable hunger.

As they attempt to evade the vampires at every turn, fans will encounter some of their favorite characters lifted straight from the film, including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline and Cornbread.

Caught in a deadly struggle between twins Smoke and Stack and the bloodthirsty vampires, guests must survive the night – because the terror will only relent once the sun rises.

You can read all about the legal battle right here, but the long story short is that Spyglass and Paramount Pictures were suing Alterian after Alterian threatened copyright infringement litigation just before the release of Scream 7 in theaters. The idea was to obtain a court order to prevent Alterian from suing, calling the litigation “an outrageous attempt to shake down.”

After Spyglass and Paramount sued to prevent the “shake down” from Alterian, Alterian then counter-sued Paramount, Spyglass and Fun World for copyright infringement.

Alterian’s argument was that they are the true creators of the mask that became known as Ghostface, which was later copied by Fun World. For what it’s worth, that does indeed seem to be the case. Watch the YouTube video The Sad Story of Ghostface’s Mask for more on that.

“Despite stringing along Alterian for more than a year with enticements of brokering a mutually ​acceptable resolution, Defendants — goliaths ​in the industry — ⁠shamelessly continue to rip off and profit from Alterian’s creative work with impunity,” Alterian explained in their complaint.

The good news? Reuters reports this week, “Paramount Skydance and film producer Spyglass Media Group have settled a dispute with Hollywood makeup and special-effects studio Alterian over the rights to the Ghostface ​mask from Paramount and Spyglass’ Scream horror movie series, according to a filing ‌in California federal court.”

“The parties told a judge in Los Angeles on Wednesday that they have resolved their dispute and will dismiss their lawsuits against each other,” the report from Reuters continues.

Top horror franchises including Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street have similarly been caught up in legal battles, but it looks like Scream‘s were thankfully short-lived.

All is well in the world of Ghostface. Well, mostly…

Deadline reports that Paranormal Activity: A New Story Live on Stage is “coming to Broadway following sold-out runs in London’s West End, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC and San Francisco.” The outlet details, “the strictly limited 20-week engagement of Paranormal Activity – A New Story Live on Broadway will begin performances Friday, August 14, at Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre ahead of an official opening on Tuesday, September 15.”

Deadline also notes, “The Broadway production will follow a strictly limited pre-Broadway engagement in Boston at the Emerson Colonial Theatre from July 11 through July 30.”

Directed by Felix Barrett and written by playwright Levi Holloway, the stage show follows James and Lou, who move from Chicago to London to escape their past. Upon discovering a haunting presence in their home, they use a camera to document the unsettling shadow…

Original Paranormal Activity stars Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat attended the Paranormal Activity play last year, and they both shared their thoughts over on Instagram.

The Orca has been immortalized with many different official Jaws collectibles over the years, but one fan has taken his love for the 1975 cinematic masterpiece to a whole new level.

Nice News reports that UK fan Jon Fieldhouse has built “the first-ever full-scale replica of the boat from Jaws,” and he’s allowing the public to board the screen-accurate replica!

Fieldhouse’s Orca II is docked in the town of Conwy in North Wales, and he spent over a year converting a “42-foot-long 1969 Grand Banks” into a detailed replica of the Jaws boat.

Nice News explains, “Although he purchased it in pristine condition, he deliberately aged and altered it, taking nearly a year to transform the exterior. Re-creating the inside proved even more challenging. He searched far and wide for authentic-looking props, from vintage kitchen equipment to the smallest details seen on-screen.”

“Among the standout features are the yellow flotation barrels used to track the shark, along with a hand-built shark cage and replica beer cans famously crushed by Quint,” the site notes.

Horror fans who are willing to make the trip to step inside movie history can book hour-long visits aboard Fieldhouse’s Orca II through an official website set up for that purpose.

“You can see the boat from Conwy Marina and take photos, but you need to book a tour if you want to get close and actually go on board the boat,” Fieldhouse explains.

The best part? “A portion of the ticket price goes to several shark conservation charities,” Fieldhouse details. “The greatest weapon in this fight is awareness and education.”

The Dude Designs has unleashed his Paperback Nightmares series this week, featuring slasher classics reimagined in the style of classic horror paperback artwork from the 1980s!

“Here’s a series of designs I’ve had floating around in the back of my mind for over a year, and I finally found the time to sit down and bring them to life,” The Dude Designs explains.

He continues, “I’ve always loved the look and feel of classic 70s and 80s horror paperbacks, so I thought it would be fun to create some completely alternate art for Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th Part III, mainly because Part III gave us the iconic hockey mask, all done in the style of vintage pulp horror novel covers.”

“These films all originally received paperback novelizations through different publishers,” The Dude Designs notes, “so this became my own reimagining of what those books could have looked like in some parallel world of 1980s horror publishing. It was a lot of fun approaching these classics through a completely different lens, especially creating the vintage-inspired typography and layout treatments to make them feel authentic to the era. I wanted them to look like something you’d discover battered and dog-eared on a spinner rack in 1984.”

The best part? He’s selling the artwork as a set of three 18×24” screen prints.

When asked what genre he’d like to tackle next, Myers responded, “I’ve never done a horror movie. And my name is Michael Myers, so it’s a little weird that I have thus far avoided it.”

Although he has never appeared in a full-on horror movie, Myers played on the tropes of the genre in So I Married an Axe Murderer. He also voiced Shrek in the Halloween special Scared Shrekless.

Myers can currently be seen in the Michael Jackson biopic Michael as record executive Walter Yetnikoff. He’s also working on Shrek 5 and is rumored to be developing a fourth Austin Powers movie.

I Saw the TV Glow filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun will publish their debut novel, Public Access Afterworld, on October 27 via Hogarth Books.

Described as “a mesmerizing mashup of speculative fiction, horror, and conspiracy,” the 608-page novel is about a mysterious realm on the other side of our screens, a dark force that draws victims into its static, and the unlikely hero called to save them and herself from this electric hell.

Masters of the Universe x Barbie Figures from Mattel

He-Man and Teela from Masters of the Universe are joining the Barbie Signature doll line from Mattel Creations.

He-Man stands 12.25″ and wields the Power Sword, while Teela is 11.5″ tall and comes with a sword of her own. Each includes a doll stand and a certificate of authenticity.

Priced at $60 a piece, they go on sale tomorrow, April 25, exclusively for Barbie Club 59 and Club Grayskull members (requiring at $9.99 membership).

Killer: A Journal of Murder from Imprint Films

Killer: A Journal of Murder will make its Blu-ray debut on June 24 via Australia’s Imprint Films. Limited to 1,500, it costs AUD$34.95 (approx. $25).

Starring James Woods as serial killer Carl Panzram, the 1995 drama is presented in high definition with DTS-HD 5.1 Surround and LPCM 2.0 Stereo audio options.

The actor shared a video to his Instagram account this weekend announcing his proposal to girlfriend @lapetitejada, which happened at the Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo in Huntsville, Alabama. But this wasn’t just any ordinary proposal. David Howard Thornton proposed while fully dressed up as the Terrifier franchise’s Art the Clown… and she said YES!

So what’s the latest on Terrifier 4, you ask?

“Since there’s so much Terrifier 4 speculation and false information out there, I wanted to drop in and give an official update,” Leone said back in February. “The script is very close to completion, and I’m hoping to begin pre-production this Spring. This is the most precious script I’ve written for many reasons, but it’s also the most challenging. There’s a lot of material to tackle and a lot riding on this one, not just creatively but emotionally.”

“We’ve built something special together over the years,” Leone continues. “The cast and crew who have been here since the beginning deserve a finale that honors their dedication, and the fans who’ve championed this franchise deserve something unforgettable.”

“In all honesty, I’m thrilled with the way it’s turning out and confident it will deliver,” he added at the time. “I will officially announce when the script is complete on my social media pages which also means we’ll be moving into pre-production. If you don’t see it coming from or confirmed by me, then it’s not official. I promise it will be worth the wait!”

David Howard Thornton will return as Art the Clown, and he promises it will be a “bat shit insane” finale. Lauren LaVera is also expected back as Art’s adversary, Sienna Shaw.

For those who haven’t played this adaptation, the game replicates the intensity of the asymmetrical multiplayer video game, where four Survivors use their unique Perks to attempt to escape a nightmarish Trial, while another player as the Killer seeks to eliminate the Survivors. As in the video game, you’ll explore the trial grounds, discover props, and work to uncover and repair generators in order to escape. As a Killer, you’ll hunt down the survivors, wound them, and place them on sacrificial hooks. With enough sacrifices, you are able to appease The Entity and win.

Along with a new Survivor and Killer and two new maps to explore, the Auris campaign introduces three new game formats for players:

• Survive Alone – A dedicated 2-player format
• Survive Together – Survivor team play with an automated Killer
• Kill Alone – Solo Play as the Killer against 4 automated Survivors

Dead by Daylight: The Board Game is available on the Level 99 store, along with previous expansions in Malicious, Lightbringer and Unbroken.

First up, the iconic Tim Jacobus-illustrated cover art for The Haunted Mask comes to life with its own Hallmark ornament, which is made to look like a classic Goosebumps book. The ornament even has a sculpted 3D element that makes the titular Haunted Mask pop off the cover, and this is notably the first ever Goosebumps ornament to be released by Hallmark.

Elsewhere in the Dream Book, we’re getting a Dia De Muertos-themed Barbie doll ornament, along with Aliens, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Terminator 2 ornaments.

The Aliens ornament depicts the film’s “Cheyenne” ship, while the Godzilla ornament brings the King of the Monsters himself onto your Christmas tree. Terminator 2‘s ornament immortalizes Linda Hamilton’s action heroine Sarah Connor as a Hallmark Keepsake.

A new Gremlins ornament is also coming this year, along with an Ugly Christmas Sweater-themed Ghostbusters ornament. Hallmark joins forces with Funko for a Pennywise ornament based on the Bill Skarsgard version of the killer clown, while the tiny-headed Bob from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice – decked out in Beetlejuice’s attire – receives an ornament of his own.

We’re also getting a Creature from the Black Lagoon ornament based on the classic Universal Monsters movie, but perhaps the coolest new ornament for horror fans this year is an official Michael Myers Hallmark ornament based on 1981’s Halloween II.

And last but not least, Hallmark’s collection of Halloween ornaments will this year include a retro-style boxed Dracula mask, which is a treat for fans of the classic Ben Cooper costumes.

Menino Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and the team noted that they needed at least 250 fans to show up in Michael Myers cosplay in order to slash through the record. We can now report that the Guinness World Record has been set!

Illfonic, Gun Interactive, and Compass Entertainment were officially handed the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Michael Myers yesterday, and the team has celebrated with a series of Instagram posts that document the record-breaking assembly of 254 horror fans dressed up as Michael Myers and packed into a single location.

The game’s official Instagram account announced, “We did it! YOU did it! Thank you to everyone who helped make history today by showing up to set the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Michael Myers! Thank you to Illfonic, Gun, Further Front, and all the fans who helped make today one that the world will always remember.”

“This is one for the horror history books,” they note. Indeed it is!

“Frank can be flamboyant and feminine, slinky and sultry, but there’s a menace to him,” Evans tells Vogue. “I want him to feel attractive in many, many different ways so that men and women can look at him and go, ‘Hmmm.'”

Evans, Lewis, Rodriguez, and Guillén make their Broadway debuts in the production. The ensemble also includes Renée Albulario, Anania, Boy Radio, Caleb Quezon, Andres Quintero, Larkin Reilly, Paul Soileau, and John Yi.

With book, music, and lyrics by Richard O’Brien, this iteration of the iconic 1973 musical is directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton (Oh, Mary!).

“What’s fun about Rocky Horror is it has been done before,” Pinkleton says. “It’s been completely fine without me for 53 years. So coming in and saying, ‘Let me fix this,’ would not be the right choice. It doesn’t need fixing. I want to meet it at face value and embrace the many, many experiences people have with it.”

The show features choreography by Ani Taj, music supervision by Kris Kukul, set design by dots, costume design by David I. Reynoso, lighting design by Jane Cox, sound design by Brian Ronan, wig & hair design by Alberto “Albee” Alvarado, and make-up design by Sterling Tull.

The Rocky Horror Show is the story of two squeaky clean college kids on their way to visit their former college professor when by a twist of fate their car breaks down outside a mansion. They meet the charismatic Dr. Frank-N-Furter and other colorful characters in a strange adventure they will remember for a very long time.

“I totally get that there are people who think the show should be in the bin,” notes Pinkleton. “A punk alien musical from the ’70s can’t hold the multitudes and the complexities of our living, ever-changing moral compasses. It just can’t. If you try, everyone will be miserable and we’ll make something boring.”

The Rocky Horror revival kicks off with previews at New York City’s Studio 54 this Thursday, March 26, ahead of an opening on April 23. The limited engagement runs through June 21. Tickets are on sale now.

Jack the Clown was first introduced all the way back in 2000, and he’s become the most iconic villain in the stable of original Halloween Horror Nights characters. Dr. Oddfellow has similarly been haunting the event in various different ways throughout the past 25 years, and the time traveling dark sorcerer is responsible for the death of Jack Schmidt aka Jack the Clown.

At Halloween Horror Nights 35, the battle between Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow will be taken to a whole new level. The team previewed that expansion of mythology at MegaCon, “There’s a new little twist. We all know that Oddfellow can go from place to place. He’s a time traveler. We kind of coined the term for that, the OddVerse. And he has these different portals that he goes through. Well the box [that he sealed Jack the Clown in] was one of those portals.”

Halloween Horror Nights 35 will run from August 28th to November 1st, 2026.

“The idea for me was to make the commercial playful and show that you cannot compromise and you must be true to your essence, both as a product and as a director,” del Toro tells Variety.

“I insisted we shot in the Hacienda Patrón [in Jalisco, Mexico]. I scouted and then we measured because it’s a single motion control shot. It has two live-action actors, the bartender and me. I marked every skeleton on the floor. It felt so good to prep in a couple of days, shoot in two days and out of there.”

Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights celebrates 35 years of fear, screams, and nightmares later in 2026, and the official reveals will begin this Saturday, March 21, 2026!

“Stay tuned to @HorrorNightsOrl as a legacy of nightmares begins to unveil on March 21, 2026,” reads a faux ticket included in Universal Orlando’s package sent to our offices.

What do we know about Halloween Horror Nights 35?

We don’t know anything about Halloween Horror Nights 35 at this time, but we expect Universal Orlando will be going all out in celebration of the event’s landmark 35th anniversary.

Wikipedia states, “According to Lora Sauls, they began building the 35th anniversary of the event in April 2025 and all five original haunted houses for the event had been approved.”

Halloween Horror Nights 35 will run from August 28th to November 1st, 2026.

Horror Bricks has launched a Kickstarter for its first project: an official Toxic Avenger brick bust in the style of LEGOs.

The 722-piece set stands 6.3″ tall and includes a hidden Melvin inside. The campaign also includes 200-piece Slasher VHS and Zombie VHS sets that measure 5.5″ tall.

The Toxic Avenger bust starts at $68, with the Pocket VHSes running $25 each. A bundle with all three is available for $103.

Vice Press has released The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 prints by Estevan Silveira.

Across seven seasons and numerous specials the last eight years, Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl have hosted over 200 movies on Shudder, and while the duo promises they’ll be back in the future, it’s likely that their eventual return will look a little different. On that note, the team is now selling off the iconic screen-used trailer from the “Last Drive-In” set.

Joe Bob Briggs announces, “This 1966 canary yellow Shasta has been through a lot since we first towed it off the lot in 2018. I’ve interviewed famous people right here, I’ve held an impromptu prom, gave an inspirational speech, counted countless breasts, had both my head and guts removed from my body on separate occasions, and it all happened right here in front of this aluminum beauty. The auction goes live online… NOW!”

The team further details, “When The Last Drive-In returns for its FINAL double-features in 2026, the show will feature a brand new set – retiring the classic Shasta that’s been a mainstay for the show’s long run. The interior was refinished by the previous owner in 2017, and the electrical (lights and outlets) all function. The trailer is being sold “as-is” by the director, with the interior and exterior still featuring modifications made specifically for the show.”

They’re even tossing in a pair of screen-used lawn chairs and the screen-used marquee sign with changeable lettering, though they note that the neon sign is NOT included with the lot.
